How should you act with/around gay people?

No longer under law, but under grace, but see Romans 1 on what God says about homosexuality in the New Covenant..

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Romans 1:26-28 (KJV)

It is a choice, one can choose to leave homosexuality. I have heard a handful of testimonies from former gays who have surrendered their wills to Christ.

How can god say something, and then change his mind later? God doesn't change his mind. If someone makes a law, and then changes it later, he can't be God.

As I said before, there are a plethra of examples in nature which show what you say to be false. In fact the majority of the animal kingdom have demonstrated this type of behavior. But you think somehow that people are the only exception? I suspect you didn't even read the article I provided.

Also, these "fomer gays" that you refer to only say that they aren't gay anymore because of the homophobic behavior exhibited by people like you.

Animals aren't stupid enough to think an animal of the same gender can mate with one of the same gender.

Homophobic? Not even. But I'd rather be called homophobic than be totally clueless on what the Bible teaches. Good luck reconciling that with your erroneous beliefs!

This statement makes no attempt to support your argument. In fact, the only thing it does is show that not only are you ignorant of rational thought, but science as well. The position I was stating is that animals show signs of homosexual behavior. This is an observed fact. Also, people are the most intelligent species on the planet so your statement is wrong on many levels.

Why should you care? It's there choice. If I where gay I would be insulted if someone tryed to change me 'cause it's like saying "You're wrong and you didn't think your choice out right, oh and by the way I did. And I'm right." let them live the way they want to (if it doesn't hurt you or anyone else) if they're wrong I'm sure they will find out in time and Jesus will always take 'em back righ'. All humans are your bros, y'know. Treat everyone as a friend.

My daughter has some friends that are GAY & LESIBAN what do I think of them ...

I feel we are children of GOD no matter what choices we make in life. I am not going to say to there face " I do not like you because your GAY or LESIBAN " your a friend of my daughter's & I am happy to be your friend as well ... and they have excepted me w/ open arms & have even come to me to share in there special times ..

So, that is how I feel ...

ChristisLord, Homosexuals can be freed from homosexuality, and I'm proof of that. And believe me, it wasn't because of homophobic behaviour that I decided to go straight... it was God's amazing love that set me free. If I based my sexuality off of how people treated me, I probably would've stayed stuck in the mess I was in. After all, the gay community was none-too-pleased when I left because of the amazing freedom Jesus gave me. But I'm not here to please people (love them, yes, but not please them). It only matters what Jesus thinks of me... peace out, dude

IF i was lelisban or bi i would hate it if ppl treated me diff
so just treat her or him as if they were just a person nothin more & nothin less
if u got asked out by a lelisban or a bi person just say "sorry i dnt go that way im in 2 guys not girls"
(or other way around 4 guys if they get asked out by a gay guy)
 
I have a lot of gay friends. Male and one is female-she is Bi. I treat them just the same as I would treat a straight person. With love and respect. I tell them about God and that He loves them no matter who they are or what they've done. That they can come before him and not have guilt or shame because He is a loving and merciful God. They should be treated just as any other person is treated. I mean yes the Bible says it's an sin but the Bible also says that lust, hatred, anger, adultry, murder, and many other things are sins. We people that call ourselves Christians daily harbor those feelings and commit those sins, but we aren't treated like we are dirty, and not accepted. I really also think our Church, the Body of Christ, needs to turn away from the ways they are walking in. Our churches are so quick to judge and not accept gay people into them. They have no business calling themselves Christians then. If we are made in the likeness of Jesus, then were are called to LOVE EVERYONE. The Bible says if we just love then lovable, does that mean we deserve a medal? If we just greet those who greet us, what does that make us? The run of the mill sinner does that. I don't know if they should be considered broken people or not. Not many of the ones I know seem to be that way. I just think they feel as though they are born that way. And if they feel that way, then so be it. That is between them and God and we have no business condemning them for it. Like one girl said up here, we are not their judge, God is. So the answer to your question of "how should you act with/around gay people?" act in love and mercy, treat them like they are human beings, because that's what they are. Like everyone else, no different from you and me.

P.S - how do you act around a gay/lesbian friend? Take the word gay/lesbian out of the equation and just treat them as a friend...
 
I have a nephew that has walked away from his faith and is gay and reciently {married?} . My heart aches for him as when he was a child he did love Jesus. There were many events that changed his path, no excuse, but it led him where he is now. I still love him and continue to talk to him. He knows that I believe what he is doing is wrong in the eyes of God and I will never condone orsupport his behavior. But he also knows that I love him and that any time he wants I will share my faith and love for Jesus with him. I will not invite him to my home except for large family gatherings. Mostly because I do not condone his flamboyant behavior and his promotion of it. Mostly I try to maintain the Love of Jesus Christ to him and all. I believe that by doing so it bears witness to his love and forgiveness that is always there for all. If we close the door to those that sin then where can those go for help and a witness if their hearts open to Jesus? God bless, pickles
 
Treat them with Godly love and respect if they come on to you say no thank I am not interested if they get upset which they usually do don't change how you act toward them just pray for them cause they need Jesus just as much as we all do. Only Jesus can heal them
 
JCaroline: Why would the fact that someone of the same sex tells you that make it any worse than one of the opposite that you weren't attracted to? It's your mind and your body, just say No the same way you would with a guy asking you the same way.

as for the topic: why should we act differently to them than to others, we sin too, I don't think that my friends beeing gay is any worse than me lying or swearing

Don't get me wrong,neither am I homosexual nor bisexual. But I get really sick about people calling a human being an "abomination". Who are we to judge?
Wouldn't it be the greater sin to sacrifice a healthy relationship (no matter betwen whom) just the meet the expectations of certain people?
As long as a love is true and faithful I don't see why God should have anything against it.
