i can answer a couple of dans questions, i don't think the locust was a bug i think it is like a bean grows in a pea pod like shell. The reason i think it is ideal, in the beginning, God said it shall be meat. Genesis 1:29. BTW i don't think Jesus took part in that tradition of eating lamb at passover, at the last supper He ate bread.

Whatttt hmmmm did no Jesus eat fish

Very good point!

Besides, the main reason for the dietary laws was to keep HIS Chosen People away from the Pagan Feasts that frequently ended up in drunken orgies. REMEMBER a Jew was considered defiled if he so much as set foot into a gentile's house. The secondary reason was due to the lack or refrigeration, it protected them from animals known to carry major diseases of the day. HOWEVER, THE MAJOR REASON REMAINS, to keep the race pure UNTIL Messiah could come from the Line of DAVID. Don't you think Satan had a very active part in using those Pagan Feasts to tempt God's People in so that he (Satan) could pollute the race so that Messiah could not come purely through the line of DAVID as planned?

When GOD wanted the Two Peoples to become ONE (Jews and Gentiles); GOD Himself ended the Dietary Laws, otherwise Peter would have had to REFUSE to go into the house of Cornelius.

Acts 10:10-16 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;
[SUP]11 [/SUP] and he *saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground,
[SUP]12 [/SUP] and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!"
[SUP]14 [/SUP] But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean."
[SUP]15 [/SUP] Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."
[SUP]16 [/SUP] This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.

THAT barrier Peter mentioned in verse 14, extended even to entering a gentiles house because unclean animals were consumed there. It would have PREVENTED Peter from even going to Cornelius' house. HENCE AFTER GOD ENDED THE DEITARY LAWS, GOD INSPIRED PAUL TO SAY:

Lemme see here...

Act 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

First of all it was a vision. Secondly, Peter's reaction was not to run downstairs and order up surf and turf with a shrimp cocktail appetizer.

It was not readily apparetn to Peter what the vision meant. He didn't assume it made all meat clean to eat.

1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NKJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;
[SUP]5 [/SUP] for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Now you emphasized the "nothing is to be refused" part, but what about the part that says this?

for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Where do we find the meats that were sanctified?

Lev 11 and Deut 14.

This does not contradict what God said about nothing passing from the Law because nothing did.

I know that about now, those who disagree with me are thinking, but that contradicts what Jesus said about not one jot or tittle shall pass from the LAW. AND that is TRUE, unless GOD Himself gives us an EXCEPTION to that rule.

Has Jesus not been our High Priest ever since the beginning of the Church?

What Tribe is Jesus from? Correct, He is called the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!
Then the Priesthood changed from the Tribe of Levi to the Tribe of Judah, didn't it?

Hebrews 7:12-14 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.

Heb 7:4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Abraham tithed to the High Priest Melchisidec, not the sons of Aaron (they did not exist yet).

Heb 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

According to what Law did they receive tithes from the people? This one?

Lev 13:59 This is the law of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or woof, or any thing of skins, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

Of course not. Paul (I beleive the writer of the book is Paul and will continue to refer to him as the author) here is speaking to the Law which gave the Priesthood authority. It is nonsensical to take verse 12 out of context and apply it to the entirety of the Ten Commandments and the Book of the Law.

Heb 7:6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

Notice here we are talking about heredity, not the Law about eating blood.

Heb 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.
Heb 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Referring back to Melchisidec receiving tithes of Abraham and that He is now alive evermore.

Heb 7:9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
Heb 7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Now right about here let's ask ourselves what is being discussed in this passage? DNA, heredity, the Priesthood and who could be a Priest...

Num 18:1 And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
Num 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Here is the Law that was changed, not done away with, notice it was changed? What part of it was changed?

Heb 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

The Law was relayed to the people through Moses. The why of that is another thread topic.

Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

Now what Commandment went before concerning the Priesthood? Num 18. Why was it weak and unprofitable?

Heb 7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Word for carnal here is

G4559
σαρκικός
sarkikos
sar-kee-kos'
From G4561; pertaining to flesh, that is, (by extension) bodily, temporal, or (by implication) animal, unregenerate: - carnal, fleshly.

Means fleshly, human, temporary. The human fleshly Priesthood was limited, but Christ (the High Priest after the order of Melchisidec) is unlimited. He is God. Thayer sheds more light on the meaning here...

Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

The Law concerning the Aaronical Priesthood made nothing perfect, the only sacrifices they could offer were animal sacrifices...

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Heb 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Paul wrote the book of Hebrews to the Hebrews to help them understand and accept the change of the Priesthood from the Aaronical, levitical Priesthood to that of Jesus Christ. To the Gentiles, this was not a big leap, they had not been raised under the Levitical Priesthood and it wasn't a part of their life from birth. To the Israelites, this was very difficult to understand how a Priesthood that had established by God and had been in place almost 1500 years could be changed*.

*Note: The Law is changed, not done away with. Christ is now the High Priest. Christ is the one who GAVE the Law and will not compromise with it one iota. To replace the Aaronical High Priest, He changed the Law (He actually changed the APPLICATION of the Law) because He would not and will not violate it.

What was the diet before sin ?

What was the diet before God dstroy the world by flood ?

What will be the diet in God kingdom for man and animals ?

God's ideal diet isn't tofu and eggplant, and it's not duck jerky and tuna steaks either.

"My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."
(John 4:34)

The crux of the matter...

1Co 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

1Ti 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

i can answer a couple of dans questions, i don't think the locust was a bug i think it is like a bean grows in a pea pod like shell. BTW i don't think Jesus took part in that tradition of eating lamb at passover, at the last supper He ate bread.

It is a grasshopper.

Oh, so Christ on the very night BEFORE He replaced the Paschal Lamb as the perfect sacrifice disqualified Himself by not observing the Passover correctly? I'll bet not...

Mat 26:19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

What Passover? They knew nothing of the bread and wine, those symbols had not been instituted yet.

Mat 26:20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
Mat 26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
Mat 26:22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
Mat 26:23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

Eating from the communal bowl. Notice that He includes himself as having had.

Notice the account in Mark...

Mar 14:17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.
Mar 14:18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
Mar 14:19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
Mar 14:20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.
Mar 14:21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
Mar 14:22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
Mar 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Mar 14:25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Mar 14:26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

Here we see that after they had eaten the Passover, Christ instituted the New Testament Passover of the bread and wine.

Sure He ate meat.

Brother, you don't believe the locusts mentioned in the Bible were insects but that they were beans? Also, that Jesus ate bread, not lamb etc. at the Passover? Oi vey! Keep jumping through those hoops.

You can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say, if you take it out of context, like you do here. It's not a matter of salvation but at least be honest about it.

this is true ↑

one might as well read:

So the three mighty warriors broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out before the LORD.
(2 Samuel 23:16)

and say that the Bible says not to drink water.

:p

wow but that's ridiculous!

you think Egypt suffered a plague of beans that ate every green thing in the land?

you think Christ didn't properly observe the Passover?

you think maybe you're stretching things a little bit?

if you don't want to eat meat, that's fine. no need to twist scripture over it though.

i have always found the issue of food and morals found in scripture fascinating. the reason why is 25 or so years ago i worked here,,, Houston Chronicle Top Workplaces 2012 - RiceTec, Inc ,,if you click on the photo of the farm at the top of the picture is a building(same one in the other photo),,,behind the building are 5 greenhouses(that is where i worked),,,

the (mass produced)food supply in general is the same as rice in the way it's developed. seeds are grown as hybrid/g.m.o.,,or hybrid(there is a difference),,,but there is a large process most do not know of Genetically modified rice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia my concern was in "at which point is the food we are giving thanks for,not the food god created" ?,,,,

Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those that have jointed legs above their feet, with which to hop on the ground.
Of them you may eat: the locust of any kind, the bald locust of any kind, the cricket of any kind, and the grasshopper of any kind.
But all other winged insects that have four feet are detestable to you.
(Leviticus 11:21-23) ESV

boy howdy, sure doesn't sound to me like he's talking about beans.

yes thats Leviticus 11;20-23,,,,don't ask me how i knew that,,lol,,he names the "bat"(fowl=4 legs) in lev. 19 as not to be eaten,,the only other thing would be a "pterodactyl"(just sprinkle salt on his tail to catch him, lol)

I am not sure if you know what horseradish really is? It is a root vegtable, . . .

You are talking to an ex-farm boy, from Nebraska. When we grew up, we ALWAYS had a HUGE garden too. And yes we we raised horseradish too. I would rather have creamed horseradish (the hotter the better) on my luncheon meat and cheese sandwiches than mayo.

Sorry, but you are wrong about where the name came from:

[h=2]It seems to be an English corruption of the German word for it[/h]
[TABLE="class: answer_segment, width: 100%"]

[TD="colspan: 2"]More recent appreciation of horseradish is believed to have originated in Central Europe, the area also linked to the most widely held theory of how horseradish was named. In German, it’s called "meerrettich" (sea radish) because it grows by the sea. Many believe the English mispronounced the German word "meer" and began calling it"mareradish." Eventually it became known as horseradish. The word "horse" (as applied in "horseradish") is believed to denote large size and coarseness. "Radish" comes from the Latin radix meaning root.

Fact, I have eaten fried grasshoppers. Fact, they tasted like burnt french fries. They were sold canned in Delicacy section of the grocery store.

When my Uncle was a little boy, his Mom, my Grandmother caught him eating boxelder bugs that were crawling on the foundation of the house. She PANICKED and called the Dr. and asked what to do. The Dr. told her to tell him, "Next time try them with a little salt."

Haven't tried grasshoppers but they are clean.

Daniel asked to eat only vegetables . Specifically pea pod beans . those kinds of beans . I think you can figure it out by using a Strong's concordance, and looking up the related words used in that place. And maybe try the Smith's Bible dictionary to see if it says anything. Vegetables may be ideal, but we're allowed to eat meat, so long as its clean , following those guidelines given by God in those scriptures.

And yes, I know people take some scriptures of out context to try and down play the health laws importance, but its not the case. Its written, and its important for maintaining decent physical health . To avoid getting sick . It beats all those hospital visits.

I actually pray over all the food I eat. Therefore I am Thanking God for all of it. Well . . . everything except onions that is, they should have been left in the ground where GOD put them. :) Actually it is the raw onion juice that has an acid in it that does not agree with my stomach, and if it goes down, it comes right back up. I actually do use Onion and Garlic Salt; and occasionally dried onion chips.

What kind of prayer do I use to bless my food before eating it? Actually it is a mixture of a traditional Jewish prayer and a modern prayer.

"Thanks be to GOD, King of Universe, who brings forth food from the earth and meat to eat. Lord may You bless this food to strengthen our bodies. AMEN"

keep laughing and ridiculing doesn't work, its witch craft, trying to make me doubt my belief and trying to make others think i'm as ignorant, as your trying to make me out to be. we'll see who laughs last.
