In relation to the new testament, why would Jesus believe this did not apply?

I'm guessing your answers are no, no and no to the last questions. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like you've not been born again and Jesus isn't your Savior or Lord.

in which case, as i alluded to earlier, i would not expect that you are able to understand scripture.

If I have understanding, a Christian is a label for someone who believes that Jesus Christ is God.
There is more to it than that. It is much more than a label, for starters. Do you agree with God that you are a sinner unworthy of His mercy, love, and grace? Do you recognize the state of your sinful self before a perfect, just, and holy God?

I found this in Corinthians. Which beings do you believe God to be in?

1 Corinthians 3:16 "Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"

who is Paul writing to?

does Paul divide humanity into some kind of groupings, and is he talking to one group and not to another?

*hint*

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
(Romans 8:9)

Deuteronomy 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Is this to say that no man will experience death unless it is to pay for his own sin?
All sins have been atoned for through the propitiatory sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon the cross of Golgotha due to His great and everlasting love for us. Are you covered by His righteous blood? If not, your name shall be blotted out of the Lamb's book of life, and following the resurrection and judgement of all, if you are not covered by grace through faith in His propitiatory sacrifice, you shall pass into the second death. What prevents men from believing this? Pride. Man's pride is his greatest folly from the time of Adam until now.

James 1:13
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
Right. God did not tempt Jesus, Satan did (Jesus in His humanity) :)

Heb. 4:15, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin."

Hebrews 5-8-9
King James version(KJV)

8.)Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9.)And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

is it possible to understand scripture if you don't get the question of who Jesus of Nazereth is right?

this lesson is:

The horse is prepared for the day of battle,
But victory belongs to the LORD.

(Proverbs 21:31)

What evidence would you provide which says your own understanding is more complete? Only God and an eye witness to all things can know yet many base their salvation on the partial testimony of bystanders.

Are you saying Jesus is not God in the flesh?

While sinning we are out of His light which means we walk in darkness. Consider, we call actors actors although they don't act twenty four hours a day. We call writers writers although they don't write twenty four hours a day. Why call sinners sinners unless they are sinning twenty four hours a day? When you believe you are forgiven through grace, believing you wake up a sinner conflicts with your beliefs in my opinion.

I'm suggesting every man who witnesses another man in the flesh witnesses God wearing the clothing of men (flesh). Jesus is the man in need, your neighbor, or your brother, friend, or companion. Jesus may be underneath the will of desire and the truth becomes evident when words are spoken. When all desire is subdued (satan get behind me), who is left to talk to us but God? Was this not Jesus?

I agree. Further proof that God may have been with him as God is with us all but he was not God in entirety. If he had been God, how could others walk upon the earth with him? Who was creating the scenery and manifesting each day?

As I expected.

How do you interpret John 1:1-14 without creating two gods if one is a lesser god?

So, you do not believe Jesus is fully God? God the Son? Guess the Trinity is alien to you as well? If so, maybe you should start doubting your undoubting....Thomas.

I believe the there is one God who has no partners. Names we've given to that which we cannot see besides God become false gods having only the power that we give them through the faith we put in them instead of God. When asked to call upon our gods by Him, we will know they have no power to save us. So when God asks us why we follow unjust man made laws, who will we call to protect us? The state? When those who write the laws are asked, who will they call on? Is this not what revelation warns us of?

I am familiar with the gospels both the cannon and parts that did not make it into the cannon. The gospel is a man made doctrine assembled for a purpose. Whether news is good or not is relative to the person as there are many perspectives from which to see it. I consider myself a man of faith. I was raised Catholic but left the church in my teens. I have a variety of perspectives to draw from and although I tend to speak plainly, there is only love in my tone. I would ask, would you define the term Christian according to your own understanding? If I have understanding, a Christian is a label for someone who believes that Jesus Christ is God.

Hi Thomas,

Yes, we have God who is one in essence, but 3 persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It's a mystery to understand with our finite mind how 3 = 1. But that's where faith comes in.

So are you saying there's not one particular religion or belief that would put you in some type of category? What is truth and where are you finding your truth from?

I'm curious why you said you were Christian beginning in September last year and that you're going to be saved very soon. Are you not saved now?

How about if you explain what's happened in your life. You said you began as a Catholic; then what happened?

I agree. Further proof that God may have been with him as God is with us all but he was not God in entirety. If he had been God, how could others walk upon the earth with him? Who was creating the scenery and manifesting each day?

What makes you think God is not able?

& does all of creation need to be recreated every day? Does the universe momentarily cease to exist when you blink haha?

But the scripture says it, that YHWH will pitch His tent with men, and then John 1 says He did.

In fact, scripture says that it is by and for Christ that all things were created, and that all things are held together by Jesus Christ. So if you admit that these are things that the One True Eternal God does, you have just agreed that Christ is He.

Sometimes expectations are what stops us from moving beyond our issues. We should move beyond these things and get to the root of the issue in my opinion.
