Of course Mary of Magdela loved Jesus...
But as a former prostitute she would not dream of thinking of trying to gain a romantic relationship with Jesus. She had already had many marriages...that's why she WAS a prostitute. (NO little girl grows up wanting to be a prostitute as a life goal....they usually want to be princesses and etc).

And your hermeneutics of Paul's letters needs adjustment. There "publicly addressed" letters written for public consumption and private letters made public...written less formally and more colloquially to his student/friend.

"A husband of One wife" in Paul's world meant a man with no formal consorts in addition to his wife. Because in Greeko/Roman society consorts were a high status lifestyle for women. Most of your wealthy citizens had at least one consort. It didn't mean a divorced and remarried man was ineligible.
As I said, no polyamory or polygamy, for one thing; the other is Paul's reasoning clearly stated in 1 Tim 3:5 -"for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?"

There's a difference between men and women.

First..
.it's not good for man to be alone.
Same "good" as used for the word translated into "Holy".

Meaning alone is unholy.
But men are able to function alone. Adam did...and did well....

Eve however, was not created to be alone. She was created to be strong in areas Adam was weak...just like Adam was strong in ways Eve was weak. Eve was not created to ever be alone.

This same term of help/mate is the same as God does for mankind...being strong where he cannot help himself. (Salvation by holy life)
This is a shining example of the root problem with good old Johnny here. He believes men are inherently superior to women. This post illustrates his belief quite well with an illustration of how he feels like men by themselves are whole and complete, but women by themselves are incomplete and pointless.

John talks a lot about being married, but I have difficulty believing it. Either he is single or he has found a woman who has been so denigrated and mentally abused that she will take any validation from any man who will give it to her.

Either way, I have never seen any indication that he actually understands love. In every post it's always about John, never about anybody else.

Short version: ladies please don't pay attention to this man, and please, please, please, PLEASE don't consider him to be an example of how the rest of us men are.

Ok...
Well someone needs to fill the women in on the subject.

In today's world we have only 40% of all cohabitation relationships having successful, long-term relationships...

Over 80% of all divorces are filed by women in the first five years with most seeking financial compensation. Meaning that women are marrying men for money and once drained, they leave. There is no other way to describe what half of the population is doing. The statistics tell a very different story than what you are suggesting.

And yet somehow, in spite of cold hard facts, it's the man's fault?
That's a rather misogynistic view.
Women can be every bit as deceitful as men and possibly moreso.

This also makes divorce the "not completely forgiven sin" as if somehow God has stopped completely forgiving sin.
Your theologies and hermeneutics need some work.

Getting married and having children leads to longer life.

People like you caused the woman at the well.

What, you think she just liked sleeping around? That's what a lot of people assume.

But I've seen a lot of ladies like her, who were miserable. But society has told them that a woman is destined to be married, that that is the only place for her to be, that she will never be a complete woman until she has her grand wedding day and her happily ever after marriage.

The woman at the well was trying to do what society told her she should do. She tried it five times and it kept failing. Finally she said forget it and just shacked up. It wasn't as good as what society said marriage held for her, but it was better than nothing.

And people like you caused it. Y'all are still causing it, to this day.

Now see?
Degenerate people would think that I'm suggesting the subjugation of women....and make no doubt that they are indeed worldly degenerates who do not know scriptures...

Jesus said, "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword"
And even then Jesus, unable to get away from his nature in a moment of urgency, is talking on several levels all at the same time.

There is never been a world created where human man and wife should ever subjugate their spouse. That's a lie from Satan himself.

Currently Women are subjugating their husbands, using the courts and some sort of misogynistic trope from the caveman era to perpetuate the lie. Because they are the ones currently performing the bulk of abuse.
We currently have a 40-45% success rate for long term relationships INCLUDING cohabitation. Women are responsible for 80% of divorces filed including petitions for substantial monetary benefits.

Essentially MOST women are labeling/accusing men of being abusers while taking men to the cleaners financially and emotionally.
The men, trying to not be tyrants, are then themselves subjecting themselves to all forms of abuse from women. From economic, sexual, and physical abuse surrounding household chores. Then divorcing them when a new victim appears on the horizon or the man can no longer supply a woman's growing appetite for money and control.

The statistics tell a clear picture of the Abuse in the USA. It's nothing like what is being told. Nothing most men will admit to.

But essentially Jesus was right....live by the sword die by the sword. And our fertility rate is crashing as a result. If this nation does not have an absolute reversal of destination we will have a complete societal collapse in 20 years.

The first signs are already here of the impending collapse....all the help wanted signs at typically teenager and college kids jobs like grocery stores, fast food, even fine dining, skilled nursing centers, and warehouse workers. All with huge holes due to staff shortages.

The whole concept of two humans living equally and respectfully together....ignoring themselves and just seeking their partner's needs?
Gone....no longer in existence because of those who want to subjugate or inadvertently become subjugated....such loser morons as this are indeed going to get everyone killed.

My first marriage when I was 22 was a trainwreck. I chose her due to lust. After 5 years, we divorced. She cheated on me repeatedly.

I got disgusted with marriage and just had girlfriends for many years.

My backsliding caused me to eventually hit rock bottom. At that point, as I walked past a Baptist church, I told God, “Lord, I need a wife.”

I started attending that church. Two years later the pastor asked me to be a Sunday school teacher. My assistant was a beautiful, virtuous, thoroughly Christian woman named Andrea. We immediately fell in love. We were married for 21 years, then she died.

I feel like God had mercy on me by bringing us together. She also had a miserable first marriage, got divorced, then was single for 19 years, until she met me.

For 21 years, I finally experienced a wonderful life with Andrea as my beloved companion, best friend, and perfect wife.

God said it is not good for man to be alone, so He created Eve.

It is quite a shock now to be single again, a widower. I hate being all alone now. My dream come true is over. I miss Andrea so much, the emotional pain and grieving are extreme.

But I thank God for 21 years of bliss.

I cannot understand how anyone can exist as a single person. My Andrea was the joy and peace of my heart.

Psalm 31:11,12

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

I saw the heartbreak a family member went through after 64 years of marriage.

I am very sorry for your loss, and may God comfort you. 🙏

Have you been eating out of Adstar's bowl?

If you permit your wife to have and use a computer, I would love to hear her take on your opinions about women.

Jesus talks about marriage alot....because it is a symbol and type of relationship we have with our Maker if we have
a positive relationship with God. Two people loving each other get to procreate....that's the design made by God....
God is good. Meaning marriage, children, grandkids and all that is good. God ONLY gives good gifts to mankind.

Hosea comes to mind, as does Isaiah 45 v 7 ~ I form the light and create the darkness; I bring
prosperity and create calamity. I, the LORD, do all these things.
I do not see anywhere in
Scripture where it tells us Paul was divorced. It could be that he was a widower.

We're sorry for your loss. If no one recommended it yet. Cs lewis' a grief observed, which is basically his journal after his wife passed, might be useful to you.

He was technically divorced because according to the multiple layers of marriage Paul was married.

His marriage wasn't consumated....nor did he bring her to his "home". (Likely didn't have anything beyond a rented room...AKA :closet)

Paul was a strange guy in a lot of ways....Fully Jewish to the point of being a low order Rabbi...and a full blown Roman Citizen. (It would have been out of character for him to not be married/engaged by contractual obligation.)

He ministered both to Jews and Gentiles alike even though he was charged with being an apostle to the Gentiles.

You, and most others, are trying to place modern equivalents to a very different culture from over 2000 years ago. They really do not belong.

No I am not trying to place modern equivalents to a very different culture from over 2000 years
ago. I am simply pointing out that you have ZERO Biblical basis for your claims, like it or not.

I do....
It's just anthropological vidence paralleled with statements made by Paul and actions by Paul. Esfrom his early days when he was named Saul and murdering Christians as well as his statements to the Galatians.

Rabbi were not really allowed to be unmarried....it would have been a failing and he never would have studied under Hilell with that sort of failing.
Paul more than likely had not completed his marriage...As he was still ladder climbing. (Obvious).

But he likely bought/paid his way out of his marriage....it would have been VERY expensive for him as he tied up a viable virgin daughter of Abraham in a marriage contract he did not fulfill. Keeping her from finding a different husband. (Expensive part is always time itself).
The Bride price he paid? Gone and even more in addition to the ten drachmas on her headband he gave her personally....

We are talking about enough money to completely outright buy a house and farm near the city with its own well. That's what Paul would have paid to get divorced to a young woman he Really never married according to modern equivalent.
It likely impoverished him to do so. Took everything he had in finances.
