How do husbands feel about male gynecologists?

.... Seriously .. there's a difference between a bed bath and a pelvic exam.

I don't recall ever having a male nurse go near a female patient for a bed bath or urination, but I myself have had female nurses bed bath me. I didn't get excited.

But if one was giving me a 'special exam', who knows?

What happens during a bed bath? Sounds a little weird! What do they do?
 
Honestly, a pelvic exam is about the least exciting thing I can possibly think of.

Anyhow, in my experience, women doctors have been very...rude. Obviously that's not how all of them are, just the handful I've seen. And I therefore see male doctors.

Also, both times I was pregnant, female doctors and nurses treated my husband very badly every time he attended an appointment with me. That makes no sense; it's a GOOD thing for an expecting father to be interested in how the baby is developing, so why with the attitude towards him just for being there?

Anyway. I see male doctors, and my husband is fine with it. I guess if that ever changed, and he asked me to switch doctors, I probably would.

90%? Where did you pull that one from? If the wife does not feel uncomfortable then why should the husband force the issue? I can tell you that if I had to go for an exam right now and I could either have my GP who is a male or a female (who could btw, be a lesbian) that I have never met then I would feel an awful lot more comfortable with my Dr whom I trust. Wouldn't it be wrong of my husband to ask me to go to someone who I do not know and trust to preform an already unpleasant examination just because HE feels a bit funny about it?
 
I don't praticularly care if someone I'm with goes to see a male doctor, as I've said above, right at the start of the thread.

But when people start getting offended I don't get it.

The question isn't so much about the exam, it's about how the couple listen to each other's feelings.

If I DID feel offended by my girlfiend/wife going for one with a male, I'd expect her (hopefully if I've chosen a decent woman), to care enough to ask for a female examiner.

Depends whether you think a man shoving his hand where only your husband's meant to is ok or not I suppose. No need to get angry.

A bed bath is simply a way of keeping the patient clean while they are unable to mobilise to a shower or bath. Urine is the number 1 cause of bed sores so ALL areas are cleaned thoroughly.
 
Look at it this angle;


If I had a condition that required me to go and get plenty of examinations on my special area, and I had a female doctor, and my girlfriend/wife said 'Look, it makes me feel kind uncomfortable to know another woman sees you like that',

I'd say 'No problem love, I'll ask for a man'.

it would be the most uncomfortable thing, but I'd feel better knowing SHE feels better about it all.

Well, I wouldn't allow it. There is no need for any patient to have their underwear removed for a bed bath. That is just ridiculous.
