First of all God talks to me EVERYDAY
I know it is Him because He speaks to my heart and helps me to understand things clearer because I invite Him into my heart
And sometimes there is a clear voice although most times I feel His presence and also feel very connected spiritually...<<feelings

As Ella's signature points out, love drives out fear. We know that God is love, and that He loves us. God drives out fear, and if it is His voice, or His desire for you, that fear will be driven out too.
The devil uses fear to try and prevent God's peace. So I find that often while following God, I will have fear hit me hard and fast and then God will go to work restoring a "peace that passes understanding".
I don't put a whole lot of value on signs, as it seems that they are often driven by our minds, not the holy spirit in us. On just a couple of occasions, God has spoken to me so clearly that I had no doubt. In the rest of the times, I would say that it is a combination of knowing God's character, and following peace.

I know its him talking for two reasons,1 because its almost always encouragement and good direction 2 its always a small whisper. While if it was my own voice it would not be a whisper and if its satan its also not a whisper and is always condemning and saying negative things- he does this a lot I hear him more than I do God

I would say He speaks to me through the Bible and books. Though a few times I hear Him clearly, but if I am not sure I open a book or my Bible and it answers my thoughts or confirms something. Or if I feel like He is telling me something I do this too and He uses other things to confirm it again even if He answered it, probably to say how urgent it is or warn me.
Excellent and a lot of people miss the still small voice that God speaks in when dealing with all of us.......good points HAHAHH

Thanks for all of the replies everyone! I started this topic because I wasn't sure if God had actually spoken to me or if it was my own voice in my head. Basically, I was driving back home from school. It's a pretty long-ish drive so I decided I was gonna talk/pray to God during the drive. I was talking to God about my problems and things that were bothering me in my life (not having a job was one of them), when suddenly I heard a voice in my head say "It's okay son." At first I thought oh it's probably just me telling myself that everything is going to be okay, but then I thought to myself, wait a minute... why would I call myself, son? So that's when I thought that maybe it was Jesus speaking to me. What do you guys think? Also, that happened a couple weeks ago too and I am now employed haha!

God has been talking to me for years. I saw jesus in the spirit one day and he's never left me. I can see God jesus and the Holy Spirit they play around with me tell me jokes but I know it's him because it lines up with the bible and when I go to church everything fits together. Yeah the bible says no one has seen God and lived but he's just doing it because he likes me I guess but I've been hearing him 24/7 for 5 years now if God has talked to anyone it's me for sure. I can hear his actual voice and I can see him. It's cool and all but I still have to carry my cross and go through horrible things i guess it's the price I have to pay to be able to hang out with God.

Well #1 God has a sweet voice and he tells me things that r true and right, and that makes me feel better the devil says thing to make u down and out an negative stuff.
