I was in college, and it was 30 miles from my home. (This was pre-metric days!) I had a car and would give rides to the other students from time to time.
One day, in January, a friend who was in my classes asked if I could give a ride to another student who was in electronics. I said yes. The minute I saw him, I was intrigued. Something about him was special.
I later found out he was a Christian, and crossed him off my dating list. I knew he would never approve of my lifestyle. As the year wound down, I started taking the bus, instead of going early and staying late to study. This man always showed up at the last possible minute. So I started saving a seat for him.
I would talk the whole way there, and usually the whole way back. He never replied. But he kept sitting by me. I guess he was praying for me.
At the end of the year, he needed to go to the coast for a job interview, and I needed to go to see the university I would be attending. I had been reading the Bible and some Christian books by then, listening to a Christian album, but I was not saved. We were supposed to go with a group of people, but everyone dropped out but the two of us. He was very uncomfortable!
Then on the way home, I started telling him about my life. We started talking about the Bible, and God saved me. That night, we both admitted we loved each other. We got married a year later, that was almost 35 years ago. We've had ups and downs, but that love we found has never lost its way. God lead me to him, and then to each other.
