I don't get this

Every month I change my avatar. All my avatars have one thing in common -- my stuffed animals. I suspect it works most of the time, because do you really think someone with stuffed animals has the mental capacity to have money to defraud her? I haven't received many stranger-request on here except last month.

What was different about last month? I still had stuffed animals in the avatar, but it was also more me than them. I really do think the scammers are dumb enough to think women are easy marks. (Yeah, and I have no mental capacity because I like stuffed animals. lol)

I think it would be funny if we all chose an avatar with the opposite gender one month. Let the guys have photos of women (any age, strangely enough) and the women have avatars of men.

I can almost guarantee the men will get the scams and we won't.

It really is about the avatars. After all, my user name has been pink all along.
 
I was going to make a thread about how many hits I get, and how popular I am on this site. ;)

But I've been beat to it.

Twice.

And now it all seems so narcissistic to post a thread, or two, about myself, like that. :D

It's like they bypass the beginning of this site and fake themselves to be "real" people and naturally I get stuck being a victim of circumstance.

Meaning, they message me.. (randomly) and say "hi, I'm so-and-so, nice to meet you..." and blah, blah, blah.. and I fall for it every time! And become "friends" with them.. then either that day...or a few days later or weeks later; they are fake!

What is it? I don't understand why this happens all the time now when it rarely did. It's frustrating and my pregnancy hormones can't take it half the time.

Anyways, don't mind the rant... I'm just curious as to what has been going on.

You can set your PMs for 'contacts only' so only people on your friends list here can PM you. Its in the settings somewhere.
 
I'm the type of person that can catch a catfish within seconds. And days/weeks/months later, they are found that they are indeed catfish.

I was going to be a psychologist, and even though it's online, I can still see if someone might be stretching the truth a lot.

You might not be exactly referring to catfishing, but.....I know it's so frustrating. And you start to trust that person and they break that trust.

It's sad.
