No I just seen it in the Bible several times
I was curious and did a search.
The word >"
Incense "< is mentioned 121 times.
In the OT it had specific uses according to specific instructions like who exactly was to offer/ burn it.
Here is an example:
he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
17And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD,
that were valiant men:
18And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God. 19Then Uzziah was wroth, and
had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
20And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he
was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
21And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house,
being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD:
When an Aikido teacher started his class at my school, he brought in a picture of his master and bowed to the floor to it while burning incense to his shrine. I opposed that and we went our separate ways. I didn't want to be affiliated with an idolator, one who worships an idol.
This is how Americans get introduced into practicing ancestor worship and idolatry. That goes on in Catholic churches I was raised in. There were candles, incense, and prayers to the dead.
That year of reading the Bible, I kept noticing the many references to God's judgement of His people who were taking up practices of the heathens.
God hated them and brought judgement on them. The few kings who tore down the shrines, the groves and high places of sacrifice were honored and blessed.
It sounds like perhaps you want to honor the Lord with incense.
I admit that I have some very old incense that is still in a closet. I am hoping that it acts as a bug repellent in case a pantry moth wanders in. When I work in the backyard, sometimes mosquitos come around. I plan to burn the incense to repel them while outside during the wet warm Spring season.
One thing I will never do is burn it under a picture or memorial to the Lord I don't think it pleases Him unless done at the exact old testament time and manner that He specified. Jesus fulfilled every offering of that period when He paid for all of our sins by the atoning sacrifice of Himself.
Hebrews 9
I consider things like the burning of incense to be a carnal ordinance.
It is in the clause of verse 10.
Try to remember that the Carnal Ordinances are done away with in Christ one time offering.
7But into the second
went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and
for the errors of the people:
8The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9Which
was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption
for us.
Hebrews chapter 10
10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:...Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Vs 18
