I wish that I can say the same things because I like Walmart a lot, but I tried delivery and it hasn't worked out at all.

The entrance to my house is on the side instead of the front so Walmart always leaves my stuff next door. at my neighbor's. ALWAYS. Even when I told customer service repeatedly where my entrance is.

I finally had to give up. Maybe I'll move somewhere better someday where the entrance is actually in the front!

I put a note on my delivery instructions "deliver to swing on my deck". I'm a mile down a dirt road, and well off that road. They notify me when they begin my delivery, and I can actually track my delivery. I can also contact my delivery person if I see something wrong happening. I can also get express delivery for $10.

No other delivery service comes close to theirs.

You have a smart delivery person. I don't know why my delivery person can't figure simple instructions out.

I get a different person almost every time. Most are young adults or couples.

It's been a long while since I ordered from Walmart so I'm not sure who delivers whether it's the same person or different. I never had couples deliver though.

I spent 45 years in retail food industry. We gave our out dated food to a food bank as many others did.
When a person that used the food bank claimed he got sick from the food we gave and sued my company and won a two million dollar settlement, the decision was made by Corp that all such product was to be destroyed.
Some times those who can benefit are the ones who cause such actions.
We check items in our food pantry often, and purge all outdated food products for the same reason.
That's so sad and unfortunate, though I do understand.
I know I have read conditions for food pantries operating that the date is one thing they are suppose to check before distributing.
As someone who has both worked with and had to rely on food pantries, I find this a special area of concern.

Same reason the price of coffee has increased almost 40%. You have the great orange one to thank for this.

I Just bought a 100 K-cup box of coffee from Sam's Club. I paid the same price that I paid two months ago.

I paid 25% more than I paid in 2022. That's the result of the last administration flooding the country with inflated dollars.

A Dollar Tree and a Family Dollar opened near us about three years ago. Both closed their doors in less than a year. They couldn't compete with four Dollar Generals within a ten mile radius. A new Dollar General opened six miles from where the Family Dollar was.

The Babylon Bee had a meme the other day saying Dollar General was opening a Dollar General inside of another Dollar General store. It made me laugh. I have six DGs in and around my town. Dollar Tree only has one store. And I noticed DG has put a lot of things on for a dollar. I think DT is going to be sorry for the move they are making right now.

Many of the Dollar Generals around here have converted to "Dollar General Market", and are a lot like the small community grocery stores that big box stores ran out of business. I don't know how profitable they are, but their parking lots are busy with shoppers.

Yes, I stopped in to one of those last year and they were just starting to change over. I guess they are good for small towns that have nothing else.

And it was at a Dollar Tree where a manager was called over to help the young foreign girl who was having trouble giving me back the correct change. What she punched into the machine and was trying to give back to me was correct based on the machine, but what she punched into the machine was incorrect because she counted my money incorrectly. After all was resolved the manager and I were talking and she told me how desperate the store is for employees and unfortunately many of the highschoolers or recent graduates they hire, regardless of their nationality, have NO CLUE how to count or handle money but she's told to hire them anyway because they need employees.

It was this same DT I was in this week and noticing all the 2026 calendars already being put out. I over heard a gentleman talking with the manager asking her why they are out so early and how he isn't in the market to buy those until around Thanksgiving when he starts to think of the upcoming year but can never find many at DT then. The manager told him that she gets memos for certain dates and whatever is listed in the memo for those dates that is left unsold they have to pull off the shelves.

I know it's not food but my father worked delivering flowers for a couple years. They were expensive, besides roses, they had all varieties of flowers. They were not allowed to give the flowers to anyone, just take some home. Most were tossed in the garbage. My father said that so many elderly people in old age homes would love to have a bouquet of flowers. My father would bring them home to my mother and the neighbors ladies. They all loved him. lol But it seemed like so much waste that someone could have enjoyed.
