so then the person who only had 9 animals would not have to pay the income tax.
Tithes weren't based on the number of animals a person had, but on how many were born in a year, ie God's increase. Tithes weren't a tax based on what a person earned, but were God's portion of the increase that he gave.

As far as I can tell through scripture, the tenth newborn animal was the tithe; not 10% of 9 animals. I assume tenth animal means every tenth animal instead of just the tenth animal that was counted.

once again, It was like an income tax. Because it was collected and used for the nation of Israel. like our income taxes are taken and used for the united states.

the base income tax in the US is 30% so if you take this, and add 10% and give that to the church as a tithe. then also give your offerings of whatever that is. you have a person giving almost 50 % of his or her income to his government and the church.\

Most people can not afford this..

I have seen people go bankrupt because they refuse to stop tithing, even though their income did nto allow it..

Once again, it wasn't based on what a person earned, which is what income taxes are. Tithes were based on what God gave them, the tenth part being his to return to him. What people earned via their labors was there's to keep 100%.

That's why people need to understand that the tithe was not an income tax. There's no justification for preachers to turn it into one

It was an income tax to the jews.

That means that the gentiles do not need to do it.

Its not that complicated

If tithes were for the NT church, it would have been written about somewhere, but it isn't.
For instance, we all know Paul was takin up offerings for the poor church at Jerusalem. Yet Paul asked for no tithes to help them.
No church was asked to share of their tithes to Jerusalem.
In fact, tithing is mentioned nowhere in the NT as a command or teaching. It was mentioned historically in Hebrews once.
Surely Paul, an apostle to the gentiles, would have taught it to gentiles because they were ignorant of NT doctrine.

If hasn't been put forth 1 Tim 5

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

While I'd defer to a Hebrew scholar, the way I read the text, it is every tenth animal (of each kind), period; not just the newborns from that year.

We were told to give cheerfully, whatever our hearts tell us to give... unless, of course, you are a Hebrew, still trying to keep the old law.

God the Father commanded the Law for Tithes & Offerings.
In man's understanding it is very clear what a 10% is.

But this is God the Father the way he Speaks.
EZEKIEL 20:49
49
Then said I, Ah Lord God! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

PSALMS 78:2
2
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Tithes & Offerings is a Parable and a Dark Saying of Old.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is what the Apostles of Christ did, when the Lord Jesus Christ said about the Temple.
They waited until the Lord Jesus reveal it to them what the Temple meaning is.

The Law in Tithes & Offerings must be obeyed today but in God's revelation and not after Man's understanding.

This is what God the Father said;
ECCLESIASTES 1:9
9
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
