Ask yourself, are marriage, career, weight loss not "human traditions", per Col. 2:8? You keep whitewashing the "desire for marriage", even when there's nobody to marry, alright, let's talk about that - the whole "relationship escalator", from "love at the first sight" to "death do us part", from online dating to church wedding, which one of it is not human tradition, guided by philosophyies full of "empty deceit"? As for the "sinful and fleshy" part, scoff me as you wish, but if you view marriage as merely a permission to have sex, then indeed, it's absolutely sinful and fleshy. That was the Pharisees' practice in the historical context of Matt. 19, who frequently married, divorced and remarried for the sole purpose of having sex, because their "eyes and hands caused them to sin".

As for 1 Tim. 4:3, don't you want same sex "marriage", mormon "marriage" and immigration fraud "marriage" be forbidden? Or the Pharisees' sham marriage be forbidden? I don't know about you, Lord Jesus indicted them of adultery - "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”"
You have a twisted view of marriage and of believers. Marriage was ordained by God in Eden, before the fall. I'm 75. I was married a bit less than four years ago. It was certainly not just for bedroom antics.

Christian marriage should be a wonderful testimony to the difference that Jesus makes to our lives. If it is not, it is a reflection on the nature of the relationship, not on marriage as such.

From time to time I counsel people, including recently a single Christian woman. My wife is always with me at those times. It ensures that there is not even the appearance of impropriety.

Satan has a launched an all out attack on marriage, apart, of course, on Muslims. Islam increases simply by breeding more Muslims as the offspring are automatically Muslim. Marriage is ordained by God. If you choose to be single, that's fine. But don't try to guilt trip those who do want to marry. That's the devil's job, not yours.

We're done, buddy. It's impossible to paint the bigger picture with someone who keeps factory resetting mid-conversation.
The bigger picture is that, marriage is the hallmark of this passing age, in God's kingdom there's no marriage, for all who enter in are spiritually united with lord Jesus. “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever." (1 Jn. 2:15-17)

Yeah, "extreme and rather puzzling", yet all legal and normalized. Premarital sex and no fault divorce are forbidden, yet both are legal and normalized. "Godly and healthy Christian marriage" is not necessarily a myth, but it's riskier than gambling and rarer than winning a jackpot.

And speaking of which, the greatest irony is that, in the supposedly godly, conservative rural areas in the "bible belt" where marriage is constantly preached, worshipped and promoted, domestic strifes and divorces are MORE common, marriages less stable, compared to the conceited, snobby liberal couples educated in the supposedly communist, godless colleges, or the Asian, Muslim and other "pagan" couples who have no dealings with Christianity at all.

So marriage is just a worldy invention and has noting to do with God's original design in Paradise?

That age is the culmination of all things. Past, present, and future marriages (Lord willing) included.

Adios, for now.

I understand, and I appreciate your feedback. I assure you, I'm not up for bedroom antics either, and I'd like to live peacefully to 75 first, suppose I'd be able to get through the vacissitudes of life, AI displacement, next pandemic, food crisis, passing of parents, tyranny, climate change, etc. suppose I'd survive all of these, that'd be a blessing to me.

Yes, marriage is under attack, but by the preachers of purity culture and prosperity gospel, who've effectively set it up as an idol, the telos of life and the reward for your faith, if you don't get married you're inferior and incomplete. They've done more damage to marriage than what the devil could ever do through muslims, LGBTQ and other minions.

For now, I'm not obsessed with either singlehood or marriage. Both are but labels, and I don't wanna be identified, judged or evaluated by labels only.

Money doesn't have any place in God's Kingdom either. So hand it over.

So marriage is just a worldy invention and has noting to do with God's original design in Paradise?
BTW, God's original design in paradise was FOR the paradise, we on the other hand are living in a broken, sinful world, so broken and so sinful that up is down, down is up, white is black, black is white, bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

The love of money is the root of all evil.
You don't even read what people say. You just look for a way you can use what they said to put them down.

Did you at least read the part where I told you I am a guy, not a girl?

Marriage joined by God isn't, marriage joined by dating apps, politics or other manipulations is.

So how does God join people together in marriages today? He just "poofs" us a spouse? If you use a dating app, then you're doing it wrong?

No I don't. Just messing up with you.
Okay good. At least you're not quite that oblivious.

If you would stop trying to score conversational points you might get somewhere on a conversation.

Yes I did, and as I said, I was just messing up with you. Hope you find your Elizabeth Bennet or Emma Woodhouse, then.

Yes, absolutely. Dating apps favor hookups and disfavor commitments by its gamified design, so they could keep users on the platforms as long and profitable as possible.

Your familiarity with the romance novels of Jane Austen is rather at odds with your disdain of the desire for marriage. Makes me wonder how much time you're spending on worldly things like romance novels or classic literature instead of God.

Lord Jesus put down his opponents on whether it was lawful to pay taxes, whether it was lawful in no fault divorce, whether the woman caught in adultery should be stoned, etc. He knew a trick question when he saw one, and he threw their tricks back to where they came from.
