Hello Ted,

We know that with Our heavenly Father, all things are possible. '8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.' this verse I have never applied it to creation but in his ability to hear every person's prayer.

After all, isn't he the God that even numbers the hair on our heads?

"But any children are not mentioned when they were put out of the garden."

Yes, this is another dispute between theologians. God said to Eve to be fruitful and multiply. I personally have a hard time believing that she only gave birth to a total of seven children. And like you said, it does not mention her having children in the Garden of Eden. However, it does say that after Cain killed Abel. Cains wife gave birth to a son. The Bible does not mention the Wife of Cain or Seth being born or when that took place

the Bible says, ", And Adam knew Eve, his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD." As if Eve had never given birth before. Now, I have heard theologians argue that this is because, in the garden, Eve was unknowing more like a bird or a lamb. For they do not consider the comings and goings, either, the rights and wrongs. It is made straight by the Lord and thus it stays that way.

"Personally, I believe that the time spent in the garden was fairly short lived. this based on Satan's desire to seduce Adam and Eve would likely have started shortly after they were created."

Now, this is sound reasoning. I agree with you. The prideful Lucifer would have hated being cast down and stuck on a tree. He must have been trying his hardest to entice Eve to eat that apple.

God bless,

Daisy

I figure this second world age to be a little over 14,000 yrs old. A year with the Lord is as a thousand yrs. That would be 8,000 for the Genesis creation which includes a day of rest followed by the creation of Adam in chapter two. From Adam to Christ was 4,000 yrs and from Christ to now is 2,024 yrs. That's about 14.024 yrs. There was a first world age when the dinosaurs roamed that was millions of yrs old that perished. II Peter 5-6, Jeremiah 4:22-27 God brought this second world age back to life in Genesis.

In my studies I have found the world is about 6000 years old. Anyone else studied time from Adam?????
my opinion is i dont know. but if i had to give a number id say the 6000. because if you add up all the genealogies in the bible from adam to Jesus and then to today, you get around 5700 years or something like that? around 6000 if i recall correctly.

When we look at the Genesis account of creation, we're told in Genesis 1:1 that "the earth was without form, and void." This was before the creative days. So the earth may very well be billions of years old, mankind according to Bible chronology is only about 6,000.

When we look at the Genesis account of creation, we're told in Genesis 1:1 that "the earth was without form, and void."
How about looking at verse 1 and giving it some serious thought? In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth... Keeping in mind that there was nothing before the creation of the earth (Hebrews 11:3),

God started from "scratch". So He made a roughly global mass and covered it with water, since water and oceans would be essential for earth and its inhabitants. That ROUGHLY global mass was "without form". IOW it did not have the precise spherical shape of the globe.

And naturally there was no life on the planet at that time, since life forms were created on days three (vegetation and fruit trees), five (birds and marine creatures), and six (land animals and mankind). This is the meaning of "void" -- devoid of all life forms.

So you need to give careful thought to Hebrew 11:3: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. The NASB puts it this way: so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. In other words, there was nothing in existence at that time. This is called creation "ex nihilo" (out of nothing). How do we know this? Because God spoke everything into existence. So the theory about billions of years is just nonsense.

That has nothing to do with the Gap theory.
But this does. Definitely.

God here is DESCRIBING and EXPOUNDING in greater detail the Genesis 1:2 situation.
The terminology in precise and intentional.
All told, I am quite convinced that the gap theory is gap fact.

Jer 4:23
I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

Jer 4:24
I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

Jer 4:25
I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

Jer 4:26
I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

This matter gets quite technical and very VERY tricky.

Archbishop Ussher: Flood of Noah ended 2348 BC......preposterous and incorrect.
Abraham born 2322 BC......spot on and precisely correct using (almost) any Bible.

But based on the Vorlage-LXX chronology, the Flood in occurred 3537 BC, the Babel incident in 3302 BC, the Peleg continental division in 3006 BC.

Frankly, God only knows how old the earth and creation is before Adam.
Furthermore, in terms of invariably accurate dating, all we REALLY know is the date of the birth of Abraham....about 2322 BC.
Why? Because there MAY be "gaps" in the Genesis genealogies. These gaps are EVERYWHERE including the genealogies of Jesus in the Gospels.

Good info here.....if you have an appetite for tough study material.

Note that the Vorlage/LXX adds something like 1700+ years to the Genesis genealogies/chronologies back to creation.
And there is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that the LXX is (actually was) the master text, and was the primary text quoted in the NT.
The Masoretic was tampered with by Rabbi Akiva about 100AD, and has errors.

And just for further verification please note that the context is......JUDGEMENT.
God has inserted the Genesis 1:2 judgement into these passages. Purposefully. Intentionally. Obviously.

Joshua's Ancestors:

1 Chron 7:20, 23-27 (Ephraim was Joseph’s son)

20 The descendants of Ephraim: …
23 Then he lay with his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his family. 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon as well as Uzzen Sheerah.
25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son,
Telah his son, Tahan his son,
26 Ladan his son, Ammihud his son,

So far, so good. Eleven generations over 400+ years.

Moses' Ancestors:

Ex 6:16-20

16 These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
17 The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei.
18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
19 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi.
These were the clans of Levi according to their records.
20 Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.

The wording does not give itself to be in heaven. Lucifer specifically states that he wants to ascend to heaven and exalt his throne above the stars of God. He wants to be like God. Wherever Lucifer was, he had to go up, "ascend" into heaven. Wherever Lucifer was, he had a throne, but it wasn't good enough to match his pride.
So pre-Amamic earthy Eden? Sounds perfectly plausible. This former Eden destroyed in judgement (tohu/bohu)....after Satan's fall.

In fact the Jerimiah passages are EXTREMELY compelling in resolving this matter.

Gen 1:2
And the earth was without form, H8414 and void H922 ; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Jer 4:23
I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, H8414 and void H922 ; and the heavens, and they had no light.

BTW.....there is good reason to believe that Adam was created as a HIGHER order than any of the angels, including the envious Satan.
What is inferred here is that ONLY Adam was created thus.....not any of the Angels.

Gen 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1Co 6:3
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

I believe that the world that we know was spoken into existence by God 6000 years ago. Before that, the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. This is according to Genesis 1. This is what I believe.

Gaps buddy. GAPS!
There are FAR more generations during the sojourn than four. Which I have already posted for Joshua.

If 4 generations = 430 years, then how many years do the Genesis genealogies represent?
Do the math......it can easily be 10's of thousands of years, given the life spans.

We have NO IDEA of whether there are gaps, or how many, consequently the exactly the date of the re-creation of the earth.

And another thing: there is MASSIVE amounts of evidence (of all kinds) indicating a GIGANTIC catastrophe at about 9,500 BC.
Huge massive ridiculous catastrophe including a huge electromagnetic/plasma excursion event. Which I think was the Babel judgement. See the "squatter man" petroglyphs. Also there were huge meteor strikes at this time.

This is also about the time that Atlantis was destroyed.....

Yup. The context is judgement, and these verses CLEARLY demonstrate this and link directly to Genesis 1:2, further explaining that situation......obviously this is intentional.

No, it really doesn't bother me anyway, and I don't care how old the human race is. There are much more important matters to care about like people's lost souls.

But not of a pre-Adamite earth, which is rhe bone of contention. Lucifer was the highest ranking angel in Heaven, but after he was cast out and cast down he became "the Adversary".
"By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. It is also called "the holy mountain of God"

Evidently a prophecy of future judgement.

Satan is definitively "cast out" of heaven at a point in time within 7 year tribulation.

Rev 12:7
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Rev 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Rev 12:12
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

There is race created on six day, they are hunters. Genesis chapter 1. When Cain went to land of nob, he took Oriental for wife. He took race from six day as wife. In book of Job, he speaks of the Behemoth. These are dinosaurs. Clearly, earth is millions of years old. One palentalogist dated a dinosaur back to 700 million years.

Hmm....discussing the age of this world? Or spreading the gospel to lost souls?

There's time for both! :)
