Is baptism Essential for salvation?

It is to "whoever". I have read what you believe. I understand it was not clearly stated. But thank you. Just wanted someone to put it up so we can move past the fact that it is in the Bible. I got carried away with the passion of the subject.

Acts 10 makes it clear that Peter is aware and submissive to Gentiles being included too.

I personally don't see why there is any confusion about baptism being Essential for salvation.
Jesus explained salvation or the "born again" experience in John 3:5 "born of water and Spirit"
Peter in Acts 2--"----be baptized(dipped, covered with water) for the REMMISSION of sins--"

Another example is in Acts 10:47:48 Cornelius and his household had received the Holy Ghost, Peter commanded them to be BAPTIZED. If you recall Peter had the keys to the Kingdom of God and he preached the same message in Acts 2 as he gave Cornelius. Study Acts 10 and Acts 11. Acts 11 is an overview of what happened in Acts 10.P gave
All the step of salvation are the same for everyone, no one is saved differently. Even though Cornelius was a Gentile the steps for salvation were the same.
In Acts Cornelius sent for Peter after an Angel told Cornelius to do so.
In Acts 11:14 Peter told Cornelius "words, whereby thou(Cornelius) and all thy house shall be saved." In Acts 10 they were baptized. It doesn't say Cornelius was baptized " for the remission of his sins" but why should it, when the same example is found in Acts 2?I n Acts 11:14 Peter told Cornelius "words, whereby thou(Cornelius) and all thy house shall be saved."

In Romans 6 being baptized into Christ,we are baptized into his death,. When we are baptized with him we are raised to walk in NEWNESS of life. Our old man is dead. WE can let the scriptures speak for themselves--you can twist the scriptures to fit your purpose--but the scripture still say the same thing. Water baptism doth now save us.

It is just so difficult to understand how anyone of you think that the New Testament speaks what is not in the Old Testament, as you know that the only scripture those whom you read about in the New Testament had were the Old Testament writings.

They did not ever say, Water baptism doth now save us, at all, and you cannot find any such verse in the NT.

Their words and the idea of "dipping", which is their total thought in using the word baptism, was born here, and you have no excuse to not know it:

Exodus 12:22 "And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning."

The thought of that dipping or baptism at 1 Peter 3:21 is the dipping in the blood of Jesus.

They did not go around inventing new beliefs. They obeyed what was written of the OT.

To them, baptism clearly equaled what it does here: Revelation 7:14 "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

was man on the cross next to Jesus baptisted. Did Johns baptism lead to salvation. Baptism like marriage is a declaration to the world. It is a cleansing declaring repentance. True repentance is only possible through the holy spirit in us, otherwise we would be saving ourselves. Jesus did everything on the cross, saying he didn't is another faith, not one that i know. You can quote scriptures all day long but i suggest you read the whole book.

Was Moses baptized? Was David Baptized? Was Abraham baptized? NO. So by your logic, they have no "remission of sins" and are lost, correct?

Moses and David and Abraham was under the old covenant. The old testament. Their testament ways of remission of sins, which wasn't really a remission cause it never really cleaned their sins away just rolled it forward was that of the shedding of animals blood.
When JESUS became the perfect sacrifice for our sins we no longer needed the animals blood. There was a new testament, because a testator had died.

Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.


Heb_9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb_9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.



Mat_26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

So now with the new covenant in place there are new rules. Repentance, baptism and infilling of the HOLY SPIRIT that saves.
