It takes patience for sure. I thought to myself howlonely they were and how desperate to be heard.
I found out later they were alone in the world now. They were from a small family,no siblings. Their parents had died. All others in the family,both sides,had passed on.
Their spouse was killed in a car accident a few years prior. They shut down after that and kept to themselves.

i felt alone with the way my brothers & i grew up. a total disaster i wouldn't want for anyone.
Some people have all bottled up inside and when you near it's like turning on the tap. But it's better they do that than burst their pipes/explode.
Just think of them like a babbling brook and enjoy the bubbles. If they only being friendly.

appropriate. you posted that just in time for the new story. a couple of hours ago, i was out giving estimates. after, i stopped to see about some antiques. i saw a guy parked at a closed business to talk to him, same place where i may by antiques. i couldn't tell who he was. i knocked on his driver's door he looked as if to think, "i know that guy, let him wait". so i waited another few minutes & knocked again. he got angry & wised off to me. then i realized who he was. a known wisecracker from way back. this guy is very much disliked by many. i asked him if he needed help & he continued in his irascible behavior & i walked away. what a test that was from Jesus! & i passed it.
how many people are like that thru out the world? 10's of millions!!!

Orphans? I don't know but a sizable amount, or abandoned children. Most will get fostered/adopted, but sometimes foster care leaves a lot to be desired. It depends if you get good parents or not, otherwise, you just another ward-of-the-state with no home. Maybe your home will be jail one day if you can't make it on your own.
This is why people join gangs.

I think a lot of men don't want to take any responsibility, or make any commitment, even if they have a child. I think it is pretty heartless to do something like that.
They were never married, but he did leave shortly after Mike was born.

Or perhaps this is the repercussions of most women always being attracted to the bad boys. Mikes dad was a street guy. I'm sure Lorna knew that fact when they became a couple.
