pete you seem to be a preacher in search of a congregation, but this is not a church. This is a forum where we come to hang out and chat. If you go to the local coffee shop and yell at them about God it will be a massive flop, however good your intentions are.

Also I can't agree with anything you have preached so far. Many many things you have said directly contradicted the Bible. I'm not going to make a list because I have to go to bed in a few hours and it would take longer than that to compile the list. I have to say I cannot say well done.

But as the scottish say, may the road rise to meet you. Fare ye well until we meet again.
 
Pete, try to look at ll the positives in your life because of Jesus. Don't focus or get captivated by the perceived shortcomings. First, God may be doing something thaty you look at as a hole or gap for a reason you do not yet understand,
Second, to be blunt, none of us deserve anything but death.
Don't look at what your missing in this world, look at what you've gained due to Jesus.
Third, my brother, I am not saying that I do not sometimes do the same thing, but when you realize that hundreds of Christians in the middle eat are being killed, tortured, raped, and starved, what in the world do any of us have to complain about?
 
I don't know Pete, you can take this as a message from God or not. It is not my writing, but from a devotional that Oswald Chambers wrote. I just read it. I usually read, do my devotionals in the morning, but i could not today. I thouht of you when I read this.


"Anything that savours of dejection spiritually is always wrong. If depression and oppression visit me, I am to blame; God is not, nor is anyone else. Dejection springs from one of two sources - I have either satisfied a lust or I have not. Lust means - I must have it at once. Spiritual lust makes me demand an answer from God, instead of seeking God Who gives the answer.

What have I been trusting God would do? And today - the immediate present - is the third day, and He has not done it; therefore I imagine I am justified in being dejected and in blaming God. Whenever the insistence is on the point that God answers prayer, we are off the track. The meaning of prayer is that we get hold of God, not of the answer. It is impossible to be well physically and to be dejected. Dejection is a sign of sickness, and the same thing is true spiritually. Dejection spiritually is wrong, and we are always to blame for it"

If you read this, please take a few moments to consider my words...

Each of us is a work in progress. Each of us has strengths and weaknesses, preferences and dislikes. Each of us is unique, and has something valuable to offer others. Each of us also has rough edges; things about us which make us less likely to get along with some people. I know this well; I'm in my later 40's and still learning some social skills which many people learn in their teen years.

Allow me to offer some advice: in this forum at least, stop preaching and start being vulnerable. Allow yourself to be known as a person, rather than a giver of unsolicited advice. I think you have received enough criticism to understand that your approach has not been well-received. However, most of us are believers in Christ; we have been forgiven much, and we are willing to forgive.

I would encourage you to stick around and change your approach completely. Perhaps begin with an apology. Share who you are, not just what you know. Tell about what's happening in your life. Offer to pray for someone who is having a rough time. If you want friends who will encourage you, it really helps to be one yourself. If you truly just want to preach at us, you chose the wrong place; most of us didn't come to this forum for instruction, but for fellowship. Most of us have found it. You might even find that you have something valuable to offer... something which you hadn't considered previously. :)

We preach to others because we love the Word of God and we feel moved by the call to share the Gospel to share it with other human beings... Well at least that should be the main factor in sharing the Message of God..

If your focus is to recieve the accolades and praise of other people and you are not willing to share the Word of God unless you do have a cheer squad to boost your ego and you only preach on street corners or in CC to get the glory of men then you won't be a preacher for long ..

I don't know your posts as I just came back on here, but the attitude of "If Christians don't subject themselves to me the way I want then I am going to go sin!" is...really illogical.

If I adopted that, there would be a lot of dead people, namely bad drivers. :)

This only shows immaturity while illustrating the desire to feel 'self-important'. This is just 'ego' talking...

Support and encouragement are more meaningful when offered freely from the heart, as opposed to being in response to a demand.

There is no doubt that you have some very real needs that are not being met. I sincerely hope that you are able to find and receive the support that you need ( not necessrily what you want - what you want may not be what you need ) through a constructive means...

Just because someone in sincere in their paranoid false spirituality doesn't mean i'm going to support them. In fact, as a Christian, it is our duty to counter false teachers such as this. There's nothing Christian in supporting everyone who seems sincere. Truth trumps sincerity. Truth trumps a desire to be supported in wrong teaching.

No, you're right. We should let this guy teach paranoid, delusional, unbiblical lies and get away with it. How very ungodly of me to speak against that. After all Jesus set that example right? Oops, no, he didn't. So far your only argument is your personal opinion that we should let someone say whatever they want, no matter how wrong it is. Let his lies mislead people because we should be nice. My argument is he's teaching false teachings and he should be held accountable for that. Which is really the more valid argument?

God gave you conflict so that you can learn resolution. Pls seek God if you feel troubled, Jesus and his disciples were ridiculed but they never gave up. They prayed for those that rebuked them. Do not marry a non- Christian to prove a point. If anything the bible mentions the troubles you will face by marrying a non- Christian. At least lead her to Jesus before you do so. Pls do not give up..keep on..Jesus never said it would be easy.
