Hi, I joined this website because I'm having a lot of trouble trying to bond with the people in my youth group.
When I was in 7th grade, I switched school districts and it seemed then like everyone had their friends already and had their little groups they were comfortable in and didn't want anyone else to impede. This feels the exact same way. My youth leader isn't very strong in including those who may be on the shy side but open up eventually.. It just feels so lonely and I'm discouraged to even go to youth group anymore. It's not like they'd miss me anyway.

Please.. looking for a friend to talk about God with and just talk with..

God will give you courage & strengh. There are many loving people here that can relate to you. Never give up hope or feel that you are alone. You have many brothers and sisters here to talk with. God loves you. Shyness is something that many people experience. To be social is a learned trait just like many other traits. Don't forget that the Lord loves you for you, no matter what. Many people in history that were shy, were some of the most creative, smartest people out there. You can Google that to find those who made history by making a difference in this world, and they were shy (or introverted). It took me years to come out of my shell, yet some days I just feel like vegging and staying home with just my doggie and me, & that's ok too. It's what makes you happy. Glad you are sharing. God bless.

Blogs are not usually great ways to get responses. Most blogs on this site get little to no response.
Secondly, if you really want to find a good friend putting an 'ad' out is t the best way to find one. It's about getting involved where you see things going on already. Generally people who respond to posts like this respond to all posts like this and don't have many deep, close friendships but have a lot going on with a lot of people.
On this site, from my adult perspective, it's difficult to make friends here as a teen. The teen forums are not too active. And in the chat rooms the conversations, and people, seem to be more shallow and disinterested in doing more than claiming the title of Christian.
So the best thing I'd suggest is watch the forums (not just the teen area) and any teens who comment that you like what they have to say, respond to their posts often. Form a rapport with them and let a friendship build, as opposed to waiting for one to form because you say you need one.

So you know I am more on the shy side myself. Even as a teen, in youth group, I was a leader under the youth pastor and still shy.
You sound introverted, which isn't a bad thing at all. Introverts need socialization, and are fully capable of talking and social interaction. But it is more draining for them and they need to be alone to recharge. Forming friendships with extroverts can be a bit difficult because their social interactions tend to be more shallow and frequently hop subjects and more loud and outgoing. Introverts are quieter and more in depth in their conversations. But it's hard to meet and connect with them as they are not outgoing.
This is where the online medium helps. Many introverts like coming online and it's easier to befriend them as well. Just takes time and patience.
