I have no idea what you just said or asked. . . .
When Jesus walked the earth, before he was crucified and resurrected then yes. . . water baptism was the "way" to be cleansed. . . .NOW after Jesus ascension. . . there is baptism with holy spirit.

“In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses” (Colossians 2:11 -13).
what's Paul really saying here?

Ive never been sure of anything. I study the bible by faith.
I can tell you about alot of things im sure are NOT.
But on Baptism no i cant. Just worked it just like i worked the bible
about gifts and other issues.

okay...i just was clarifying that if you meant the apostles went about baptizing in water when they shouldn't have (?)
because it was tradition.
that seems like a pretty confusing thing to have recorded without it being specifically named as something they did which was transitional.
and needed to stop.

the type/ordinance then the real thing it signified, symbolized, an operation of God.
for Israel it was the cloud, for John it was water, for those in Christ it is what it always
was pointing toward. Our death and resurection with Christ, by the HolySpirit.

But after Jesus ascension, the Apostles still baptised people in water.
Why did they do this if Baptism in water was to last only until Jesus ascension?
Or do you believe Baptism in water should still happen but it does not cleanse?

babies can be dedicated to God by their parents, which is the parents vowing to raise the child in fear and admonition of the Lord... babies cannot be baptized for remission of sin nor confess they believe in salvation thru Jesus... they have not the developed intellect to speak for themselves... it is pointless and an error for others to believe it valid.

That text is something to ponder. Paul was rebuking their carnality with
the baptizing popularity game they had going and factions.
But i think it would have been less misleading if Paul hadnt said He wasnt
called to baptize, but preach the gospel. If water baptism was part of the gospel.

he is saying he's glad he didn't baptize more because they would have been all divided over who was the better disciple based on who baptized them - instead of remembering into Whom they were baptized (?).
seems like a ton of confusion over something they should have stopped....
we're either to be baptizing in water for a reason or we're not.

My brother was sort of a wishywashy christian.
He got water baptised and invited people who came
in from all over the country.
Since then hes been a hot type of believer
i have to wear a firesuit just to go over for a bbq
I think the outa the closet was very necessary for him
it is refreshing when you tell the world about your conversion and stop keeping it to yourself I see this happen alot

maybe
simple. it is the operation of God in which we are spiritually circucmised (or baptised) through the baptism of the spirit. which has made is clean.
it is not the operation of man at some river, pond or church baptismal.
