We also can be confident that the apostles were still using water to baptize people as the examples in chapter 8 with Phillip and chapter ten with Peter shows plainly.
often we interpret away things that aren’t meant to be interpreted away but other times we just haven’t noticed it so we think things we were always taught in church whichever denomination we might attend have variances of doctrine regarding baptism
I have my own belief that baptism never changed but when Jesus was glorified he shed his spirit into the world and that’s johns reference to “he shall baptize you with the spirit “

And really there isn’t a statement in the Bible saying “ if anyone believes and doesn’t get baptized they are lost “ so I find just discussing the proper doctrines that are definately there in scripture is the best way to go in a discussion .

My point is maby the discussion about baptism shouldn’t be “ is it required for salvation ?” But instead “ what does the bible teach baptism is for in Christ ?”
Then when people hear what it’s about maby the whole questions about getting baptized would just dissipate and people would act in faith hearing about it and not having to argue and defend it and debate “ is it absolutely required ?”
