Is this belief sufficient for salvation?

in that case...you should be able to have some type of sight relating to the cross. Search out your own inner dialogue and line it up with scripture. That's all you can really do.

You may have hinted at this already but I would say you have to believe Jesus Christ is actually God who came to Earth to save us from ourselves . (our sinful nature).
God doesn't expect us to know everything about salvation when we come to Him. Remember, we were dead in trespasses and sins and were also His enemy. Yet, He draws ppl to Himself via the gospel. It is through the gospel that ppl are saved. As Paul so eloquently wrote 1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,[1 Cor. 15].
But if someone truly believes this from the heart, they ARE saved.
Could anyone explain what 1 Corinthians 15:3 means? I might have trouble retaining information, so this might not be right, but does it mean that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and shed His blood?
Sure! Unless any of us were firsthand witnesses of the Christ's crucifixion, how could we know of this? Without the scriptures recording the crucifixion, and subsequent resurrection, of the Christ, none of us would know of this taking place. We would have no way of knowing He died for our sins, and we would have no hope of being saved. This shows the importance of scripture. Without them, we know nothing about God and salvation.
And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.[Hebrews 9:22]
It took the blood of the Lamb of God to atone for our sins. Without His atoning sacrifice, we could not be saved. So yes, it does mean that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and shed His blood.

Does Jesus being the Son of God mean that Jesus is God the Son and Son of God the Father?
Your post is a little unclear to me. I'll give you a picture that I think best explains the Trinity.
Now, as you can see, the Father is not the Son or the Spirit.
The Son is not the Father or the Spirit.
The Spirit is not the Father or the Son.
There is only one God, but God is one Being, but are Three distinct Persons.
The Father commissioned Jesus(the Son of God) to come to earth, take upon Himself human flesh and die for sinners. The Father or Holy Spirit did not do this, only God the Son did. The Father and Son both sent the Holy Spirit(after His resurrection) to be their, and all believers, Comforter. The Father or Son did not do this, only the Holy Spirit does this.
So, they each have clearly defined roles, but they all Three are God. Not three Gods. Not 1/3 God each, but each fully God. Each are coequal and coeternal.
The Bible says that HE gave up the ghost or released HIMSELF from HIS body to GOD the FATHERs hand meaning No ,HIS SPIRIT which can not be seen physically and IS GOD did not die.
Apostle Paul disagrees with you mightily...

God the Father and God the Spirit did not die. However, in the flesh, God the Son did die. Notice, I said in the FLESH He died. His Spirit went to the Father, but He died in the flesh.
JESUS who loves righteousness she’d HIS blood satisfying the demand of the law which meant death to those who broke the law.
JESUS never broke the law HIMSELF but HE had mercy on those who did brake the law taking their place dieing on a cross for all that broke the law and making a new covenant where men would not have to be perfect In their own strength which was not possible but man can now be saved by believing.
JESUS provided grace through faith.
