We are told we are to call others out when they are walking improperly in the faith just as Apostle Paul called out Peter, the Corinthians, the Galatians, and the Ephesians when they were not acting properly or doing right in the faith.

Yes as was stated even by me. For Scripture outlines this, but it is where you stated "If they are doing this against you," that I am pointing out the Words insight.. I am not saying we as Christians don't act. On the contrary, I am calling us to act confidently under the right Spirit for the right reasons.

Are not they not both from One God? Why separate them with an either/or statement? Obedience is ours, the promises to us are from God Almighty not to ourselves.
our walk is a walk of faith on God's promises. ..just as Abraham did before the law of Moses.
Besides I only quoted Paul...take it up with him.

True, but why do we ever want to separate God's spoken words from other spoke words from the same One? Is that not a vain exercise?

Its come to my attention that these law threads are debated and feelings are hurt, anger ensues, because nobody addressee the reason why God wrote the law.
I seen 2 almost answers imo on why but to me no one has hit the nail on the head and if they did do they understand what it means......

How about instead of giving my opinion. or someone elses opinion, we just take what the word of God says about this question. Would not that be the smart and sensible thing to do?

Gal 3:[SUP]19 [/SUP]What purpose then does the law serve?

It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. [SUP]22 [/SUP]But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. [SUP]23 [/SUP]But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Now unless we want to say Paul is not someone with whom we should listen to. No one can argue, because these are pauls words. Which are inspired words of God, thus they are Gods words.

Gal 3: [SUP]0 [/SUP]For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”[SUP][e][/SUP] [SUP]11 [/SUP]But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”[SUP][f][/SUP] [SUP]12 [/SUP]Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”[SUP][g][/SUP] [SUP]13 [/SUP]Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[SUP][h][/SUP]), [SUP]14 [/SUP]that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

either we accept what Paul proclaimed under the inspiritation of God. or we continue to make our own interpretation and our own view.

As for me, I will follow what Paul said, not what Just me or anyone else wants me to see.

Many times we hear that there are only 2 laws that Jesus endorsed and that is to love God, and love our neighbor as ourselves. .

Who says this? No one claims this, this is a misrepresentation of not only what Jesus himself said, but what we all say.

IN THOSE TWO COMMANDS HANG ALL THE LAW,

in other words. as long as we do these two commands, we will obey every command ever given in the law.

[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[SUP][d][/SUP] [SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and great commandment. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP][e][/SUP] [SUP]40 [/SUP]On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

your argument is with Jesus.

Look at my post #319

Hebrews 8:10-11King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Isn't what I made bold exactly what the followers of the law are doing, trying to teach the law?

Was Paul teaching against the law (in all of his epistles) while he worshiped believing all things that were written in it? Acts 24:14

If Paul was worshiping accordingly does that make his a teacher and follower of the law in your opinion? What will you do during the millennial period when the feast of tabernacles will be observes on an annual bases?

Seems like some have a problem in distinguishing God's dealings with Israel under the Sinaiatic Covenant and the Church under the New Covenant...it does take some study.

you do understand the gentiles were never given the law, only Israel. as said earlier, Abraham ,Noah did not have the law, they were called righteous. notice in John 3 how many times Jesus said believe. nothing about the law. you are correct in the fact that the Torah teaches about God, but we are enabled to do these things, do right I mean, by grace. belief leads to behavior, not behavior leads to belief. by the way, for the 3rd time I ask you do understand the Bible IS NOT A BOOK. it is series of books. written by dozens of people over 100's of years. is that truth or not??? answer please.

Yeah all these people who were holy, set apart and righteous, who never had the law..wonder how they managed that if the law is so needed to make us holy people.

Like I said, take it up with Paul...Gal 3:1-6

I did. Paul speaking here................

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: Acts 24:14

1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? [SUP]2 [/SUP]This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Does this mean that the apostle to us Gentiles is double minded? I think not.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

amen the same jesus who gave abraham and noah and adam and seth and many many others the power to be holy and righteous people without the law. can make us holy and righteous without the law. We can walk as noah and abraham did, Without the law.

Because God gave the lw for one reason (see gal 3) thats why we can walk with God holy and righteous, apart from following the law (in reality all the law can do is condemn us, for that was its true purpose to begin with)

1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:3
It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

Hebrews 13:20-21
May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 2:15
For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.

Ephesians 5:15-20
Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Good post Ken, ... I do not understand why some people are freaking out this thread. I realize that BEFORE I was born again I didn't think like this.. but now that I am born again.... "How does anybody say I LOVE God, and then not DO what God says to do???".... and be stubbornly UNCORRECTABLE about the same principal?

Next question, is our salvation at risk if we do not keep the statutes of the Law? Is that a fair question? Oh darn, thats two questions. :P

PS: So your answer is basically that there are natural consequences to sin. Good answer.

Agreed, I do not get why he sees to think anyone thinks otherwise.

Are not they both from One God? Why separate them with an either/or statement? Obedience is ours, the promises to us are from God Almighty not to ourselves.

yet one was given to confine all under sin.

the other was given to guide with Gods power the way to maturity.

So why do we want to make them both on equal grounds as able to do the same finction when they were never intended to do such a thing.

it is like trying to take a care and use it as a boat. you will sink. Each thing must be taken as it was designed, or it will fail to do what it was intended to do.

So? Paul was a Jew and worshipped the True God and believed the Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ...
Galatians 3:24-25 KJV
[24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [25] But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

True, but why do we ever want to separate God's spoken words from other spoke words from the same One? Is that not a vain exercise?

no, what the vein excercise is to take one thing out of context, and not for what it was given for. and try to make it work.

there is a reason it is said so many places that law and grace/ works and grace will never mix, it is like trying to mix water and oil. all you will have is a disaster.

I will answer with scripture on this one. "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16

I sincerely believe if the desire to be obedient to God isn't present in our heart, that salvation is not present either. Therefore it is confirmed in scripture that disobedience confirms sin unto death.

"Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22b

Would you care to answer my question now referencing to Paul's form of worship?

Next?

You kind of skipped over a point in the question and so let me restate it. Must we maintain our salvation, besides the fact that we must continue to believe (which a believer will do)? If your answer is yes, how do you maintain it?

Exceptional point. Righteousness has always been by faith.

amen.

And is given through love and grace,

We love BECAUSE GOD LOVED US FIRST.

I do not obey Gods commands because the law tells me to. I obey Gods commands because I learned the law of love, And gods love flowing through me causes me to serve people. not take from people. and not to serve self.

the law of love, on these two commands HANG ALL THE LAW..
