That's a good point.
We need to plan on long term solutions.
Fortunately, the sewage and grey water lines carries it far away.

Plus I've gotten rid of most polyester and replaced with wool, bamboo rayon. Still working on it though.

Like in every place water runs downhill. My parents lived in the Houston area in the 60's but because of this and others they moved from there to the Big Thicket Texas area. In Texas as places like Dallas use their water and then flush it into the sewage system it is treated and filtered and put into the Trinity river and flows down to the Houston Area then diverted by canal treated and that is their drinking water supply. https://stateimpact.npr.org/texas/2...water-keeps-trinity-flowing-houston-drinking/

Indeed, Then from there they take river water and process it with chemicals to kill most of the pathogens. This is what most assume is potable water. Compared to some third world villages, it is far better, but we know that a home purification unit is best. That's why I used to be a missionary distributor for New Millennium Concepts. It was the best gravity fed table top purifier in the world. I still use mine after two decades of good service.

Bangaladeshis live practically underwater, and yes those in low lying areas, like Lousiana, or the Mississipi delta, basically swamp land.

I think some people don't quite understand geography, and some even assume the world is flat. It isn't. Water somehow gets magically piped into their homes and flushed out, they don't really bother to think how it got there and where it goes.

The midwives in Egypt were tasked with killing (and disposing of ) all the baby Hebrew boys. They were not doctors, they were midwives.
End of life care is always problematic. Dying people often don't get the choice of dying with dignity. And cancer still is painful, hence painkillers. Life is suffering for many.

I don't think it should surprise anybody, that hospitals deal with life and death on a daily basis, and that doctors have to make decisions about it. Whether they are right or wrong, God needs to be the judge on that one.

Plenty of doctors get sued for medical malpractice. Doctors aren't immune to human error. But they do study a lot about biology and the human anatomy, to be able to implement life saving treatments, so, its six of one and half a dozen of the other.

I was wrong. Before checking the video I was thinking corn syrup/High fructose corn syrup.

Maltodextrin: 😖
I recently learned about this while researching food do's and don'ts for diabetes.
It is even found in some of the cheaper brand stevia mixes! (Like at Aldi!)
It seems to hide in EVERYTHING: yogurts (some), sport drinks, energy bars, spice mixes, cereals, it goes on and on.
It has a glycemic index of 85-105! And spikes blood sugars FASTER than regular white table sugar.
It is sometimes contains traces of wheat, so those with issues like celiac disease should also avoid it.

From WebMD:
The FDA lists the product among the generally safe food additives.
🙄
ugh! So I haven't bought Velveeta in ages due to the outrageous rising price. I have been using Aldi's Clancy brand of 'Cheese Melt'.
Since I'm checking labels even more carefully now, I remembered to take a peek at it the other night before buying.
EW! Yes it does contain maltodextrin.
Okay I thought, I'll check Velveeta and accept a higher price.
NOPE! It also contains the evil 'M' word... as did the 2 other brands the grocery store carries.
*sigh* okay, what'd I expect for a product called 'processed cheese'?
It's frustrating and scary sometimes, you think you're eating healthier only to find you're not
Hmm... now to find a recipe for dyi melty cheese because the fam likes it over steamed veggies and cheddar just doesn't cut it.

I know you care a whole lot about your family, which is why you read ingredients.
You already know this and so I'll back you up.
Please continue to warn others to avoid hydrogenated oils altogether.
Plain butter, avocados, animal fats are far better options.

One of the most harmful substances is anything containing hydrogenated/ partially hydrogenated oils.
That includes processed cheeses aka American cheese, Crisco, oils used in snack cakes ie little Debbie, margerine and hundreds of processed foods.

Elimination of those and seed/vegetable oils help prevent a lot of diseases and obesity.

The salty taste and texture is what Velveeta have going for it. There's better ways to get that too without the Processed cheese stuff.

Funny you should say that, I was just thinking about that yesterday.
I have 3 absolute no-no ingredients that I refuse to willingly/knowingly allow to be purchased.
Sucralose, aspartame, maltodextrin.
Hydrogenated / partially hydrogenated is the next to go.
Not there yet, but getting there.

I about fell over one day when my kids brought some items home from their school lunches.
It meets the criteria for "healthy" as far as being whole grain and things like that.
BUT I'm sure I don't have to tell you what else it contains...
yeah, any combination of my 3 no-no ingredients.
I have 2 of my kiddos on board to work with me this summer to figure out foods to-go that they can help make for breakfast and lunch next year.

What a good Mom. 😊

On a funny and related note, this scene just came to mind.
I was reminded in the snack thread by some bags of potatoe chips.
The night before, my dinner was a sheet of dried seaweed and fresh salsa with avocado. Then I had popcorn with a spoonful of butter for an evening snack.

God gave me Denzel's Equalizer movie as a tremendous gift.
I'm talking about the actual movie at the theater and everything! 🥹
That TV series was my character growing up. Then our Father provided me with a real special treat that only He could do. Every scene has something significant that I can personally identify with and get encouragement from.
We all need something like that don't we?

I'll set up the context of the scene. Denzel works at a place like home Depot. There's a security guard position that opens that his friend Ralphie wants. He asks Mr McCall to be his Health Coach. It lunch time.

I gave the ❤️ before watching the clip based on what you shared...
then I watched the clip.
Now I must add the  because after all "I'm not a rabbit"
(You know, rabbits actually have a good thing going for them diet wise, all those leafy greens and select veggies they get to nosh on)
Ah, the wisdom of wabbits.

What Happened to this man who testified before Congress about the Covid Lethal Injections?
Was Covid 19 mRNA Injections to improve health and save lives, OR TO KILL OUR FAMILIES?

I’ve been following this discussion, and I feel I need to share my experience. For years, I’ve been misdiagnosed by doctors, which caused me a lot of suffering.
I’m currently based in Ukraine, and I’ve been wondering if this is just a local struggle, or if it’s a global issue. I have chronic pancreatitis, reflux, intestinal erosions, gastritis, and severe spinal issues (thoracic osteochondrosis and three displaced cervical discs). Dealing with all this for years without proper understanding from medical professionals has been overwhelming.
Has anyone else here had to deal with long-term medical errors or finding the right diagnosis after years of struggle, regardless of where they live? I’d appreciate any advice on how to keep fighting and find the right way to heal. God bless.

they will kill you with neglect. They know you need something, and if you don't have it, then later...
And watch out for your nurse too.
Can you give me an example or share a little bit more?

I think I know what you mean.
A friend was admitted to an ER and hospital stay. Once I got a call a couple days later, he described his symptoms. I said, that sounds like severe dehydration. If you called me, I would have suggested that he drink plenty of water with a small pinch of electrolytes that he was provided.
Then he told me that he was VERY thirsty from the time he got there, but they would not allow him to have any water because he was scheduled to have an abdominal scan in 22 hours! He felt like a prisoner.

I have seen hospitals treat patients worse than prisoners tying their arms to the sides of the bed, unable to change positions for weeks.

Yes, Hospitals are very bad places to visit. I can't stand being in one. And, sometimes they can let you go, but they don't because it runs the bill higher. You have to tell the doctor you want as soon as possible, and you don't care.

But, an example is, they knew my daddy needed stints, and they knew my mom needed stints, but they kept it a secret until it was too late. Then they came out and say they needed the stints, but it was to risky to do it. And, they let my daddy suffer almost he's entire life with pain, when the stints could have made it better for him.
