Hey Everyone!

Have you ever found someone else's lead to be a bad influence in your life? I keep in touch with a handful of people I've met on CC, and we usually chat a little every day, just talking about everyday life.

While this is a blessing I'm definitely thankful for, it can have... varying side effects. For instance, the Gardening Envy I now suffer with (as mentioned in another thread,) and in particular, Fanning the Flames of Food Cravings I am always trying to keep under control.

I have been craving pizza for weeks (I see it as a treat I don't have often,) but... it was mentioned earlier in the week, and... I really, really wanted pizza. I tried to hold out. But other chat members kept mentioning pizza, and so --

"I Bought and Ate a Pizza, and Now I Am Blaming @RodB651 and @cinder."

Now, I know I can't "really" blame them for my own choices but... They talked about eating pizza and (gasp) at one point, even had the audacity to post a picture, and so my willpower went right out the window. Therefore, it MUST somehow be their fault, right?! :p

Likewise, now --

"I Am Craving a Donut, And I Am Blaming @Lynx," because he mentioned having a donut. I've been craving donuts for weeks and was holding out, but for some reason -- hearing about someone else partaking in a Fried Ring of Tastiness makes me want to drive to a bakery immediately.

Alas. I haven't had a donut YET (I even ate a Fig Newton, trying to quell the temptation,) but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give in SOON -- and so I am surely blaming Lynx for it! :p (Especially since he mentioned one of my favorite kinds, the old-fashioned donuts usually made with buttermilk, enveloped in a thick ice-like coating of crystal glaze!)

How about you? :D

* When did you buy something "under the influence" of someone else?

* When did you try something because someone close to you tried it?

* When have you eaten things you might have otherwise resisted -- but SOMEONE just had to mention them to you?!

* Are there any activities you've tried -- that didn't go so well -- all because someone else you know did, and you couldn't resist?

If you are somehow easily influenced (in a playful way) by others, we feel your pain!!!

What things have you bought, eaten, or participated in -- and who are you blaming it all on, because obviously, it wasn't your fault?!

Hmm.

I'm not sure why the tags didn't work for @cinder and @Lynx, but I'm re-tagging them just to make DOUBLY sure they know that THEY are OBVIOUSLY to blame for my bad choices!!:cool::devilish:

Well awhile ago I bought a stuffed dog and I'm completely blaming @seoulsearch for it. If not for her I wouldn't have even been looking at the stuffed animals.

Also blaming not feeling well for quite a lot of bad decisions.

And sometimes I spend way too much time watching online videos, but I blame youtube for that.

I blame @HealthAndHappiness for all the TikTok videos I watch after the one he links to...

One time after wondering how many I had watched, I thought to scroll back up and count each one,
thinking maybe I had watched about twenty after the first one? Ugh. I stopped counting at 50 LOL

OOOHHH, this is exactly why I haven't signed up for Instagram or TikTok -- I just know I would be INSTANTLY hooked -- and hopelessly addicted!

Thank you for reminding me to be honest with myself!!

I don't know that I am signed up for them... and maybe I am confusing TikTok with youtube shorts? To me
it is all the same... I can watch TikTok stuff without having an account with them... or maybe I do and don't
know it... because way back when I may have used TikTok to get phone screen savers or something. Haha.

Of course none of that matters in the long run because it is all @HealthAndHappiness 's fault regardless!!!

Donut. Good idea. I think I'll eat a donut.

And it wasn't crystal. It was a chocolate coated one. Those are THE best. Something about the chocolate coating just goes soooooo well with an old fashioned.

I blame the salvage grocery for most of my bad decisions. Everything is slightly dented but cheaper than dirt. (Literally! Have you priced potting soil lately? It's insane!) So I try a lot of stuff on the basis of, "At that price... Eh, why not?"

Of course I have tried a few things I didn't like. I found out VERY fast "why not?" for anchovies. When I get something I don't like, the dog has a good day. He's always there to help me dispose of a bad choice.

The problem isn't the stuff I don't like though. The problem is the stuff I DO like. Right now I have a few boxes of Larabar brownies crying for my attention. (Sweetened with honey! Delicious!) They claim neglect because I've been spending all my time with a bag of cauliflower based puffed cheddar veggie snacks. (Don't look at me like that. They're tasty.) Everything in sweets and junk food that I buy, I blame on the salvage grocery. It's their fault because they COULD make their prices a bit higher...

Oh yes , I know 😞 why is it that all the really good special offers r for sugar or fat filled food ? When do we every c veg or salad or meat or fruit at ridiculously low prices ? I had to drag myself ( no , I'm lying 😳 hubby had to ) away from these large toasted coconut ring things with a big dollup of strawberry jam in the middle , u got 5 in a pack for just £1 ! There must have been 1500 calories worth of sugar and fat in that pack at least ! And for just £1 ! The shop they r in is literally just over the road from where I live . I'm not sure I'm gonna b able to sleep tonight 👀😬 .

Don't worry Suze, this is a safe space to share!

For me, any semblance of a healthy diet for the day has been thoroughly tossed out the window -- I've been enjoying boxed mac'n'cheese, M&M's, and fig newtons...

I don't know who to blame for this catastrophe, but I'm sure to find someone/something before it's all over!

(I'm still partially blaming @Lynx because I've been eating to fig newtons to try to make me forget about wanting donuts.):oops:

I think the reason for not working - is because the name was followed by a period or something similar, without leaving a space. The period then becomes part of the name.

Very helpful @BillyBob, thank you!

I've also had some times where I would highlight part of the post, then accidentally highlighted part of the tag, and that messed it up as well.

Thank you for for the useful tip! :)

Pfft! I know it will be Winston doing the stoning. I have no fear on two accounts. One, his throwing wing is weak. Two, his accuracy is abysmal. If he is throwing at me, I am the only thing that IS safe.
