Are you a born again Christian? Then you are at war, like it or not!

Once you become born again from heaven, that is, born again from the Holy Spirit, you are transferred from the kingdom of darkness, to the kingdom of light. For that reason alone, you have become an enemy of the devil. He does not like the truth and the fact, that because you are born again from the Holy Spirit now, you belong to God, and you do not belong to the god of this world, anymore.

Before you were born again, or before you became a Christian, you belonged to the enemy of your soul, the devil, because the Bible says that he is the god of this world. Without God and his Holy Spirit in your heart, you belonged to the spirit of Antichrist, which is the spirit influencing and dwelling in the hearts of many people in this world, who are not Christians, and who do not have Jesus Christ dwelling in their hearts.

When you were still in the kingdom of darkness, before you became born again, the devil could use you for his own purposes and wishes. But now, because you are a born again child of God, and you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in your heart, he can not touch you, as written in one of the Epistles of John, in the New Testament. Therefore, because Jesus Christ lives in your heart and is Lord of your life, you have automatically become an enemy of the devil, and you have overcome him, by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, shed on the cross for your sins, and by your testimony about Jesus, as written in the book of Revelation.

Before you were born again, the devil had victory over you and your life, because you were living in his kingdom, the kingdom of darkness. After you have become born again, you have overcome the devil, and you have the power and authority to command him in the name of Jesus, to leave your life, or the lives of other people, because of what Jesus Christ did for you and me, by his death on the cross, and by his resurrection from the death. As it says in the book of Acts, Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil, and he destroyed them completely, glory and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for that! Amen!

But although the devil is defeated enemy, because Jesus Christ destroyed his works on earth by his death on the cross for our sins and his resurrections from the death, the devil still tries from time to time to fight Christians in various ways, because the Bible says that he is like roaring lion, going around the world, looking for someone to devour. And that was written for Christians.

In the book of Revelation, chapter 12 and verse 17, it says that the dragon, which is the devil, went to wage war against Christians, those who keep God's commands. From that verse alone, you can see that the enemy of our soul, is still trying to fight Christians, in one way or another. But the only way the enemy can defeat a Christian in a certain way, is when a Christian falls into temptation to do certain sin, not because a Christian wants to sin, but because of difficult or pressing situations, or because of giving in to the sinful nature living in the body of every Christian, just because, a Christian decides to give in to temptation.

But nevertheless, if a Christian, who has give to temptation and has sinned, if that Christian repents, and seeks God's forgiveness and mercy, God will forgive that Christian, and will restore him, and most likely help that Christian and train him to try to fight that temptation in the future, so that the Christian will not fall into the same temptation again. But even then, there is no guarantee, that the Christian will not fall in the same temptation in the future again.

We as Christians, although we do not want to sin, we sometimes give in to temptation and sin. But we have the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross for our sins, to cleanse us from our sins, when we repent before God. Glory and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for that! May our God and Father help us not to fall into temptations and sin, in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!

I like your overview and wish it were so. I believe the battle belongs to the Lord. For even michael the arch angle said the Lord rebuke you.
In Christ we are able to withstand the wilds of the devil. The church along with the Holy Spirit restrains the work of evil.
Surely your not saying we have power to eliminate our foe.
We are called to occupy till our savior and great king comes.

I really enjoyed the read thanks for taking time to post it !

this part

“ you have overcome the devil, and you have the power and authority to command him in the name of Jesus,”

I’m not sure anyone should be trying to command the devil or even evil spirits I’m thinking about this guy who tried that

“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:13, 15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think your post is wonderful I just don’t believe Christians should be looking at satan as if we have authority over him

even the arch angel micheal knew not to provoke him

“Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus has overcome temptation sin and death meaning he has overcome the devil. We should look to him to keep us safe from the devil and just put on our battle gear and begin to fight the good fight

there’s a battle plan in scripture

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-17‬ ‭

What if a Christian forgets to repent of a sin ?
How does one "forget" to repent of sin?
Is it like, "You know, I'm going to repent of my sin after lunch."
5 days later.
"You know, I have this nagging feeling I forgot to do something. Hmmmm...if only I could remember."

Seriously, though, I think if we're following Christ, sin weighs heavily on us. It's not something we forget to repent of. Though I expect stubbornness can keep us from it. But that's completely different from "forgetting".

I'm saying ' what if though. Like you were planning to later and you forgot the minor one before the big one and it slipped your mind? Are we heading for hell if a sin is left unrepented for ?

On the same concept I am at peace. At peace with God through the shed blood of Christ and the grace of God. My Savior has already defeated all the enemies of unrighteousness. Christ has vanquished all the foes that oppose His kingdom and His subjects.

Christ gives the peace that passes all understanding. We have a spirit of peace not of fear. Much more is said of our standing for Christ in testimony to what Jesus has done than any warfare I can engage in by my strength.

First, why wait to repent later? Even the so-called "little" sins are easy to address in the moment. As soon as they come to attention, we can immediately talk to Yahweh about it.

Also, I would say Roman's 8:26 applies:
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

And lastly, my husband says "forgetting" sounds like an excuse one of our kids would give. Lol

Then Romans 8:26-27
Romans 8 is about suffering , but focusing on the ' hope to come ' through our suffering / groaning / troubles/ tribulations. When we know longer can have strength to pray for what we ought ...ect .

23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for

Were waiting for the adoption. Which is the redemption of the body . Its what a believer is predestinated to After they believed.

Human beings are more than just "mind". The heart, the soul, the will, the emotions, are all involved in a personality. Therefore repentance involves the entire person, and his or her entire lifestyle. It is a 180 degree turning from sins and idols, and turning to the living God and Christ.

Getting back to the title of the thread, yes every genuine child of God is immediately in a war zone, and involved in spiritual warfare. Naturally, God protects the lambs from the same bitter warfare that He allows His mature sheep. And some are called to become martyrs. Given the way things are now developing worldwide, the persecution of Christian in the West is going to get extreme, since Satan has taken control of all world governments through the COVID scamdemic.

Satan and all his evil angels and demons are at war with Christians, but the Bible says that GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU THAN HE THAN IS IN THE WORLD. This means that Christians must (1) never be fearful, (2) never run away from the battle, and (3) never turn their backs to the enemy. Just as bullies back off when people stand up to them, spiritual bullies back off at the name of Jesus and when confronted by the Holy Spirit and the Sword of the Spirit -- the Word of God.

Seriously, though, I think if we're following Christ, sin weighs heavily on us. It's not something we forget to repent of. Though I expect stubbornness can keep us from it. But that's completely different from "forgetting".
repentance comes through acknowledgement of the truth of the gospel , when people realize sin is the will of Satan and when we sin it’s because we’re deceived and he is pulling our strings like we’re still captive to his will

“In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

acknowledging the things jesus preached leads one to repentance and frees us from that snare and captivity that causes us to sin. Most won’t acknowledge or don’t understand they are in a state of captivity and servitude when they are sinning

the truth that sets us free

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

..Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 34, 36‬ ‭

Paul’s teaching also are built upon the same thing

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death,

or of obedience unto righteousness?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin,

but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

...But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death;

but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:16-18, 22-23‬ ‭

when we understand the truth about sin and repentance

“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:21, 23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:

but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭

If we continue willfully serving sin once and if it be so as we have been set free as believers , the promises aren’t the same they are in fact devastating even having partaken of the Holy Ghost and the good word

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That is meant to create urgency in our belief for us to repent so we aren’t among those who continue in willful sin as we learn the truth . Most often anytime someone comes across scripture like that , a few come to exclude it and explain it doesn’t apply but that’s why we struggle with repentance we refuse to accept that sin is death and repentance is eternal

I agree with everything you said in your post except this.

I will say this from my own perspective:

I sin because I want to, period. I make a choice to do it. But, I agree with you about the necessity to repent. So, I make it a goal to confess my sins often, confess them early, and confess them fully without offering any excuse.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:19.

Thank the Father in the name of Jesus for that. If not, I would be in bad shape. I would be the standard-bearer at the gates of hell without that saving grace.

Also, I'm not sure why you stated that the enemy can defeat us. He has already lost. You know that. Maybe the right words escaped you. It happens to me all the time.

He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Col. 2:14-15

There is a tug of war that goes on inside a Christian every day. The Apostle wrote about it........"that I would not do, I do, and that I would do, I do not" ........or something like that

Are you a born again Christian? Then you are at war, like it or not!
Hmmm . . . not me. The Devil has been defeated by the Circumcision of Christ.

Verse 15 of below says that in the life of an individual, Satan has been defeated for the True Jew; the True Christian.

Colossians 2:11-15 NLT - "When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross."

What may feel like a war with the Devil (for the True Christian or Jew) is actually Holy Discipline from the Lord. Discipline is not evil, for this is a concept from above and not from below.

Agreed, Satan is indeed defeated. Yet, those temptations that cause you to sin and stumble and trip you up are from that defeated source. Even though You are in Victory, You will ultimately win the Big Final War, You're losing many battles in the flesh on a daily basis.
