2 Corinthians 4 verses 16-18 ~ We do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that is far beyond comparison. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Yes, Blain, you are a very tender hearted person, I can understand why such a loss would be a blow to you...

Hebrews 12 verses 1-3 ~ Let us run with endurance the race set out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him Who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
:)
one thing did happen from it though, I asked God that if hell does exist let me take their place, his answer was that is what Jesus died on the cross for.

Well Mr Blain,
I have a great idea for you
Just refer all those people
You want to pray for
to Magenta. And then watch
By her praying for them
all their lives change.

Now that's a brilliant idea
Don't you think?
I already have, for a witch I have been talking to.

1 Corinthians 15 verse 58 ~ Be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

If I may how many of your prayers have been answered compared to the number unanswered?
All of my prayers are answered, although sometimes the answer is "no" or "not yet",
but I guess every time I pray for God's will to be done it is granted.

This is a common question even amongst believers, many prayers either go unanswered or the answer is wait or no according to many but I haven't seen this in scripture anywhere. Jesus said “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)
Nowhere does it say the answer is no or wait So why then do most prayers go unanswered?
I believe that God always answers prayer, but His answer is not always "Yes." Sometimes it is "No," and sometimes "Not yet."

I completely forgot about that verse.
Some don't translate it completely , "Ask and keep asking", "seek and keep seeking" , "Knock and keep knocking". Still needs to be aligned with His will for the redeeming of His creation.
Have you ever invited Holy Spirit to come?
I know I have shared the Doncaster DHT, and John Wimbers Personal Pilgrimage with you, both great teaching on staying in the Spirit. I know we have discussed this.
We have not because we ask not, we ask and receive not because we ask amiss.

giving time and energy to a witch isn't how to walk in Holiness
I am working on bringing her to Christ, she had a sleep paralysis attack and was terrified and I have slowly but surely made her want to come to Christ

Did He guide you to this or is it a work of your own hands that you expect Him to honor even though it is not in His will to reach her your way??????
If the words "I, me, my" are in our vocabulary we are not where He wants our mind to be, we are no longer our own when we are in Him.

In the 12 step program we are taught to pray only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. And there are
some here who think no matter what they pray for God will give, as if they can boss Him around. Quite concerning to hear that.
Well put!(y)
I have shared this before and stand by it. I have learned that often prayers are answered in
ways never thought of, and I can attest to this truth. Prayer is surely subject to personal spiritual
awareness. Profound events have occurred in my spiritual journey that have led me to believe prayers
are not answered in ways one might think they will be.

All I know is that she needed help and has slowly been wanting to come to Christ
The thing is she believes it is to late for her believing she has done to much wrong to be saved.
Did Jesus not eat and drink with sinners? did he not come for the lost? am I to not try to lead her to Christ because she is a witch?

James 4:3
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

As many I see, including me, I continued to ask and at first did not get, and was desiring for the here and now,
Once, the Judge got tired of me asking for the sugar and so gave it to me. I then learned and saw, to not ask for anything to get it for my own selfish desire, even for those others I love as well
Speaking in my experience, of not listening first to God in dependance on God, knows best. Learned/ learning to be inner-dependent on my Daddy's lead in risen Son for me. Not my own thought(s). I tried to be independent, not anymore, I n ow stand in trust to God. Seeing what began with Adam and Eve that failed first in not trusting God in death would happen and has ever since, by wanting to be God, independent form God. Yet God Father reversed this curse in saving our souls by Son Jesus for us all to choose to believe and stand in that or not, free choice. whether here in the flesh or there with him, Romans 14 tells me this
Inner-dependant, no more of self or anyone else Phil 3

I know because the people I pray for continue to suffer in their afflictions and some of them end up giving up and just walking away from God. See I go on reddit a lot because there are so many hurting and confused people on there they post a lot on there and I keep tabs on them, I lost one to suicide just the other day.....
Precious friend, @Blain, yes it is very sad that many read "certain things" in The Bible, take it for themselves, REALLY believe it, but then when it does not "come to pass" then they are dis-heartened and discouraged, some even "leaving God behind" in their lives.

Does God Have An Answer To this kind of 'infirmity'? I believe so, found in His Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided (# 17):

Prophecy/Law, for Israel ( them not us...)
(17) Taught how/what to pray! (Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2 AV)

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15 AV) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

Mystery/GRACE! = for The Body Of Christ ( us! ):
(17a) we Are Exhorted to "...Make our requests known Unto God!" (Who HEARS EVERY request!!)
(
Philippians 4:6 AV) While, At The Same Time, God "Teaches":

(17b) Concerning our infirmities, we "know Not" what to pray "as we ought,"
But "The Spirit Intercedeth FOR us, According To The Will Of God!..."
(
Romans 8:26 AV)

Praying / hoping this helps Encourage and Edify you, Growing In Grace, and
getting closer to The LORD Jesus Christ, and His "ALL-Sufficient Grace!"

Amen.

You asked "why then do most prayers go unanswered". Personally I would have know way of knowing "most go unanswered" :) Time.. we do tend to put GOD on some time clock which is very unwise. I know one of my prayers was answered 15y later. That was not about others. Well others have a will and God cannot go against that. My mom worked with elderly and a man was about to die and he didn't know Christ he was in a coma my mom prayed he would wake up one more time and get a chance to repent. He did wake up I believe he got saved.. praise GOD.

Maybe we don't ask according to His will. Gods will is His word. People pray for healing.. when Christ said lay hands on the sick they shall recover. That right there means instant healing but what some don't know is that it also means over time. So some again tend to go by what they feel or see He said shall be healed... . He said if we know God hears us then we know we have the petitions/prayers we asked for. Yet the flip side is "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord"

He said you have not because you ask not or your asking wrong. I can ask help with money to pay bills yet if I do not want to work .. you understand. Then are we gossiping backbiting or unforgiveness maybe sin in our life unconfessed? Its so easy to just blame God or say .. He just does not want me to have it. Which goes against His word for what ever you desire when you pray believe you receive it you shall have it. The key.. "but let him ask in faith". OT delight yourself in the lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Keep reading.. commit your way to Him trust Him He will do it.

I only share what I know not what some group or so and so said. Faith works both ways ever hear that classic . I have so many times "I get sick every year about this time". Wow that is great faith. That right there is not in Gods word but that faith works. John 3:16-17 yeah you lol.. you spoke it you confessed it you believed it with your heart. Do you see? That right there is it. See it works because when you quote what your Father GOD said you never do it for personal gain. You have not because you ask not or your asking wrong. Psa 91? Praise GOD.. last

This is your Father.. as Isaac was you are children of promise. Your GOD said "I also gave you your master’s house, and put your master’s wives into your care and under your protection, and I gave you the house (royal dynasty) of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have given you much more!"

Truth we do not know Him. He said its better to give then to receive. Yeah here its twisted ..duh receiving is far better huh! No.. you want that reward? Do what your Father does.. Sorry went on to long.. I'm no one. You seek you pray you find what He said in His word.. and ask Him.. He has never got tired of hearing you talk.. we never talk enough to Him. So ask with your heart. Father you said this you said that.. what does it mean? KNOW He heard you .. you have to ask from your heart... we are so loved.

To be honest I don't even know what I can pray for anymore, I have had prayers answered for myself but when I pray for others well i never see results maybe they got healed or got the help I asked for but I sure never saw thye results.
And for that person who comitted suicide well to be honest that was a major blow to me

So was it not his will that the person could be helped? was it not his will that they could feel his love just once? only for them to take their lives anyways?

big question & tough to answer. 1st: if atheists are praying to God, God will not hear their prayer. ( John 9:31 ). 2nd: its certainly seems most of the time believers do not know what is right for them, especially in the future. God's infinite wisdom is so beyond us we can't fathom it or understand it. 3rd: if God answered us why He didn't give us something, we, upon hearing His answer, would say, "oh yeah God, you are right"!!! 5: learn this verse, John 14:13- "and whatsoever you ask in MY NAME, that will I do that the father may be glorified in the Son". what we ask for isn't what is always in God's name. 6: if someone is experiencing great trouble in the receiving of what's asked for, ask God what he wants for you! too, 1st John 3:20-22 lends a helping hand here: "if our heart CONDEMN us, God is greater than our heart & knoweth all things, if our heart CONDEMN US NOT, then have we confidence towards God........."

We know God’s intentional will is for every person to feel His love and be helped but His permissive will allows that not to happen. However we also know His punishment is just.

.

Prayers that go unanswered must not have wanted God's will to be done (Matt. 26:36-44).
That's it in a nutshell. If I actually got all that I prayed for I would have been in a world of hurt.
