The real interesting thing, is that Jesus is the focus of our salvation. Instead, folks are making it all about what they personally believe and adding to salvation, which, as I understand it, is somewhat like a slap in the face to God who has provided our salvation in the first place through His sinless Son.

It becomes obvious that no amount of scripture is proving anything to people who are embedded in their doctrines, whether scriptural or not; and we do have both sides represented here to be sure. One side presents a solid and scriptural view and the other insists works play a part and want, very badly it seems, to add what they have done to what Jesus has done.

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” Acts 16:30,31

“if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Rom 10:9

“Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.” Rom 4:4,5

See how easy it is to be saved? You must believe in Jesus, accept Him as your Savior, the One God has had sacrificed in your place.

Then, you make that confession of faith and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead.

There is no work or amount of works that a person receives credit for as a contribution to their salvation. All is of Christ and we may only approach God through the finished work of His Son.

Notice, that when someone works, they have earned a salary or wages as the Bible refers to it. However, God is the One who justifies all sinners who come to Him through His Son and this faith, this faith in Christ taking our place, is credited to us and asserted by God Himself as our righteousness.

True baptism is a public act illustrating that we have accepted Christ and we now are alive in Him. Only the blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. Water is symbolic and not the actual method of cleansing from sin. It works pretty good on dirt but is useless with a spiritual problem. Sin, is a spiritual problem which is why God Himself provided a way out of that problem.

Some Christians fall under the "need for baptism" to be saved from the Lake of fire, while others see being baptized as an outward showing or work of their faith. Submitting to what God's Word reveals to us can be difficult, especially when one has been taught one or the other their whole life. Submission always fights the natural condition of the heart. Many early church leaders embraced "Baptismal Regeneration" and have been cherished by other denominations over the years.

Scenario one:
Jeff was in his mid-forties and had been visiting a local church. He had developed a close friendship with the pastor. Jeff was not saved but was very curious about Jesus and had many questions concerning our Lord's saving power. One day the pastor visited Jeff like he had done several times before and talked to him about Jesus. That day Jeff broke down and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Jeff acknowledged who Jesus was and what He did for all of us. He was so happy that he wanted to be baptized immediately! The pastor was just as happy for Jeff as he seen the burden of sin being lifted off Jeff's shoulders. The pastor offered to give Jeff a ride to the church to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. While on their way to the church they were in an accident that killed Jeff instantly.
Was Jeff saved?

Romans 10:9 "If thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." According to this passage, Jeff was saved. Jeff had confessed with his mouth of Jesus Christ. Now only God can know our true heart, but the pastor seemed to be convinced Jeff truly believed. There is no mention of baptism in this verse, nor in the previous verses, or in the passages that follow. But there is a focus on, "with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

A woman named Kathy is laying in the hospital and is dying of a rare disease. She is too ill to leave the hospital or even get up out of her bed. While laying in bed one night, she prays and asked Jesus to come into her heart. Kathy acknowledged she was a sinner and in need of a Savior. She confesses her sins and believes in her heart that Jesus is her Lord and Savior. Kathy dies shortly after this one night in her sleep having not been baptized.
Was Kathy saved?

Kathy was dying of a rare disease and had she been able to walk or move around on her own, she most certainly would have been baptized, but the woman could not. The Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith and that is not of ourselves. Faith is a gift from God, made possible by the Grace of Jesus Christ. If not for this gift and His grace, then this woman would have died lost and upon Judgement been sent to the burning Lake of fire for all eternity, according to "Baptismal Regeneration" supporters because she simply wasn't strong enough to be immersed in water.

Can we answer the two questions posed at the end of the two stories in submission to biblical truth? Does our fallible heart get in the way of seeing this biblical truth? Make no mistake in identifying the true nature of baptism. It is very important in serving a purpose for the church and also for the individual who chooses to be baptized. When we are baptized, then we are following an example that Christ set and showing people who we stand for. The desire we have AFTER we accept Christ as our Savior comes from a heart that truly wants to be close to God. If it were simply a matter of being immersed in water that saves a person, then any unbeliever that wanted to deceive others could do it.

One more question: If baptism was such an important part of salvation, then why did Paul say, "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel."

Acts 2;38-....Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22;16... And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.


Galations 3:26...... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

KJV Marrk 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

KJV Matthew 3:14... But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15. Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfil all rightesousness. Then He suffered Him.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).

Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’



From these we learn:

1.John's baptism was with water in which repentant received forgiveness. Jesus submitted himself to this baptism to accomplish all righteousness. His baptism blesses and gives His benefits to out baptism.

2.Those who heard Jesus' words to make disciples "baptizing them" in the name of our Triune God clearly understood that meant connecting Jesus Words with water. The other passages where people were baptized included water.

3.The Holy Spirit uses means to connect the blessings Jesus won to the won receiving them. In Baptism it is Water.

Acts 2: 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

It's unfortunate that the debate over baptism centers around it either saves or doesn't save. Neither one of these reflects the true nature of baptism.

100% required for salvation as the scriptures clearly say.
1. Belief and faith
2. Confession of belief
3. Repentance
4. Baptism (immersion in water)

All the above are required for salvation when all pertinent scriptures are taken into consideration, as they should be, and not cherrypicked as many choose to do.

Your understanding of this is not correct which is also giving you a false understanding of the importance of baptism as relates to salvation.

Read a bit futher, read 1 Cor chapter 3:6-8. Then re-read 1 Cor 1 again to gain the correct understanding of the scripture you quoted and what was truly going on in Corinth.

1 Cor 3:6-8

6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

According to chronological timelines, Paul baptized the twelve Ephesus disciples in water in the name of the Lord Jesus approx. 20 years after it was stated as being required of all. As prophesied by Jesus in Luke 24:47, it was on the Day of Pentecost, that the people were told to repent, and everyone was instructed to be be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus in order for their personal sin to be remitted in association with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. (Acts 2:36-42) It is known that being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus is water baptism as confirmed by Peter in Acts 10:47-48.

Salvation by the completed work, the shedding of blood, the death of the Second Adam Jesus bro. Water dunking has nothing to do with the miraculous new birth.....which has ALREADY OCCURRED before the dunking.

The "order" is salvation/rebirth first.......following doctrinal rituals second.
Ananias' words speak volumes. He asked Paul why he was waiting to have his sins washed away, It is only after a person is obedient to God's command to be baptized in water in the name of Jesus that a person's sins are dwelt with in association with Jesus' sacrifice: "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." These words are a direct parallel to what Peter stated was necessary for everyone on the Day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:38)

.."Paul explains the doctrinal significance of what occurs when one is baptized.His explanation is found in his letter to those who had already been obedient to the command.

Paul tells the Roman Christians what actually occurred when they were/are baptized; they were baptized into His death. Being buried with Jesus into His death resulted in their sin being destroyed.

Even though Paul explains this concept, the NEW AGE RELIGION TEACHING is......... that water baptism is nothing other than a mere public display.......... And that is so far removed from the truth.

Keep in mind that Satan knows if he can continue to perpetuate that lie ...... he can keep people from entering the kingdom of God. Thus He has proven scripture which says ...in the end times there will be ...great delusions.....they are here.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).
You are 100% correct. The scriptures don't lie and speak for themselves. Baptism is required for salvation. Period.

The only thing that's absolutely required for salvation is faith in the Lord Jesus. Baptism is important but without faith in Him it's a pointless ritual. I'm quite certain if I died before I had a chance to get baptized I'd be with the Lord.
