Always say "Bless you!" Or even, "God bless you!" when a stranger sneezes, that's just polite! Any other time, and it comes across as odd. Depending on context, I guess. And I'm sure atheists get a lot of "God bless you!" from people trying to be funny, so I'm not sure that's helpful! Would be better to buy them a cup of coffee and have them explain their beliefs to you. And hopefully you'll get a chance to respond nicely, in kind.
If you are Spanish, you say, "Jesus."

I posted earlier with scripture from paul, peter, john, jude, and Jesus, all giving blessings. So today, we don't all go around formally saying, 'grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father', we DO sometimes just simply say God Bless You. Basically the same sentiment in a nutshell. For the believer, He has, He does, and He will bless us, and we're simply expressing continuance in the blessings. For the un-believer, we're expressing a desire for God to touch their lives, that blessings and goodness and mercy come from Him. And, no we're not asking to be blessed FOR our sinfulness, but DESPITE it, because of Jesus. It's a simple act of kindness to seek God's blessings for another, and a simple act of thanks and worship to express it verbally, I believe I hope I pray. So, ... ~GBY ... JLY ... PTL~
~God Bless You ... Jesus Loves You ... Praise The Lord~

Ignorance is not an act of love. I would feed you and clothe you and win you to Christ but i will not operate ignorantly. God doesnt operate on ignorance.
Words alone are cheap, but sharing a blessing is a good start, and hardly ignorant. Hate much?

I'm so glad, jen, as that's how it was intended, but my sometimes off sense of humor sometimes gets taken the wrong way 'round these parts. (Of course, most of the time it's just not funny, but that's a different story). So thanks for saying you got a chuckle. Can I buy you a cup of coffee? (oh, I'm sorry, I thought I heard you sneeze) Ahh, let's quit the small talk, if you're not doing anything later, wanna get married? No? That's ok. Here, have a tissue. :)

Apparently, he forgot to bless you with humility and love!!!

I dont know about you but i dont love devils. Humility and love? A liying tongue HATETH those that are aflicted by it. I preach the truth, any real believer would rejoice with me in the word of God and not the opinions of men.
How can we love others when we were never love?

Fortunately, we have Jesus! May He have mercy on us!
Amen. JESUS IS MINE!

i can share a couple blessings with you here.
I am crucified with Christ.
I am made a new creature in Christ Jesus my Lord.
I am a son of God in Christ.
I glory in tribulations also knowing that tribulation worketh patience and patience, experience, and experience, hope and hope maketh not ashamed.
All things are mine. And i am Christ's and Christ is God's.
I am an ambassador for Christ.
I hzve received the inheritance in him, all riches and wisdom, just waiting for the redemption of the purchased possession.

Just to name a few.

May the LORD give you increase,
you and your children!
May you be blessed by the LORD,
who made heaven and earth!

(Psalm 115:14-15)

we don't know who wrote this Psalm, but there it is, in scripture, for our edification :)

Do you think "God Speed" would be similar, or different?

2John 1:10-11 (KJV)
10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed:
11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
No, that is different.

Saying God Bless You to someone is saying that you hope that God Blesses them in a way that they will gain 'this doctrine'.

Excellent, posthuman! 'May you be blessed by the Lord' ... as in, GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you, brother.

may God richly bless you too!!

here's another, that maybe you've sung --

The Lord said to Moses,
“Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.' "
So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
(Numbers 6:22-27)

As it is written: If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar."

The only truth that saves is Jesus who is meek and lowly in heart. He is the living fountain from which we can drink freely.

He would never reject those who look toward Him. May the Lord bless you with humility and love!
