I am 3 D lol there seems to be a lot of rules on this website I basically just wanted to get a little help with prayer I do not understand it I hear some television preachers say that God has already answered it and other things like that and all it does is confuse me I don’t even want to pray anything except for the Lord’s prayer because he already knows everything that we are praying for and according to some TV evangelist he has already answered our prayers so why bother

Some evangelist so even said that God has already answered the prayers whether we feel like he has or not this is very confusing I’m not sure what to do I am very confused and torn but I still believe I really really do I believe Jesus died for us and I do not understand why God chose to have this the way it had to be but I respected that it’s his decision

Nice to meet and see you Deborah and glad the Lord led you here to CC:) The Bible actually has a simple message but does get involved. It's good to read it everyday. When someone says God already has answered our prayers, they should also say that God did everything for us and it's all in the Scriptures. There are promises to claim for every situation we face.
For healing He gave us Isa 53 and says 'He sent His Word and healed us'. In Mark 11;23-24 it states to ask and believe w/o doubting for things according to His will (like don't ask for 10 Cadillacs, lol).
God bless you and enjoy your time here!

There are not really a lot of rules - just treat members decently and the rest will fall into line. I try to make it a point to say the Lord's prayer each day. Mainly, my prayer takes the form of conversation with God each day. I don't waste my time with TV preachers as I feel most of them are shady characters. There are quite a few here that will help you with prayer. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.

Not that many rules. And the ones that do exist are pretty clear and easy to understand why.
If that is your real first, middle and last name that kind of breaks the rules of safety for using the internet. Typically making personal information publicly available on sites is not a wise move. Anything posted in the forums is searchable through Google and other search engines. So even non-members can see your name and anything you post.

Most televangelist are frauds and false teachers with Very few exceptions. Looking to them for spiritual teaching is asking to be lied to.

The purpose of prayer is first and foremost supposed to be about interacting with God. This idea that prayer is all about asking for things (even if it's for others) is quite the sidetrack. Sure, praying for things and people is fine, but that should not be the only time you pray.
God is supposed to be with people 24/7, if the only time people are available to God is when they're asking for things what kind of relationships is that?

that makes sense. I talk to God all the time all throughout the day. But I don’t feel comfortable asking for someone to be healed or someone’s car to get fixed things like that just seem weird to me now because of what I’ve heard a parent and also because he already knows what we need so to be praying for my brother to find a home over and over and over every single day just doesn’t make sense do you know what I’m saying

Welcome to CC :)

For me "prayer needs" seem to function differently for a lot of people. Let's say you had a burden for a particular person appear out of nowhere and you pray about it and you start to see things happen for that person eventually...

it didn't happen out of "nowhere"...the Lord placed it on your heart. Why? Sometimes it seems to me that it's just to get an idea of where he is in your life and what he's up to. I just sort of roll with it.

But yeah, I feel you on "but he already knows so what's the point?" I know there is a point even with this logic, I feel it pretty strongly but I only get little clues in the moment about the "why" and sometimes years afterward and while I do find myself curious about the "why" often, it seems to be simply a side trail to Godly purpose largely. Not that asking why is a problem...it certainly isn't. It's when "why" becomes a hang-up that problems begin to surface.

Lest this turn into a somewhat rambling sermonette...Hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to reach out to folks roundabout if you see someone you think you might connect with. Take care.

"My spiritual journey has brought about revelations, that on my own,
would not have come to light.
I have posted many things, and I hope some of the things put forth may
enlighten you, as there is far more to a relationship with our Lord, than just
a few 'religious' comments, as all are meant in good faith....but?
With untold intellectual worldly commentary...there is great confusion and debates
that only further confuse and confound many."
( just my thoughts ...'this side of the glass' )

Here is my dilemma right now I deliberately have been sending by doing drugs and I have a horribly damaged my body and now I’m off the drugs and asking him for help and it seems so hypocritical why would I ask him for help when I do this to myself I knew what I was doing I know it was wrong I did it anyway and now I’m crying and needed help from him to be strong and snap out of it and get back to real world of life and try to be happy and I don’t know how to do it and I I don’t know just please pray for me

It's pretty simple actually. The sites broken down into subforums. Teens, singles, Misc, etc... and within those subforums are threads. Threads are created by users.
There is a thumbs up option, or other choices. If you get one it alerts you at the top of the page and provides a link to that specific post if you dont remember what you said.
Thats at least half of how to use the site.

Ever had a friend you know has problems, and you want to talk to them, but they refuse?
Asking God for the sorts of things you mentioned isn't about telling God what He doesn't know, it's about laying your burdens at His feet, as He wants you to. And it's about learning to go to God in times of need. And, of course, it's also about communication.
