NUMBERS CHAPTER 12 NOTES
v1 Miriam is the older sister of Moses and Aaron? How come we haven't heard from her much? Is she the prophetess mentioned earlier? Moses married an Ethiopian woman?
v2 God heard the quarrelling
v3 Meek meaning is quiet, gentle, and easily imposed on; submissive. Moses was very meek and the meekest of all men on earth. Noah was the most righteous of his generation. God favors those who are the most righteous and obedient
v5 “And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle…”
v6 “And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.”
v7 “ My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.” - I thought it was mentioned before that Moses was a prophet when he was in Egypt
v8 “With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” - Is God speaking to them in dark speech? Moses is the prophet. God speaks mouth to mouth with Moses
v9 God was angry with Aaron and Miriam
v10 Miriam became white as snow, she was leprous
v11 Aaron acknowledges that he sinned by quarrelling with Moses
v13 Moses asks God to heal Miriam
v14 God says for Miriam to be out the camp for 7 days. 7 is used again
v16 They journey to the wilderness of Paran
