Sharp,
No woman wants a momma's boy. It might appear that way if a man is still living with his parents. Or that he cant make it without his mom or dad. Not good signs.

p.s. better to be a social feminist than a lesbian.

But why don't women see living with one's parents as demonstrating fiscal responsibility and a desire not to live alone, instead enjoying the company of others?!

Sharp,
You could also enjoy the company of others while living with your friends. I understand the fiscal responsibility part, but how long do you plan on living with your parents?? Do you think when your 35 and still living at home it's going to be about fiscal responsibility and enjoying the company of others? Maybe your afraid to move out, and your just making excuses.

If someone could assure me that buying a house would guarantee me a wife, I would do it, because then I would have a wife in a house, as opposed to a house with no wife in it.

In decades gone by it used to be the case that a couple moved out of their respective houses into their new house when they were married. These days, I am finding, women see home ownership as evidence of a man's independence and a prerequisite to a relationship.

I don't like women here. They're all socialist feminists.

Aww Sharp, we aren't all that bad :)

I do hear you on this though, plenty of gals out there who want their men to be independant, wealthy and ready to go...none of this stuff of building up your life together like the oldies did it.

Kind of depends on circumstances, doesn't it? My wife left me, and my world collapsed, financially, emotionally, and mentally. I ended up moving in with my mother to make ends meet....and once I got back into church, started rededicating my life to God, then it became obvious that most of the friends I had were really unsuitable to be around period, much less share a home with for any length of time if I was going to set my walk with God straight. So saying that a man who lives with his parents is immature, insecure, or any other title you want to tack on it is generalizing.....and any woman who can't find out enough about me to know why I am where I am, or where I was is missing out on me as a person to her own detriment.

Wow, I would have thought that having a Man after God's heart is the most important thing to a Christian Woman , but most of you are worried about money and independence..... Don't you know that the walk of a Christian is based on the dependence of our Lord Jesus Christ and that if we seek First the Kingdom of God everything else shall follow!!!!! Wake- Up Women of God!!!!!!!

Women go for confidence and money in a man, and men go for looks in a woman. That is the way of the world. Sincere Christians may be able to hook up apart from these particular requirements, but I would assume they can only do so if they have truly died to this world.

So, do guys freak out if a girl is still living with her parents? Or is this just something that women seem to have an issue with?

Personally, I believe there are many cases where living at home with one's parents is not a bad thing. If it is socially acceptable (such as pointed out by penguingal who says men live with their parents for a while), if one is paying rent to one's parents, if one is going to college and decided to stay home instead of moving into a dorm, if one has found oneself landed in hard times and can no longer afford to live on one's own... there are probably other reasons that would be acceptable for one to still live at home, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Yes, there are people who need to just grow up and move out, but that does not mean it is the case for everyone still living at home with their parents.

I'd be very reluctant to start a relationship with a girl who doesn't live with her parents. I see no reason for someone to move out of their parents' home unless they get married.

Why would an unmarried girl move out of her parents' home, besides going to university? To move in with her friends and do drugs? To have casual sex freely? Because she just doesn't get along with her parents? I just can't think of a good reason.

Excellent thoughts! This used to be common thinking, but now it's so far from the norm.

My sentiments exactly, kudos!

It's money and looks that cause parents to end up rotting away in nursing homes instead of being in a loving home with their children.

Really? So guys in general would like to marry a girl that still lives at home with her parents, yet girls seem to think a guy must be moved out from his parents' home in order to be eligible for marriage? Funny the way that works.

Maybe this is my teenage ways of thinking or just plain stupidity but I know I want to marry someone for love. Not power or money. Yeah its important but I mean really? As long as we are both happy and are together I mean what does it matter? Of course it would make life a lot easier but isn't the point of love to be with that person no matter what they have? idk just my thoughts....

money, looks, hair with lots of gel in it, white teeth that glow in the dark, you know all the important stuff
I'M begining to think you have a huge frustration, even though knowing that christian girls are looking for what you said.

Girls who don't like people living at home with their parents - I wouldn't care either way. I think people who live at home with their parents are generally nicer, more well rounded and if they can live with their mother they can probably put up with a wife.
