Is the Ten Commandments the Law according to the Bible?
I am just wondering if the word Law is used. I couldn't find it with a Google Search.
I know that there is a new covenant. But the word covenant, used of the Ten Commandments, would be different than the word Law or law used of the same if it occurs.
Matthew 22:
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
I would say that this covers everything that came before. Works and rituals are replaced by faith and love. Works flow forth as a result. They are the proof and evidence of true faith.
Ephesians 2:
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
