Lotsa talk of peas. Did you know that in Old English, "peas" was the singular, while "peasen" was plural? The word "oxen" still works this way. I don't understand all the anti peas sentiment here though. Pass the peasen, please!

I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on the knife.

Words are funny...

"Peas" to "peasen."

"Ox" to "oxen."

I suddenly find myself thinking... "more" to "moron"...

You'll have to forgive me. It's 11 in the morning and I've already been up almost 12 hours and put my time in at work.

And Catherder, that was not in anyway an aimed at you. You, of course, would be, "Genes" to "genious." :p

I'm full of haricot vert (green beans) with slivered almonds. Anyone can be full of plain ole beans. :p

And Catherder, my father quotes that same peas poem. To the extent that I actually tried them with honey. It wasn't bad, but not something I would do all the time.

Carribbean immigrant parents, grew up around a lot of puerto ricans and cubans, and dated a rican...i know just enough to identify food, and all of the more *colorful* phrases

I've had a Panamanian version if this with sliced chicken gizzards. It was delicious!
 
I was going to say something positive about peas, rice, olives, and chicken gizzards.... but Cinder kinda made all the words fall out of my brain.
 
Yeah I guess you can say I'm a picky eater, but not to extreme. But if I don't like something, or the way it was made, I won't eat it. I am picky about food freshness and preparation. And I love to eat with chopsticks. I have a whole section in my silverware draw for chopsticks next to forks and spoons.
 
I think I eat anything (within the range of normal food for my part of the world). Haven't tried insects yet, not sure whether or not I would try if offered.

I wouldn't want to try those fast food meals you have over there with extra fat though, yuck!
 
There's a dish, quite the morbid one, that I just cant eat, they call it 'Smalahove'...well...it means 'sheep head'...and it is just as morbid as it sounds...lol

I never tried it, but it is a good dish really, as it uses parts of the animal that would otherwise be thrown away
along with lungemos / haggis (which tastes little or nothing :p )
