I know the passage.
As I said, you should learn about the categories of Paul's Epistles.

When Paul wrote his letter to Timothy the only scriptures available were Torah.
All scripture is authoritative. There is no ranking of scripture as if one part of scripture is more authoritative than another.

There are biblical reasons for divorce. One should consider these before divorcing. While no woman should remain in a place where they or their children are in danger, physical abuse is not given as a reason for divorce.
Physical advise is abandonment, which is a biblical reason for divorce.

You must know the context of Paul's letter at the time he wrote it.
It does not pertain to the whole of the Bible we know today. Because that did not yet exist .

His letter to Timothy pertained to the Torah. That was the scripture of his time. And that is to what he refers in his letter to Timothy.

So when Jesus quotes the old testament we can ignore what He said?

please explain how is that equal?

However the good news is usually during separation, the abused one if not repent, probably will get into affair with others. Then the innocent one will have a biblical ground for divorce.

But,they do not have to do so. They do not have to stay married to their abuser.

And they can also ,after Divorce, find real love and marry.

Because according to God,that woman who was unequally yoked, was not actually married in God's eyes.

God said a woman, girl, who is raped must be sold to her rapist . The rapist pays the father 40 pieces of silver. Deuteronomy 22.

Ten more pieces than what Sadducees paid Judas so he'd betray Jesus.

Will we insist that order of God be followed today?

God,I hope not.
The holy word does not exculpate or leave either by case of infidelity in men (should be sentenced ) for adultery for lasciviousness or for sodoms all this under talion must be punished with death. conjugal disruption too but not because you want to divorce without reason

We've had trouble 2.5 years ago. Worked through it and both became born again. Things went well then about 4 months ago things started going down hill. We went to 1 session of marriage counselling, then he refused to continue
I suggest that you check out Mark Gungor marriage seminars. You can get them free on youtube. He is one of the few male counselors that understand both men and women. He is also extremely funny.

All religions should apply more severe codes with this to foster healthier and truly focused relationships on monotheistic aspects In the strictest areas In Islam it is condemned under Shariah.

I really support the dry law and I think it was a good idea in its day should it be restored never thought it's a problem for men to drink alcohol?
It really is a problem in certain areas, even the life expectancy decreases, this is what God would like, I don't think about it. Therefore, more traditional laws should be made . In the US I see it complicated and the modernist ideology entered with force

Divorcing an Abusive Spouse is Not a Sin

How do you know when your marriage is over. I know God hates divorce but I am seriously considering divorcing my husband. He has not been home in 3 days. Kids are asking questions that I dont know how to answer. I've prayed about it every night for months for God to show me a way.
Jesus never spoke to broken‑hearted people with condemnation. He spoke with truth, but always wrapped in mercy. He never told someone to stay in a situation that destroyed them. He always protected the vulnerable.
Your pain is real. Your confusion is real. Your desire to honor God is real. And Jesus sees all of it.
He would not shame you. He would not rush you. He would not ignore the harm being done. He would speak to your heart first — because that is where the deepest wounds are.
Hear the Truth About Your Worth
Jesus always begins by restoring the dignity of the person who is hurting.
Say to yourself: “My life matters. My safety matters. My children matter. God does not ask me to endure abandonment without wisdom.”
Jesus never minimized suffering
He defended the abandoned and mistreated
He reminded people they were beloved before addressing their decisions.
Name What Is Actually Happening
Jesus always brought hidden things into the light so people could see clearly.
Your husband has been gone for 3 days — that is abandonment, not a small issue
Your children are confused and hurting
You have been praying for months without change
Naming reality is not being unfaithful — it is being truthful
Set a Boundary Rooted in Truth
Protect the Vulnerable. Jesus taught that boundaries protect life, not destroy it.
You might say: “I cannot continue in a marriage where you disappear for days. I need safety, stability, and truth. I am asking you to come home and speak honestly about what is happening.”
Boundaries are not threats; they are clarity
A boundary is not divorce — it is a line that says, “This cannot continue”
Jesus confronted harmful behavior directly, never passively.
Discern the Difference Between a Hard Season and a Broken Covenant
Wisdom. Jesus distinguished between temporary pain and destructive patterns.
A marriage is not “over” because it is painful
A marriage may be over when one partner repeatedly abandons the other
Scripture condemns divorce lightly, not divorce after covenant-breaking behavior
Jesus never told someone to stay in a situation where the covenant was already shattered by the other person.
Seek Counsel and Protection
Do Not Carry This Alone. Jesus sent people to community when the burden was too heavy to carry alone.
Speak with a pastor, counselor, or trusted believer as you have here.
You need emotional, spiritual, and practical support
Your children need stability and clarity
Jesus never asked anyone to walk through suffering alone.
Make a Decision Rooted in Truth, Not Fear
Courage, Jesus guided people to choose what leads to life, not what traps them in fear.
Pray: “Lord, show me the path that protects my children, honors truth, and reflects Your heart — even if it is hard.”
Fear says “I must stay no matter what”
Truth says “I must choose what is righteous, honest, and protective”
Jesus leads people into peace, not chaos
The right decision is the one aligned with truth and safety.
Your marriage may not be “over,” but it is not healthy, not stable, and not safe as it stands. You are not sinful for recognizing that. You are not faithless for considering separation. You are not dishonoring God by protecting yourself and your children. May you find comfort in our Lord Jesus.

Well said.

Neglect and abandonment are also abuses.

Given domestic violence has been discussed here, I want to post this for anyone who may find it useful.

Did you read what I wrote?

No one is saying that women and children should stay in a place of danger. But neither does the word of God allow for divorce for abuse. One can be both in a safe place and remain married.
Yes , that does happen . When it's not a safe place , either party should b free to leave and never return .
When u have some free time , u could look up murder statistics . I'm guessing it won't matter which countries statistics u look at , there won't b much difference . Most murderers r male and a very high proportion of murder victims r female . Of those females that r murdered , a very high proportion will have been murdered by a man that they were either romantically involved with or married to . Statistics don't lie , they tell a very clear and sad tale .
No one should feel , that for any reason , it is socially or religiously unacceptable for them to leave their spouse if they r not safe with that spouse . Any one who doesn't realise that , has obviously never been on the recieving end of violence , perpetrated on them by someone who they live in the same house with , and who is supposed to live and care for them . Do your best and try to imagine what that might b like , then times it by one thousand and u might get the drift .
I'm very glad and happy for anyone who was not brought up in an environment of psychological fear and physical terror and abuse , but they must not dismiss the experience of others who have had very different experiences . We r supposed to learn from our life experiences and , the experience of others . That means listening and believing what other people say without judging .

Any person that initiates physical violence toward someone else, needs to consider themselves out of fellowship , from other Christians and from the Spirit of Truth . Therefore they r guilty and , whoever they have wronged has the right to never b anywhere near them ever again . The abused person may choose to forgive , but that doesn't mean that they then have to b around that person afterwards . I forgave my dad but never laid eyes on him for decades , I have forgiven my mum but I no longer go and c her . Jesus knows everything , not just about us Christians but about everyone , hearts and minds r laid bare to him and there is a reason why some people r removed from us . I have been very strongly prompted to keep away from my mum , I'm heeding the warning . It's not the first time I've been prompted and , I always listen .
Physical , mental , emotional and spiritual abuse is not perpetrated by a Christian . U r free to remove yourself from anyone who abuses u .

Those who go as Aggressors usually have sad stories behind them, surely they also suffered something and that is why they developed that personality, the same thing happens with consumers.
