After I had gotten saved; I messed up one night and fooled around with my then boyfriend. I felt so guilty and ashamed and prayed for God to forgive me. I felt like he had, but then I let it happen again. So once again I prayed for forgiveness. I ended up breaking up with him. I got back into another relationship months after that one, and once again I let it happen with my boyfriend at that time. I felt dirty and guilty again and prayed for forgiveness again. I broke up with that one also. I ended up getting baptized again a month later but because I felt I didn't understand what it truly meant the first time nor did I completely understand the Trinity. Its been almost a year now, and I havent committed that immoral sin again, and I have no want to until marriage. But did I backslide on the Lord? Am I still saved since I repented and have meant it? I do not believe in once saved always saved. I do know you can lose your salvation. Do I need to be baptized again since my second baptism was because I now had then understand what it meant?

In this case your guilty because you think you know what you're doing. Just realize you need to listen to your conscience first even if you have sex.

It's that simple.

1 John 1:9 NKJV
[9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness.

Say sorry, ask for forgiveness, ask Jesus for help to ovecome.
If you mean it he will know your heart. Then move on and put it behind you and
stop beating yourself up about it.

The Holy Spirit brings conviction leading to repentance.

Satan the accuser tempts, leads astray, brings conviction then condemnation.

If you have repented and said sorry that is the end of the matter. If you still
feel condemnation it isn't from Jesus.

We all do things wrong, say things wrong, think things wrong, don't do things
we should do etc. A true born again Christian will only too keenly be aware of
this as their conscience will be tender. You have already been forgiven Jesus
paid the price on the cross for you.

When things happen that tender conscience will tell you. Keep short accounts with
God, when things come to mind say sorry, repent, be thankful for what Jesus has
done for you, pray for strength and a teachable soft heart and move on.

Jesus no longer condemns you.

This does not mean we can do whatever we like and just say sorry without meaning it
and then just keep living in sin. It would be impossible for a true born again Christian
to do that anyway, their conscience would not let them.

But the fact that you have a tender conscience means you are not like that, the spirit is
bringing you to a place of conviction so you can keep short accounts with God and move on.

God bless
x

Romans 8:1-2 NLT
[1] So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
[2] And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed
you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:1-2 NKJV
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who
do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. [2] For the law of
the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Philippians 1:3-6 NKJV
[3] I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, [4] always in every prayer
of mine making request for you all with joy, [5] for your fellowship in the gospel
from the first day until now, [6] being confident of this very thing, that He
who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

If you have repented, then God forgives your sin. Even if you fail, so long as you get back up and try to obey God and live according to his Word.

This doesn't just apply to "big" sins, either! I have this bad habit of running orange lights when I am driving. With each light I sought God and repented. I thought I was back to obeying the Lord. Then I would run the next orange light. I was kicking myself. I wanted to be pleasing to God and I was not!

I finally stopped appropriately near the end of the trip, and I felt such relief in my soul! I was no longer disobedient to God and the laws of my country. It was never about getting caught and getting a ticket. So that is my battle, which the Holy Spirit is helping me overcome.

So again, it is not about getting caught for you, it is about acknowledging the guilt and conviction in your heart, going to God to confess your sins, and keeping you eyes fixed on Jesus.

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB

God has forgiven you, now you need to learn how to forgive yourself!

You repented. You don't do it anymore and you confessed it as sin so now it's done away.
Don't forget to break soul ties. I had a demon of lust kicked out after I had done that.
For an eventually next time: only date someone who has God first and protects you and only sees you out in the open or with others or something. Telling someone you don't want that doesn't work. Set very clear boundaries so you can't possibly get into temptation.

You would be surprised how many people have had affairs and sex out of marriage in the bible that were saved...
David slept with a woman, then had her husband killed...
Yet God said he was a man after Gods heart.
But be careful, others have made the same mistake and found themselves wasted in ashes... What matters is your heart, if you honestly come to God and want Him to save you and follow Him with your full heart then you are in great shape :)
If I were you I would try to keep from being alone with a man you find sexually attractive.

For a little story: my dog loves to eat my loafs of bread but, only when I leave the house. So when she is alone at home I make sure she has no possible chance to get them. I keep her on the strait an narrow (if you will). Just do the same... It is easier to stay on a path when others are watching... :)
And when they are not watching, keep away from temptation. And what really helps me is Matthew 11:28-30

Perhaps you have "back-slidden" in the past but the more important thing to remember is that you are not that person anymore because you are now asking about your relationship with God. A "back-slidden" Christian in the past is a moot point compared to a Christian who is currently looking to strengthen their relationship with God.

I sin daily, sometimes I commit the same sin day after day, but I have faith that my Lord will forgive me, and use everything I do to teach me, to make me a better servant for His cause in the long run.

This is a serious matter and no one should take it lightly, but you seem to be regretful and God will surely forgive you. Follow Coby's advice: "only date someone who has God first and protects you".

You don't need to baptized again any, more than Jesus needs to get back on the cross and die again. Once is enough.

If you want to wait until marriage, then you have to date a man who has the same values.

Learn and grow and strengthen your faith with virtue, knowledge and self control. Ground yourself in the Bible and keep yourself from temptation.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Don't be baptized again, for the Bible says you will put the Son of God to open shame, and there is no need for you to be rebaptized, for you did not fall away, but you sinned, and all you have to do is repent of that sin,and it is forgiven.

I believe when it says fall away that they stopped believing the truth of the Bible, and then believed it again in the future, but you did not fall away, but you dabbled a little bit in sin,but once you repent of that sin,and vow not to do it again,it is forgiven.

An example of fall away,is the Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:1-5,that some shall depart from the faith, the truth of the Bible, and follow an interpretation that is not in the truth, which the Bible is talking of the new age movement, which interprets the Bible according to evolution, and the occult, nature worship, and witchcraft, that honors the God of forces, the evolutionary process, instead of a personal God.

That interpretation will become so popular, that the Bible says in 2 Timothy 4:2-4,that the time will come when people will not endure the truth of the Bible, but according to their own lusts, which means they want personal power, which they believe they will be able to harness the power of nature someday, and that is why they are waiting for the New Age Christ, and they will turn their ears from the truth, and be turned unto fables, which the occult, and all that jazz,is all the imaginations of people.

Then the Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4,that the saints will not be gathered unto Christ, until there is a falling away first, and the man of sin,who is their New Age Christ, steps in to the newly rebuilt temple of Israel, and claim to be God by harnessing the power of nature.

God is going to give the world 7 years to have their way,and cause all people that do not love Him,to follow the beast kingdom, then He will put them down,so that falling away is when they will not endure the truth of the Bible, but want to hear it according to their own lusts, which will occur during the first three and one half years,of that 7 years period, and will prepare the way for the man of sin, which he will be of the new age movement.

So we see that a falling away of people is when they will not believe the Bible according to the truth,or not believe it at all, which you have not done.

As long as you believe the Bible according to the truth,or do not depart from it,you did not fall away, and if you sin all you have to do is repent of it,for the Bible says if we sin we have an advocate with the Father, and that is our mediator Jesus Christ.

But if you do dabble in sin,and do not give it up in your heart,or you did give it up temporarily, but want to do it in the future, then repentance is not truly repentance.

But if you stay in sin for a while, while you are not doing right, even if you engaged in it for a year, you can still be forgiven for it,but of course that is a gamble many people would not want to take.

I got a good chuckle out of that. I used to think the same thing. I'd find myself speeding and worry that I had sinned. I thought that one must keep all man-made laws to stay saved.
It sure was awfully hard, from my viewpoint, to stay saved - virtually impossible.
Then, as I matured, kept studying, I realized how silly that actually is.
Think about it, Angela, man has a plethora of laws that have nothing to do with God, the bible, and keeping God's two commandments.
So what is, exactly, the tie-in to a believer and breaking man's law/s?
Render unto Caesar..........The thing is, we can break man-made laws with impunity as far as being saved goes. As long as they don't also transgress God's law.
How so, Phil? That doesn't make sense!
Ah, but it does. See, if we break the law, we must pay the penalty man levies for that transgression. And we have no business asking God to help us. He told us to render unto Caesar. That is not God's jurisdiction. By running stop lights, speeding, not paying income tax, you have broken no biblical law. But you have put yourself under the jurisdiction of our legal system and consequently must pay due penalties to the courts., whether it be fines or jail.
I would venture to say that most believers don't understand that.

Then maybe you can help me to understand what Revelation 2:5 means.............. "Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."

Then maybe you can help me to understand what Revelation 2:5 means.............. "Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
Remember
Remembering is the first in a three-step process. All three steps (remember, repent, and do the first works) are in the imperative tense: remember! . . . repent! . . . do! The Ephesians were commanded to go back in their minds to an earlier time when their motivation and fellowship with Christ had been different.
An important function of festivals, signs, and altars is to help men remember the earlier works of God and the dedications they made (Gen. Gen. 9:15-16; Num. Num. 15:39-40; Deu. Deu. 16:13; Jos. Jos. 22:10, Jos. 22:27-28).
repent
If the Ephesian church were to repent and return to their first love, they would find that God is also once again closer to them (Zec. Zec. 1:3).
Properly speaking, metanoein is “to know after” as pronoein is “to know before”; metanoia is “afterknowledge” . . . The next step that metanoia signifies is the change of mind that results from this afterknowledge. Thus Tertullian wrote: “In the Greek language the word for repentance is not derived from the admission of a fault but from a change of mind.” . . . Last of all metanoia signifies a resulting change of conduct. . . . Only in Scripture and in the works of those who were dependent on Scripture does metanoia predominantly refer to a change of mind, to taking a wiser view of the past, to “the soul’s perception of the wicked things it has done.”[SUP]1[/SUP]
Repentance includes a recognition of wrong-doing together with a decision to move in a different direction: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts Acts 3:19). from where you have fallen
Their current estate is said to be lower than before. As they drifted apart from God in their relationship, their spiritual state also declined. have fallen is in the perfect tense—the fall had already taken place, but Jesus is concerned with their present spiritual condition.
do the first works
The Ephesian church was not lacking in works, but the motivation for the works had changed and was now adversely affecting the results. “Not the quantity, but the quality, of . . . works was now other and worse than once it had been.”[SUP]2[/SUP] How often has this been the case in Christian history when works of mercy, intended to exhibit the character of Christ and to point people to the solution of their ultimate need, suffer a gradual reduction in their zeal and focus on Christ. The result is that the Christian organization becomes just one more social institution doing “good works,” but failing to engage the culture with the priority of salvation.
The solution is found in retracing our steps back to where we went astray and calling upon the Lord as we did at the first. After straying in Egypt, Abraham returned to “the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abraham called on the name of the Lord” (Gen. Gen. 13:3-4).
But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (Heb. Heb. 10:32-35) [emphasis added]
Instantly, let us say, this is not a call to “Christian service” or “renewed activity.” Ephesus had toil, patience, intolerance toward evil, patience in suffering,—everything. But the “first works” are the goings forth of affection to Christ, freely, devotedly, as in our first love.

You cannot lose your salvation! It is a FREE gift. You cannot work for what Christ did for you in fact God is insulted that you would try. Works are a result of a changed heart done by the Holy Spirit. God is the author and the finisher of your faith. You are called to walk in faith and do as Christ has instructed you. Walk in obedience meaning you dont go out and do things he has said are rebellion against him. You read your bible to renew your mind so that you grow in Christ and learn to walk in the spirit and not after the flesh. Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God .Romans 10:17
You dont NEED to get baptized because it doesnt save you. But if want to it wont hurt anything!

"

  • Jesus said in John 8:29, "And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him."
  • John 6:39, "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day."
In John 8:29, we can clearly see that Jesus always does the will of the Father. So if Jesus always does the will of the Father and the will of the Father is that Jesus lose none and also raise all those to glory who had been given to Him by the Father (John 6:39), then salvation cannot be lost. Otherwise, Jesus sinned by failing to do the will of the Father. Remember, it is the will of the Father that Jesus lose none, not that Christians don't lose their own salvation of their "own free will." Again, if someone loses his salvation, then Jesus failed to do the will of the Father because it would mean He has lost some and that He will also fail to raise up to glory those who have been given to Him by the Father. This just cannot be.
But some say that the will of the Father is that people not sin but they do, so the will of the Father is not always done. In this respect, that is true. However, the verses deal with the will of the Father for Jesus--not for us.
In addition to the two verses above, which are extremely powerful, consider the following:

  • John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
  • John 10: 7-28, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand."
  • 1 John 2:19, "They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us."
[h=2]Is this a license to sin?[/h]A common accusation made against the position that we are eternally secure in Christ is that it becomes a license to sin. The problem with this accusation is that it ignores God's active regeneration in us. In other words, critics of our security in Christ routinely ignore the fact that God changes the sinner. He makes us born again, and we are made new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17). As new creatures, we have God living in us (John 14:23), and, therefore, we cannot abide in sin: "No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God," (1 John 3:9).
So, the teaching that we cannot lose our salvation is not a license to sin.
[h=2]The danger of keeping salvation by doing works[/h]Whether or not you can lose your salvation is important because if someone believes he can lose his salvation, then he might fall into the error of trying to keep his salvation by what he does or does not do. This is a serious heresy (Gal. 3:1-3). In other words, if a person can lose his salvation, then what list of things must he do and not do in order to keep it? If there is such a list, then the person is guilty of achieving salvation by keeping the law. But this contradicts Romans 3:28 and Romans 4:1-5.
The proper understanding of salvation is that works play no part in it (Rom. 4:5) and it is a free gift (Rom. 6:23) and that it is received by faith (Eph. 2:8-9). Once we are saved, we are to live a holy life (1 Thess. 4:7).
Fortunately, believing you can or cannot lose your salvation does not affect your salvation. That is, your salvation is dependent upon accepting Jesus as Savior, trusting in His sin sacrifice, and looking to no one and nothing else. Fortunately, your salvation isn't dependent upon whether or not you think it is possible to lose your salvation.
[h=2]Study[/h]The important point is that you have studied the Word of God and are convinced in your own mind of what you believe (Rom. 14:5). You are the one who has to answer to God (Rom. 3:19). You are the one who needs to study to show yourself approved (2 Tim. 2:15).
There are, on the surface, verses used for both sides of the argument. There are verses that seem to suggest that it is possible to lose your salvation: 2 Pet. 2:1, Gal. 5:4, Heb. 10:26, 6:4-6, Ps. 69:28. There are also verses that seem to say that you cannot lose your salvation: John 10:27-28, Heb. 13:5, Matt. 7:21-23, 1 John 2:19, Rom. 8:38-39. But if there are verses used to support both sides, then is there a contradiction in the Word of God? Of course not. There can be no contradiction in the inspired Word of God--only in our uninspired misunderstanding."

Finally, you can live your life as a christian who has no joy or peace due to your own actions but God calls you to him. You answered because God prepared your heart. God is not going to throw the baby away because the baby hasnt learned to eat meat yet. Just keep walking after Christ and reading your Bible. You will be just fine.
Blessings

The spirit was saved and sealed. So then, when you sin In the flesh the spirit does not participate.

Those born of GOD cannot sin.(talking about the spirit)(there Is no good thing In the flesh)

Be righteous conscious and not sin conscious.

Paul wrote
Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2.)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Calling on God isn't a work.

Hope you don't mind that I ask for scripture, biblical support, of that statement. Thanks.

Sure would like to see scripture for that.

I find it curious that, if that is true, Christ would tell us to "go and sin no more". Why would He waste breath telling us not to do something it was already impossible for us to do?
