So I haven't been on here for a bit but my situation hasn't changed much , if anything it's gotten worse. My husband is still a bully, abusing me and his kids emotionally and mentally but not physically , however to me this is bad too. He knows if I don't like how he's acting and say anything, then he'll just leave and he knows I'd hate that because of our 4 kids, so he plays on that. I'm constantly hurt and sad and the kids miss how their dad use to be which was moving caring father, now he's totally changed. I pray all the time and 1 year and 8 months later things are still same if not worse. Is letting go like giving up? I'm just so tired of it all, I don't want to hurt the kids by letting go or giving up on their dad but honestly I feel like I'm being made a fool of and I and kids don't deserve this.

I'll pray for ya.. I'd say something encouraging but I can't relate so I really don't know what to say

No, letting go is not giving up, it is surrendering the situation into the hands of the One Who can help, and acknowledging that you are powerless over the other person's behavior, attitudes, and feelings. If you stop focusing on him and pay attention to what you can do to make your life better for your children and yourself while he is absent, it may help how you feel. Be happy without him as much as you can. Will it draw him back? Maybe. Making demands of him certainly won't. It seems he already resents his responsibility to you. Something has drawn him away. He is blaming you for his unhappiness and refusing to own his part and take responsibility for his life's choices.

I'll be praying for you sis...and keep on praying until God answers you.. sometimes we won't get an immediate answer but we know that God hears our prayers and He is working in whatever situation we are in...

God bless you and your family

If I were in your shoes, I'd be tempted to separate from him. The kids might be better off that way.

God can help you there too. He's got your individual answer. Do biblical word studies for:
-- Wives.
-- Husbands.
-- Marriage.
-- Divorce.

Really study these things in his word, and he will lead you to your answer.

God isn't being silent. He gave us his book long ago knowing it will give us answers if we search it with the heart to hear. Pray to hear each time you study what he says. He will lead you to the right answer -- his answer.

What was God's answer when you studied his word?

Is his work environment very stressful? That could cause the changes you described.

Did you move about the time the changes started? There could be an environmental problem like allergies to mold or chemicals outgassing from new construction, etc. It could also be a food allergy. Perhaps something he is consuming is causing his brain to react somehow.

Did he start new medication?

If he is in his 50's, he may be suffering from low testosterone levels.

I noticed a change like you describe in someone I knew. It turns out the person had a brain tumor. It was removed and now they are much better.

Don't assume that he has just gone bad. There may be some cause for the change.

You need to pray for God's wisdom in the matter.
