My right arm was in a cast for one of my birthdays, too... from falling on the ice also :giggle:

As someone who is by nature itinerant...
I've lived in a lot of places.
I've also visited more.
(Travel is addictive).

Nashville TN once had an appeal to me...it's changed and the appealing features are gone. People keep moving here though at the tune of 80 per day...every day. So if you move here....no whining...it is YOUR fault.

Bay area California to the Sierras... even down to Southern California... beautiful state. The people? Completely annoying. Not as bad as those from a particular area of Connecticut but a very close second. California has more variety of annoying people.

New York and New Jersey? Again wonderful places once you get out of the cities. Beautiful states with a magestic view for every season.

Same thing with the Northern Midwest...but they can keep that lake effect snow and cold winters. Texas can keep that tree moss and intense heat and humidity.
They might have a variety of trees in Texas but the tree moss makes them look all the same. Where I like Mexican food and steaks occasionally...my pallet requires much more variety than they offer.
Deep south east? Too many bugs!
The gnat wave is not my customary vision. Biscuits and barbecue are not my only food groups.

I loved Brazil...the warm, friendly people are crown jewels themselves for this tropical nation. They do tend to party themselves into poverty often...but a little celebration for just having visitors is really nice. (Honduras isn't as welcoming...in any fashion)

Europe was very clique ish....the communities are insanely good and bad at the same time. A very odd mix. I found that I could fit in...I just wasn't sure if I really wanted to.

So...in the end I'm kinda just not really interested in moving. I'm fine here...but I can make a home everywhere. (And have)
From the Northwest to the Southeast...(and all points in between)

Im sorry I cannot solve peoples climate problems...but if you look on a world climate map that has hardiness zone for plants, you'll see the zones which are frost free. Then I supoose you can make an informed decision on where to live if you were to live anywhere you chose and didnt want to slip on any ice.

Jerusalem, even though it's a hot spot, I think everywhere is nowadays. At least there is the history, scenery of places in the Bible and the aura of times past there.

Dont know how you get there though.

Apparently, the last kids on earth live in Wakefield, Massachussets, USA. Not really sure why THAT town was spared.

It's not exactly as exciting as I had imagined. It's definitely a tourist trap...

Israel, including Jerusalem, is safe. It's a police state. There are police and soldiers (IDF) everywhere. There is no violent crime whatsoever.

The Taxi drivers are the biggest crooks...the shops in Old City are the next biggest. The money exchange places are actually the most honest places to go. (You can't buy anything with dollars...has to be shekels)

And I will say that knowing the history and geography BEFORE you go helps. That way you know what you are looking at and not relying on your tour guide. My wife and I didn't use one. We did just fine with busses and taxis. (Avoid King David hotel... just saying)

The place is fine. The people tend to be annoying. I prefer peace and relaxing more. Like South America...they know how to have fun and relax. It's just humid and warm there...and everything is trying to get you sick.

Fortunately I haven't been planning to leave good ole Tennessee for the rest of my life. =^.^=
 
I was reading about the housing projects in Brooklyn, New York and how this principal started a school there in the middle of gang territory.

I kept wondering why there were these horrible 'housing projects'. where people dont really live, they might have a roof over their head but only the bare basics and nothing else. Who are the landlords? Or rather, the slumlords of these?
 
live in same suburb of the girl who likes me so we can meet at last ...

If you like nature, and coffee culture, Madeira Island, Portugal. Great hiking, sailing, mountain biking, and fishing is not bad either. Good sandy beaches on Porto Santo are only a ferry trip away. The cost of living is relatively low. It has a mediterranean climate, and cafe's everywhere!
