It's the Spirit praying through us, so we don't know what we are praying all the time.

Here is an interesting tongues video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuKG7Ivp-00

This girl speaks Polish and had no clue she was praying in tongues. I like this video because it gives us an idea of what we are praying. :)
Why does she need to pray in English a tongue she does not know if she has a tongue, Polish, that she does know? Why is this more edifying if that is the purpose of tongues?

So it seems you are telling me God switches languages for us, gives a language we do not know in place of the one we do know?

How can this be authenticated? It cannot, she easily could have been taught some English prior to the arrival of the research team.

It is far more edifying because it is the Holy Spirit guiding you on what you are praying about or interceding on. Ever feel like you don't know what to pray? Tongues is a great option. The Lord guides your spirit on what to pray to the Father. The prayer can encompass many things, and I've heard it said, "You are praying in perfect faith the perfect will of God", over your life.

I am not making excuses, God does not leave us without knowledge, answer the questions, I think they are reasonable.

How is her praying in English, a language she does not know more edifying than her known language Polish.

If you tell me God has given her, or anyone, for that matter, a miracle of suddenly being able to speak in a second language, I could accept that more, but this not what the video is saying, it says she can only pray in English this one prayer.

Is the woman in the video I posted speaking in tongues according to your experience?

I really just do not get it, I thought it was the language of angels, mysteries and now you are telling me it is something different.

Confused:(

Its technically both. I am not fluent in Spanish but when I speak in tongues with an interpreter sometimes Spanish comes through. Sometimes I catch a word I do know in Spanish and I am like, "Hey, I'm speaking in Spanish."

I answered the edification part of your question in the previous post of mine.

It could be tongues for her, just like me speaking fluently in Spanish could be tongues for me. I cannot verify the story of the video, of course.

So it is sometimes known or unknown human languages and/or the language of angels?

Do you always have an interpreter present and does one need to be present if one is just praying alone?

Right, but I cannot, at the moment, with certainty tell you that I spoke in a particular language unless I know some of that language. Like in the example of Spanish. I don't know how many different languages I have spoken, or of what time period they are from. They could be ancient, or modern. I just don't know.

So you do not know if it is angelic or human we have established that, fair enough. Yay:)

So then do you say it also is a private prayer language that requires no interpretation?

I ask because there is no consensus even among those that employ or believe that it is tongues.

No, I do not always have an interpreter present when I am using the gift, but I am also not in public using it. If I do use it in public, each time it has been with the interpreter, well, interpreting. I don't just go wild with it. I pray in tongues at time, at different occasions, and I also sing in tongues. However, in private I have had an interpreter present as well. It isn't a necessity in that if you don't have one you must be silent. That is for a public setting, or a congregational address if you will. In private one can let loose regardless of an interpreter being present.

So then would it be fair to say, when it comes to praying in tongues, you may or may not know exactly what you are praying but spiritually you feel uplifted by this type of prayer and it brings a stronger spiritual presence than praying in the language you regularly speak (English)?
