Muslims say Christians have the grave sin (Shirk) of making associations to God. I tell Muslims that I admit we associate Jesus to God as His word, but that is not an idolatrous association, because God's word is associated to Him as my word is associate to me and yours to you. I tell them they are projecting what they do, because in their shahadah they associate Muhammad to Allah (God) as his created slave messenger. IOW, they have to confess the name of Muhammad with Allah as an oracle of their faith to be Muslim. I ask them "How is that not an association?" they consider Muhammad the best of Allah's creations which is another form of idolatry. No human creation is better than another.

The more I learn about Islam and interact with Muslims, the less I understand it.

Is it my Western mind so concrete needful of organized propositions. Or is it just gnostic by design?

It is the same with Muslims although they'll never admit it.

I really do wonder if there is a good book comparing Islam to Gnosticism or various Christian heresies pre-Islam. Because there seem to be a lot of similarities.

It would make sense too. I mean Islam did spread mainly by the sword, but you need souls to wield said swords. Perhaps practitioners of more mystical heresies were easy converts along with the desert pagans attracted by the martial mentality.

I don't know. I need a book.

Islam was spread by the sword, and the irony is the Quran says "there is no compulsion in religion." Islam is the most bipolar religion in the world.

Yes, the similarities are because Muhammad had imperfectly borrowed from the Bible first to try and win the Jews and then the Christians; when that failed he resorted to terror, and that is what the Quran is really all about. Muhammad said "I've been made victorious with terror." There is no denying of course that there are some supernatural things about the Quran and islam, but they are few and demonic.

GOD said Isaac and so the Messiah came in to the world.

If we read what would become of Ishmael it is no surprise Islam was created to appease.

Islam was also created to usurp the truth

So you don't believe that we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth?
We cannot do anything against the truth that will not eventually be exposed and we should always be for truth.

Pray for those muslims you have spoken to. There is an evil spirit behind islam and any truth you try to tell them the demons will try to hold them into that deception.

I have prayed and fasted for them the names are Imam Waheed and Magister there were others as well but I cannot remember their name exactly. You can pray for them too. thanks

Why is the religion seen as the somewhat Godly entity (to 'that' religious follower). Religion is an 'organisation of truth' a collection of writings. People join a religion, and you cannot wholly blame the religion for the way the person is, but blame the way the person is directly.

Most people join religion either through needing a sense of belonging (group psychology), or because of cultural or family persuasion, sometimes forced (especially in Muslim countries).

Under the above circumstances, people will often follow like sheep in false teachings which may well be 'mainstream', especially in how to operate within your religion, which pretty much always includes the idolisation of the 'central character' of that religion. How else are they going to keep you, if you can think for yourself and therefore are free?

Was is Jesus that said "Idolise me"?

Why does a young girl become a Bieber fan? Is it because she has a belief in his goodness or wants to know him? No, it is often a sense of belonging, it is often the cultural norm of those around her own circumstances. But what does she do, does she idolise this person? Yes. Does she get to know or understand him as a real person? No.

And this is similar to many who follow religion. Idolisation is highly destructive and is most visible when people put a subject of religion on a pedestal. Religion often tries to bring about an idolisation of it's central character, because it hooks people to that religion, somewhat condemning all others, it is religious submission.

There are good people in Islam, there are bad people in Christianity. What I am saying in the previous sentence, is that often as a Christian, people think that there are bad people in Islam, and there are good people in Christianity.

How does religion have such a control over people to define whether they are good or bad? A bad person sees bad and yet chooses to continue regardless, a good person often makes the tough choice of change when they see bad, regardless of suffering (the harder option).

Either way, we have free will to follow like sheep, or to question everything. If you question nothing, well, does that only happen in Christianity? What does it do when people question nothing in Islam while idolising their central figure?

Not only that, but people most often idolise their 'book of texts'. In fact they idolise their physical book of texts most often more than they idolise the central figure. Often no-one dares question this and anything written in it, even if written in times when man was more carnal. I mean, that's just logical right? Well apparently not if you question it.

To sum it up, more than idolisation:

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Muslims will always tell you they don't idolize Muhammad, but they do and hypocritically blame Christians for idolizing Jesus. They call it an association of shirk. the irony is we Christians admit we associate Jesus to God as His word, but Muslims don't admit their obvious association of Muhammad with Allah in the second part of their shahadah which must be said to be Muslim.

Islam is about man trying to reach God, Christianity is about God reaching for man. Islam is religion based (Rules and laws) with Allah; Christianity is relationship based with God through Christ. it is not possible to idolize The Son of God. Muslims deny Jesus is the son of God and anyone who does this doesn't have life no matter how nice of people they are. A Christian who does evil may only be a nominal Christian; IOW, only in name and not saved. All Muslims are not saved, but they can be when they covert to Jesus as their Savior.

There are good people in Islam, there are bad people in Christianity. What I am saying in the previous sentence, is that often as a Christian, people think that there are bad people in Islam, and there are good people in Christianity.
I thought there aren't good people in either religion; Jesus tells us only God is good?

Religion is what nailed Jesus to the cross. Only pure religion is good, but we can only have that through Christ (The Spirit of God working in and through us). Muslims don't have the Spirit of Truth. They think Gabriel is that Spirit. When he is not nor did he have anything to do with establishing Islam.
Either way, we have free will to follow like sheep, or to question everything. If you question nothing, well, does that only happen in Christianity? What does it do when people question nothing in Islam while idolising their central figure?
It depends where you are. Under sharia law in an Islamic country, it is death for apostasy questioning the Quran or Muhammad. Islam says there is no compulsion in religion, but that is a lie because there is in their religion obviously.

We can see that the KJV people idolize that version of the Bible and that is the sin of idolizing, IMO, But we can never idolize God our Creator to where it is sin.

I meant to say the KJV only people. Idolize a version of the Bible; this is wrong.

It's clear from referencing the stories about Jesus in the Qu'ran that its writer was familiar with some of the gnostic false gospels of the time, but not with the Bible itself.

Islam was spread by the sword, and the irony is the Quran says "there is no compulsion in religion." Islam is the most bipolar religion in the world.

In context, this means that as long as someone continues faithfully in Islam, that there is no compulsion. Non-believers and apostate Moslems are under severe compulsion.

So what do you call it when the Son of man can gather people those who offend him.

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:8-9

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matt 13:41-42

Luke 1:35
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
KJV

Actually you are idolizing the Bible with your copyrighted translation that not only change the terms used in the scriptures since they must materially change the text since in order to obtain a copyright. They do it for profit.

Rome did a good job of that without the help of Islam.
There are tens of thousands of venues that usurp truth. The question is whether or not your can discern what is or isn't doing it and stay clear warning others?

Maybe you can create one
