Last night, a massive thunderstorm hit near me. It only lasted about 10 minutes, but it wreaked havoc for miles. There are downed and even uprooted trees everywhere, and one of them missed my car by only two feet. Along with the downed trees are downed power lines for several miles.

I have been without both power and water since last night, and I am hearing that it might be a week until that is rectified. Also, they are calling for another storm this evening, so things could potentially get worse. Just eating might be problematic because stores and even fast food places are without power for miles, and I have no electricity for cooking or refrigeration. I haven't set out yet to buy water for drinking and bathing somehow, but I am imagining there is going to be a scarcity of it.

If anybody could pray to God that this situation gets rectified quickly, then that would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I am so sorry to hear this!!

Praying that God will restore your utilities soon, and make provision for what you need in the meantime.

Please keep us posted when you can. 😢

One of the downed power lines is directly across the street from me, and my neighbor's tree is laying on it, so it's probably going to be some time before my power is restored.

I did take a drive earlier, and I was able to find some water to drink and take a creative shower with. I was hoping to find some prepared meals at any store, but they were all gone and so were all salads. I did pick up some fruit, some bread, and some other things to eat, so I guess I am alright.

I said one tree missed my car by two feet, but it was actually by a foot or less. I normally pull up further in my driveway, so I was very fortunate there. Others weren't so fortunate because I saw trees that had fallen on houses and cars on my ride.

Another storm is supposed to hit in about two hours. I hope not.

Thank you for your prayers.

Keep at least 50 feet from those downed power lines.

I know that it's a little late now for you, but everyone should pay attention to this problem. Please, before it happens to you, make sure you have a couple of cases of bottled water and a supply of instant foods.

You are in our prayers.

It looks like the expected thunderstorm missed me. Thank God for that.

The electric company is anticipating that I won't have power until Wednesday. I am sitting in my car now in my driveway because my car battery is my only available source to charge my cellphone, and my car is also one of the few places where I can sporatically get a signal. I notice that someone cut the top off the tree laying on the power lines across the street from me, but the trunk of the tree is still on top of them. A little progress is better than no progress, I guess.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't read too many of your posts, but you seem like a really good guy. God bless you.

Thanks for the comment.

Do you have a way to keep your refrigerator and freezer running? Our longest power outage lasted 22 days. Our Electric company lost over 99% of its distribution network to a hurricane. During the first five days as rads were cleared, some people took their generators from house to house to help keep these appliances keep cold. After the fifth day, thanks to FEMA, we got a generator to share between three houses. The lesson that we learned was, no matter where you live, be prepared for the worst.

My prayer is that God will keep you safe as you go into your community and assist in a rapid and safe recovery.

No, but my power should be back by sometime on Wednesday. At least, that's what I'm hearing. My neighbor's tree is still lying on top of the downed power lines across the street from me, so it won't be happening anytime soon.

Thank you. I am presently at the local library where I can at least charge my cellphone and use my laptop to read and answer my emails. They have set up a shelter at one of the local schools, but I would only go there if I could take a shower, and they aren't offering that option. For now, I'm bathing with bottled water and a lot of creativity and flexibility.

Praise God! I'm so happy to hear your power and water have been restored. I've been following your updates and praying for you. I pray the power stays on, the remaining tree is removed safely and that life gets back to normal for you soon. God is faithful.

Thank you so much. That means a lot to me.

There is still a tree lying on downed power lines about 15 feet from my driveway, but somehow my power and water just got restored. I hope it lasts.

Thank God and anybody who prayed.

I can see myself in the mirror again!

I need a shave.

I'm glad you are back to using the electric again. We've been praying for you and the states that were hit. One of those on my podcast was in your situation 3 days. He saw trees down across the road and in different directions like a tornado hit.
Have you heard reports of tornados or shear winds from the gulf stream?

Thank you very much for your prayers. No reports of a tornado, just very strong winds from a thunderstorm that only lasted about 10 or 15 minutes. My internet connection finally came back last night.
