I'm not married. I'm just saying if I was. But the truth is, wives are told to submit to their husbands. If I, as a husband, didn't want my wife seeing a male gynecologist if there were females ones available, I feel I have the God given right as a husband to tell my wife to see a female doctor. It's not like I'm telling my wife to never see a male doctor ever again. All I ask of my wife is that she does not allow another man with a medical licence to shove his face in her private area. Is that too much to ask for?
If there's good women gynecologists, I don't see the point in seeing a male one, especially if it makes your husband uncomfortable.
I think its a woman's duty to minimize as many uncomfortable situations as she can.
No it isn't.
But our society, as I say, treats women like fragile, unknowing, ignorant little creatures that don't know any better, at least as far as men are concerned. We're supposed to give em what they want.
let me tell ya buddy, Eve didn't come up to Adam and say;
'Hey Adam. God told me not to eat this apple, but I decided to do it anyway cause I thought I knew better. It's made me see all this crazy stuff I didn't know before, and I'm gonna die. If you eat it too, you'll die. Wann try?'
She handed it to him and he ate it lol.
we'll do practically whatever a woman wants to keep them around even if it means compromising on our beliefs.
I think it is too much to ask.
I am a Nurse, I have carried out PAP smears and have chaperoned Drs preforming very personal examinations on both men and women. At the end of the day it is her private area and if she feels that a male Dr can give her the best care that is up to her. I have also been present for some emergency gynaecological examinations and we certainly didn't waste time looking for a female Dr when the woman had severe bleeding or was potentially miscarrying and needed prompt attention.
I would also suggest that no female Dr can carry out a personal exam on you and also if you ever spend any time in hospital you had best ask for a male nurse to carry out your personal care.
OK I come from a small island group, there are 2 Drs who are Gyn trained. One is a registrar, the other a consultant. Now, if the consultant was male and the registrar female I would still choose the consultant because he has learned more, he has greater expertise. And what woman do you know who is having a pelvic exam once a month?Lol the best care.
That's a double standard.
How is it that a woman can decide either, yet only a man can give her the best care?
It is definitely not too much to ask. Obv if she's gonna die that's different. But for an every-month pelvic exam?
Come on ...

There are plenty of places in the world with limited medical professionals. You are also not a woman who has ever had a pelvic exam. Personally I find them unpleasant and embarrassing and I have only ever needed to go to the practice nurse who is, more often than not, a female.Well that's an exceptional circumstance. But I'm not from a small place where people have no choice. and I've a feeling neither is the OP.

In addition, in all the various examinations I have attended I have never seen a woman have an orgasm because of one.
Then the same should apply for the husband. As a student nurse I found myself absolutely mortified when a male patient found himself somewhat excited during a bed bath. Most of them were married so shouldn't they have requested a male nurse?Maybe they're just very good at hiding them lol
In all seriousness, it's a well known fact that most people do find them unpleasant and embarrassing, but to get back on to what the OP was saying, if there is a qualified female available and it makes the husband uncomfortable, there's no reason his wife shouldn't see a female for the exam.
It's not unreasonable not to want another man with his hand in places it shouldn't be ...

I have PolyCysticOvarianSyndrome and also had a very high risk pregnancy with my daughter. My husband does not care whether my gynecologist is a male or a female.. its about whoever is the best doctor and will take the best care of me. We are actually in the process of looking a doctor who will treat my PCOS more effectively and not just slap me on birth control immediately and who will help us with fertility issues if we decide to try for a second child. Sometimes you cant be picky on the sex of the doctor. You have to do whats in the best interest of your health. But I definitely understand why some women wouldnt feel as comfortable with a male doctor.
I think a better analogy would be a man getting a testicular exam or something requiring an appointment.

did you have your hand wrapped round his manlyness? I mean, you do actually know what a pelvic exam entails don't you? lol
.... Seriously .. there's a difference between a bed bath and a pelvic exam.
I don't recall ever having a male nurse go near a female patient for a bed bath or urination, but I myself have had female nurses bed bath me. I didn't get excited.
But if one was giving me a 'special exam', who knows?
Yes I am aware of what a pelvic exam entails being both female and a nurse. I am not certain that you do.
I have had to hold on to mens "manlyness" on occasion, sometimes for cleaning or assisting the Dr, most of those occasion the man is about to be catheterised so usually it does not result in excitement.
Male nurses do preform both bed baths and toileting for females and frankly I resent your insinuation.
