Better chance of selling the idea to Alaska. Easier to implement as well. Better climate as Texas is just too hot and too arid. Alaska could annex Canada if they want more room and an east coast.

I do not believe Texas has ever actually seceded........Tejas was part of Mexico, then they fought for their Independence, Remember the Alamo! After their victory, they established the Republic of Texas. The United States of America came calling to kinda 'bully" them into joining them.

In a moment of COMPLETE IDIOCRACY, they agreed. For some years, within the States Constitution was language giving Texas the right to secede should they choose to do so. The US Congress eventually forced them to delete said language from their State Constitution. Again, for whatever reason, they agreed............sigh.....

And, I assure you, these decisions have been regretted ever since.

Now, IF I remember my Texas State History correctly, this is how we came to rue the day we gave up our Independence.

I was thinking the "secede" language was still in our constitution, but you are probably correct.

Ruth, I have a couple of friends that live in Calgary.... I've heard about the winters up there.

I don't think this ol' Texas boy could smile at 27 below.... :D

I live in Southwestern Ontario so we get far less snow than the province of Alberta and the same weather that Ohio and Michigan get....we receive....rather mild winters....but never as warm as Texas......

Anyone want to befriend me.....please do...i enjoy chatting with all!

I come to this web site to sharpen up my skills of bringing the Gospel to non believers like the Catholics, Mormons, and my latest group the JW's.

In fact the JW's run away when they see coming. I always refute their Theology. But its not that hard seeing most JW's really do not know how to debate the Scriptures.

I think it would be REVOLUTION. Here in the States, we don't refer to the events of 1776 as the American Secession.

And, Tejas was revolting from Mexico.......not the US............ :)
