That’s exactly my point when I’m at work. I don’t rob my employer by not giving him 100% attention, if you’re a neurosurgeon, you’re focusing on your job at hand and that’s what God expects of you. Unless you are an othrodox schema monk living in a mountain, or you are retired. You won’t be able to pray when you’re sleeping and you won’t be praying or reqding the Bible when you’re working so assuming you work eight hours a day and sleep eight hours a day that leaves eight hours a day which would be the maximum give or take a couple hours you can put in. It seems people on this forum have a very typical concept of reading the criteria “I specifically layout” which is dedicated time specifically for prayer or reading the Bible.
I agree with you totally about not robbing your employer. Perhaps it would have been more concise to say that I talk to God through-out the day rather than all day along. But there are such things as breaks or lunch or lulls where it would be more appropriate to converse. I focus on the job at hand too.

Brother, it’s a simple question.
All the time is the simple answer it’s a new life living for God not ourselves anymore but takes time to develop …..a process of faith

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:14-19‬ ‭

more Modern terms

“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:

The old has gone, the new is here!”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:14-15, 17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

study is about learning who you are now in Christ it’s a full time gig as we study we become more we’re of what’s been done in the gospel for believers but I’m sorry brother if I disrupted your post or anything or confused you lol I tend to do that God bless

“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Let’s say reading the Bible counts and praying. Let’s for this discussion exclude, listening to Christian or praise music.
Actually this is a very personal matter. Not sure if it is suitable for public discussion.

I get from your post stand, stay in the present, that is God's present to us to live in the present, not past (it is past) not future (It is not here yet) oh wait a sec, it is now and continues to be in thanksgiving and praise whether it is going well our not for now, that be trust no matter what to me at least thanks and have and do go through troubles too, learning contentment in process still while here on earth
Thanks

Hi I understand what your asking easy to understand. The natural side wants to say not enough be it 5min or 4 hours a day. See I see fellowship ..haha the song playing "your presence lord" "Holy Spirit you are welcome here". Yeah what are the odds as I type thinking about this.. this song plays. Always.. He is good. "Nothing worth more that could come close nothing can compare your our living host"

He lets you know if your not doing it enough not with shame or guilt but love. Like this song you haven't heard of nor thought about in along time "I miss my time with you" (Larnelle Harris - I Miss My Time With You). Then out of no where .. what are the odds this old song plays and you hear "I miss my time with you". Not always how He talks but I LOVE LOVE LOVE music. Its like haha.. we me and my wife were driving not that long ago and we were talking about some problem and I said..we'll give it to Him I put my hands together and lifted them up. Guess what song just started to play and side "out of my hands and into yours".

So followship is for me one on one. But just thinking of Him and music which is always just something that is about Him and gives Him glory...yet I love ALL music. That is 24/7...for me please understand that.. for me every moment of ever day .. every thought everything has to be about Him. There in is the fight.. well this flesh does not always do that. As of late any guilt or shame .. say not doing enough of praying or reading or going to Church or giving ANY thought like that... He said "what have I told you to do?" So thinking back over my life I know what His word says.. but yeah I thought over my life and He then said "that guilt shame condemnation is not from me"

But that desire that have to..every moment ever day .. well that has been there since He found me over 50y now.

Watching YouTube videos on God doesn’t count. =) or chatting in Christian forums,
If you can't be having fellowship with God while cleaning house, going to the bathroom, having sex with your spouse, and shopping, but only while stopping all else but reading the Bible and formal prayer, there is something wrong with your relationship/fellowship with God.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Matthew 6:6

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Mark 1:35

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

Luke 5:16
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

Jesus specifically sought solitude for prayer, suggesting that there are times when focused, undisturbed spiritual connection is necessary, apart from daily interactions and responsibilities.

Corinthians 7:5

“Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.”

This passage allows for spouses to set aside time specifically for prayer, suggesting that dedicated spiritual focus sometimes requires pausing other aspects of life.

Paraphrasing here…

… and the spirit of the Lord said to the late Dr. Paul Yoomgghi Cho pastor of the largest congregation in the world 830,000 members ,to build a house of worship apart from his main church in the mountains.. Dr Paul responded, and asked the Lord why did why would I need to do this? They can just pray at church or at home… and the Rhema of the Lord said just do it, because sometimes you need to be alone in the mountains. So he obeyed and bussed all his congregation to the mountain side free of charge every hour every day where he built a house of worship on the mountain…
