I couldn't talk for months after. But it's been a year or year and a half since my last radiation treatment. So I am able to talk. But I also have my upper tip lip, on the right, glued to my gums. And starting with my front teeth all the way back have been removed. Also part of the surgery required the top of my mouth to be removed and rebuilt, so now the inside of my mouth is taller than before. As well as part of my face, under the skin had to be removed and rebuilt then grafted with skin from my leg. Hence the difficulty talking still.

I will check out the links. Thanks.
(For anyone meeting Sub for the first time, he used to be here under another name, and I think he's been here just as long as I have -- 2009 -- possibly even longer. I just mention this to explain why some of us seem to know quite a bit about each other.)

I remember a while back, you made a post that didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary to the regulars here, but for some reason, a new member flippantly brushes off your post like, "This is what you get from an unbeliever."

And it was like, "You don't know anything about him -- why are you so quick to judge him so harshly?" Someone pointed out that this person didn't know anything about your time serving in youth ministry, which was something you'd told us about back in the day. But they sure were quick to brand you as a heathen when you were just making observations about what you were going through -- which is something we all do. (Not surprisingly, that user was making harsh, dismissive comments towards others as well -- and wasn't here for very long before they got banned.)

I surely don't know everything about everyone here and I can't keep up with everyone's lives, but your story has always stuck out. There have actually been times when I've read your posts and thought, "If I even went through half of what he's gone through -- in a year! -- would I be able to hold it together? Would I still be holding onto faith?"

I know we haven't always agreed on everything in our posts, but who does? Not always seeing eye to eye is part of being inviduals in a family.

I'm just very glad you haven't given up on this forum, Sub, no matter what the ups and down. 🌹🙏❤️

I'll also very very happy if this thread helps connect you and others with yet more Christian family members to help carry their burdens and keep them in prayer. 💐

wow, brother, what a lot to bear.

you remind me of David in Psalm 40 where he said he waited patiently for the Lord... in Hebrew it's more like, waiting, I waited. so much waiting.

may our Lord incline His ear to you and hear your cry. and ours, because your CC family loves you and is praying for you. ♥
"waiting, I waited. so much waiting", I like that. And it's way more fitting than you realize.
Appreciate the words.

Actually I've been here since 2011. So you're still my senior haha.

I don't remember that specific incident because that happened multiple times to me. Even with some who have been here a while.

Thanks again, Seoul, for the kind words.

Thanks to all who replied so far. I'm not always an expressive person but it means more than it comes across (emoji responses included).

Also sorry for derailing the thread. I only expected one or two responses back and it would be over. Hopefully others continue sharing their days here.

Another beautiful day in God's Creation.
Helped a lot of people at work.
Setup the kids for a learner's permit.
The weather is cooler to drive with the windows down and playing music.

As a monk said:
You brought me into this life as into an enchanted paradise. We have seen the sky, like a deep blue cup, ringing with birds in the azure heights. We have listened to the soothing murmur of the forest and the sweet-sounding music of the waters. We have tasted fragrant fruit of fine flavor and sweet scented honey. How pleasant is our stay with you on earth; it is a joy to be your guest o Lord.
Glory to you for the feast-day of life,
Glory to you for the perfume of lilies and roses,
Glory to you for each different taste of berry and fruit,
Glory to you for the sparkling silver of early morning dew,
Glory to you for each smiling, peaceful awakening,
Glory to you for eternal life in us, a messenger of heaven,
Glory to you, 0 God from age to age.

i'm doing very well, better than i ever have. my day yesterday was fulfilling as usual. lots of antique related work completed, exercising & drumming. lot's of communication with Jesus. i'm currently preparing for a major silver & gold coin appraisal. today, my wife & i are going to be dining with her cousin & her husband in the adirondack mountains. i had to purchase new tires & rims for 1 of my work trucks & paid in cash as we always do by the grace of Jesus. i'm being tremendously blessed this year! i hope all of CC members are doing fine in every Jesus way!!!
Sorry if I missed it, but how did your silver and gold appraisal go?

I saw your post about making the biggest antique deal of your career -- I'm sorry if this is the same event and I missed it.

I always found "Antique Road Show" fascinating so it's interesting to me how people find, restore, or resell antiques. :)

The next time someone calls me the "caretaker" I'm gonna use this! or not. I'll probably forget, but it'll be funny (at least o me) if I do

I woke up and threw the towels into the wash. And then jumped on CC and was typing about why "washing towels" is a big deal around here, but then decided I don't want to air out my dirty laundry to the whole world, then stopped and laughed about how funny that seemed since I started this by talking about dirty laundry. (I need sleep)

this would fall back on airing out dirty laundry :LOL: that dirty laundry seems to be all that is going on in my life right now, it's hard to separate dirty laundry when you are the careGIVER . It's much easier to separate the dirty laundry that can go into the washing machine (except at my house, I seem to be the only one who knows how to do this) ):LOL: ( I NEED sleep)

How much can you get into one post?
No, I don't mean like for airing out dirty laundry as shared above.
I'm serious. How much can fit into one post?
Because someone brought this up in another thread and I really want/need to know how long a CC post can be? And Also, what size is the font that is being used?
(I need sleep)

How is your day going, GG?

Did you get a little more sleep?

Are you still buried under piles of laundry?

I was helping my Mom with laundry a few days ago and thinking of you. My parents are only two little people -- but how in the world they amass such a huge pile of towels, I'll never know! (Maybe they use a different towel for each section of the body.)

Hope you are doing well. ❤️

@Subhumanoidal -- I was thinking about the other day about something that I have always appreciated about you...

I don't know if it was some kind of plague or what, but I remember many years ago when we kind of went through a "cycle" on CC where a lot of male posters in their 50's+ kept talking about the "Jezebel Spirit" -- and how every Western woman was afflicted with it.

Now I certainly don't mind venting and we all do it -- plenty of women have vented about men on this site, too -- but I don't know, it was like an epidemic, with constant talk of how women had ruined the family unit and were poison.

The thing that stood out to me is that these posts never ever mentioned anything positive about women or that there were exceptions (except for very young women in foreign countries who could be trained.)

Again, I'm not saying this is a male-only problem on the site at all. But coming from a female perspective, I know you are always one of the first to step in and say, "Now wait a minute..."

To this day, you have a great way of presenting things from multiple points of view, whether it be about gender issues, depression, single parenthood, etc. You've always been a guy who stood up for women instead of blaming them for the downfall of society.

I've ALWAYS appreciated this about you and just wanted to say -- thank you! ❤️😊🙏

I always enjoy the things you share about family life.

I don't have a family of my own but I've been around plenty of other people's kids (and probably in a few years, grandkids.)

The things parents like you share here are invaluable to everyone, even though who have the privilege of just "borrowing" a friend's kids for the day.

Thank you!

I have lifted you up in prayers...
I got up to no good today. I mean, I keep trying to 'level up' but keep finding myself only arriving at 'no good.' So, because I like to see good, I resorted, yet again to looking to God. This time, I revisited the thoughts of a teacher I haven't checked in on much lately , as I have the habit of doing (my teachers of choice write their thoughts out as extensively as @seoulsearch if she were on philosophical steroids) and was glad to see that I was in time to see that this Sabbath in Torah study is arguably my favorite, that of Nachamu (comfort), as relating to "Comfort, comfort, my people..." within the week's portion "Vaetchanan," translated as, "And I pleaded..." as related to praying the Lord to help me pray considering my total incompetence in articulating my groaning. Vaetchanan is the first of the 'seven weeks of comfort' that follow the previous 'three weeks of sorrow' which culminate in a new year and a new cycle in Torah study.

Within the commentary was an observation that, after the commandments were smash, the of the requirement of a broken heart (teshuvah; repentance) came in order to behold God's glory once again, and Jesus fulfilling that requirement in his dying of a broken heart for our return to God and revealing the passion in God's heart for us.

Within the articles for the day of study touched on the greatest commandment, loving God with our whole being, that is, with all our heart, and all our soul, and all our strength as stated in the Shema, but this only brings me back to that I'm not as much as I'd like to be. I'm no good. Yet, that is all I have to love God with. But God knows that and so that must be exactly what He wants from me, all the love that my being has to offer. And, considering another observation, that Jesus is the center of creation, the first and the last, the beginning and the end, I realize that, in Him, I meet that requirement! So, I can rest easy, @Subhumanoidal, in prayer for you throughout the coming weeks, and in all things. <3

the coin appraisal is still pending. the biggest antique deal i ever made did occur a couple of weeks back. it involved 3 Mike Tyson on-site boxing posters. 1 of them was his debut poster when he fought hector mercedes in March of 85', in black print. the other 2, exactly the same, were his 3rd fight when he fought don halpin in May of 85' & that's in red print. the tyson-halpin posters are extremely rare. so far, it's possible that i had the only 2 known in the world! so after intense bidding, very intense, a major famous sport collector won the bid. yes, i've been watching antiques roadshow since the beginning. what got me started is i was in the cellar of a home in 1980 that we were renovating & i found an old liquor bottle. the cap was on, i removed it & there was still liquor smell & i laughed quite loud. i said to myself, " this is neat, i like this"! imagine God, He was probably laughing with me. (Roman 8:28)!!! so from there i started hunting on roadsides & attending estate & garage sales. plus i have people who call me looking for this or that. & then there is my landscape customers i get stuff from. interesting how i'm answering you today on this because just today, we cleaned out a house in an emergency, that is going on the market in a hurry & i found 3 Harley Davidson Jackets, 1 of them very expensive. i also found a whole bunch of "smalls" too.

Thank you for saying so, Seoul. Means a lot. Yes I believe people should be seen as individuals, not labeled by a group. Well, I do enjoy labeling groups myself, but am willing to have my mind changed about an individual, if the chance comes up. I'll keep my response short this time as I could ramble on for a while haha. Thanks again. 🙂

Trying to get one more week on the beach before kids start school.

"
Glory to you for calling me into being,
Glory to you for spreading out before me the beauty of the universe,
Glory to you for revealing to me through heaven and earth the eternal book of wisdom,
Glory to your eternity within this fleeting world,
Glory to you for your mercies, seen and unseen,
Glory to you for every sigh of my sorrow,
Glory to you for every step in my life's journey, for every moment of joy,
Gloty to you, 0 God, from age to age

Heh, I appreciate the most kind words, @notmyown, but a nice long conversation with my Mama might convince you otherwise!!:D:geek:

She once told my high school boyfriend that I was "Something only a mother could love," and it still makes me laugh to this day! :p

Lol, how did it go?! Are they holding in the wedding at some kind of nature park?

I love the stories you share with us about your husband and family!!! ❤️Everyone just sounds so accomplished and adventurous -- I'm sure there's never a dull moment. And I love that!

Also am praying for your beloved husband.

I have several family members who have gone through procedures for skin cancer, and it's really scary to see someone you love missing a big chunk of skin.

Praying that he will have a speedy and wholesome recovery! ❤️

Much love! 🌺

It's thursday,
today has been  interesting.
I did get a call that we've been waiting on for a very long while (scheduling for medical related stuff) and that was unexpected (and I must say I was excited- hey, doesn't take much to make me happy, and don't we all want a happy mama? )
I remembered to pray before reacting to a child's :unsure:um "problem" and that truly did make a big difference. If not in that situation, at least in how I moved forward with things, which helped me A LOT.
It's getting late and I still need to make dinner, but at least there is dinner to make and my kids are getting better at being grateful for that (even on nights when it comes even later than now).

How was your day?
