Hello :) I have been looking for a place to talk to fellow Christians. I used to be part of ICOC (International Church of Christ) in Vancouver, Canada. But that was years ago. I moved to Gatineau/Ottawa, Canada in 2003 and have not been part of a congregation since then. I am a Christian and believe in our Lord with all my heart and know he is the only way. I was baptized and raised as a Catholic but not by choice. Although it did give me a good foundation. I always loved God. I was baptized the correct way by the Disciples of the Church of Christ in 1999. But now I am seeking to get closer to Jesus everyday. I believe that only through him I can achieve all the victories that I have already achieved (stopped drinking years ago, stopped smoking weed and also have major weight lost since last year) all due to Jesus and God helping me. I have been praying a lot and pray more everyday. I miss having a church to go to. I believe chatting with other like-minded Christians will bring a lot of good in my heart. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
New International Version
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

Interesting, how the love of Christ tenderly leads us along. Like you, I have been through times of spiritual wilderness, even while visiting assemblies. Truly, a shame. Still, we are told to "try the spirits to see whether they are of God". Sometimes, that takes time. It's a narrow path we are called to endure, too bad too many have been more interested in self-convincement than embracing that godly trait of knowing when to "keep it to thyself". Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you, Brother. Your words mean a lot to me. Hopefully, we can become friends in Christ and help each other through Him.

I truly believe that Christ leads us, as you said. I believe that everything we go through as Christians can be used by God for His will. When I started praying again several times a day, I felt like such a wretch and an unworthy child of God. I even felt like a hypocrite.

But I know that God can work through even the worst human being. I know I cannot judge others, or even myself. I also know that no matter how unworthy we may feel, we cannot earn Jesus’ grace. It is given to us with Love and Compassion.

I embrace it now and try to always stay humble before Him. I believe humility is a very important part of my road. I believe God is teaching me through my wrongdoings as well.

I will pray for you too, my Brother, so that you stay strong in the Lord and that He walks with you at all times.
