The present Israel has some devout people in it.That's all God cares about that perverse nation. They have blinded themselves the day they forsook Jesus and continued following the 'Sadducees and pharisees' did, whom Jesus called 'the generation of vipers'.
There are a group of people whom God find righteous enough to be protected, rest are marching to hell. There is no need to justify israel now.Only thing is they are part of Prophecies and that nation is going to be restored to the God given Glory as True Israel when Christ come back manifesting publicly.Right now its satan's foot stool as that's where antichrist is going to come in public deceiving nations.Yes,it the zionist jews now,and got nothing with God.Because the majority don't realize their Messiah already came and opened a better road to enter Heaven which is not physical but Spiritual.

Fishbait, scripture does not identify Israel as a nation of Christ hating neo-Pharisees. Neither is salvation of "...them which say they are Jews, and are not but are of the synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2:9; 3:9).

You need to read Hebrews, James, 1 Peter and Acts, etc. They do not identify Israelites as you have been taught to do. They do identify "...the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad" (James 1:1), and the Hebrew-Israelites that Hebrews was written to---as Christians, as one and the same with the church of 2000 years ago.

God's eternal purpose is to bless the world through Israel. Already He has done so in measure, for "salvation is from the Jews" (John 4:22), but the fullness of future blessing is indicated in the wondrous promise of Isaiah 27:6: "In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit."

The declaration that "salvation is from the Jews” suggests our immeasurable debt to Israel. All that we have worth having has come to us through the Jews. Our Bible is a Jewish Book, and our Savior is a Jewish Savior. Let us never forget to pray for God's chosen people. It is true that Israel, today, is in the place of rejection. The nation is a secular, unbelieving (as to the claims of Scripture and their Messiah, Jesus Christ) nation; but "…at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace" (Romans 11:5). Some Jews are being saved and are becoming members of the body of Christ through faith in their Messiah.

Jews are, biblically speaking, the "chosen people of God" and dearly loved by Him. Another reason for Christians to support the nation of Israel is because of the Abrahamic
Covenant. We read of God’s promise in Genesis 12:2-3, "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless
those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you" (see also Genesis 27:29; Numbers 24:9).

One of the United States’ most worthwhile accomplishments has been its consistent regard for the plight of the Jewish nation. No nation in the history of the world has a better record of treating individual Jews with respect than does America. The same can be said for our befriending Israel as a nation. America has committed many sins for which we may well deserve judgment, but as a nation, we have been a consistent friend of the Jews and the nation of Israel, as well as a benefactor. In 1948, President Harry Truman helped persuade the United Nations to recognize Israel as a nation. Since then, the United States has contributed billions of dollars in aid to Israel.

From the biblical declarations of God's love and care for His chosen people, the nation of Israel, and from the history of nations being destroyed because of their evil dealings with God's chosen people, the Jews, Christian believers should give support to the chosen people of God. This is not to say that we support necessarily the methods they use in their relationships with the Arab nations. The Bible warned that conflict would always characterize the relations between the descendants of Isaac and Ishmael. Sadly, this conflict will continue until Jesus comes back to judge the nations and sets up His 1,000-year reign of peace on earth. We must look at the "big picture” with a biblical worldview. While we do not have to support everything Israel does as a nation, we most definitely should support Israel’s right to exist. God will fulfill His promises and covenants with Israel. God still has a plan for Israel. Woe to anyone who seeks to defeat that plan; “whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3).

Fishbait, you are naively assuming that "Jews," in the Bible narrative are one and the same with contemporary Jews. They are not. Google on the book The Invention of the Jewish People by Israeli professor Shlomo Sand, and The Thirteenth Tribe by Jewish historian Arthur Koestler, and the 2012 Johns Hopkins Jewish DNA study. All document the mostly non-Israelite Khazar ancestry of modern Jews, of "...them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2:9; 3:9).

Please stop telling us to worship and support these Christ hating neo-Pharisess.

the khazar myth has been completely disproved...it is not even accepted by experts on ancient khazaria...

it was developed based on ideologically driven approaches to race that were popular at the time but are now completely debunked as total pseudoscience...

genetic studies have shown that there is no evidence for a khazar contribution to the jewish gene pool greater than about 12%...while at the same time supporting a middle eastern origin for modern jews... the only exception...a study published in 2012 by eran elhaik of johns hopkins...contains historical and geographical errors that not only invalidate but actually invert his conclusion...

in summary...there is absolutely no evidence supporting the khazar myth...and there is a ton of evidence supporting the israelite origin of modern jews...

Would this be a reference to "...them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2:9; 3:9)?

the 'synagogue of satan' is only mentioned in connection with a particular city...there is no exegetical reason to apply the label 'synagogue of satan' to anyone else...

The bottom line is, Israel did not reject Jesus 2000 years ago and ever since. A lie promoted by seminary and Bible college professors it is designed to focus attention on contemporary Jews as the sole descendants of those twelve tribes.

this notion is just blatantly false...it defies multiple biblical texts that refer to israel's blindness and rejection of christ...

there is simply no basis for claiming that all israel converted to christianity in the first century...it is absolute nonsense...

In 1967 the USS Liberty, flying the American flag, and in broad daylight, was bombed, strafed, napalmed and torpedoed for two hours by Israeli Defense Forces. Americans on board who left ship in life boats were then the targets of Israeli machine guns from the attacking air craft. The Israelis failed to sink the ship, but did succeded in killing 37 Americans and wounding over one hundred. Then president Lyndon Johnson, so as not to embarrass the attackers, called back American fighter jets that were sent to defend the USS Liberty. This attack was and still is covered up the mainstream news media and the US Defense department. USS Liberty survivors, since that time have never been allowed to testify at any hearing regarding this atrocity. Google on "attack on the USS Liberty" for pages of suppressed truth on this subject.

the attack on the USS liberty was obviously not deliberate...you don't knowingly shoot at people you want to stay friends with...duh...

and your last sentence is particularly absurd...pages and pages of 'suppressed truth' to be easily found on google lol...

Eran Elhaik, who headed the Johns Hopkins Jewish DNA study is Jewish. Why, as you imply, would he want to promote a lie. The other sources I cite are also Jewish academics. Are they too promoting a lie.

Why do you attempt to discredit research on this subject by referring to "historical and geographical errors" without citing a source for these "errors?" Again, Hebrews, James, and the general epistles, written to Hebrew-Israelites, do not describe them as the Christ hating neo-Pharisees you worship.

So, in other words, the witnesses are liars, but the Israelis are not. They attacked, you believe, under clear sunny skies, this ship flying a huge American flag by total mistake for over two hours. Then, as you would have us believe, they added to this "mistake," by shooting survivors in life rafts! How naive can one be.

Bible texts, referring to unbelieving Jews, are not describing a wholesale rejection of Jesus and the New Covenant. You are ignorant of the fact that people called Jews in the NT were only a small fraction of twelve tribed Israel. And I did, and do not, as you claim, say that "all Israel converted to Christianity in the first century." I do say (and prove) that Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, Acts, and scores of other references identify literal genetic Israelites as the nucleus of the first century church. Those of your mindset, denying this, would have us believe in a type of replacement theology. You would have us believe that James, writing "...to the twelve tribes scattered abroad" (James 1:1) in the first century was writing to Edomites, Canaanites, and other non-Israelites (because you say, "Israel rejected Jesus").

You have fallen for a lie. Your basis therefore, for identifying latter day Israel is false.

the 'synagogue of satan' is only mentioned in connection with a particular city...there is no exegetical reason to apply the label 'synagogue of satan' to anyone else...

Who was Jesus speaking to when he said, "...ye are of your father the devil...ye are not of God" (John 8:44, 47)? Was it not the Judean Pharisees, was it not those who denied his teaching? Do you think this type of mindset is not among us today? And no, this was not descriptive of all Israelites at that time. Those who, spiritually, were of their father the devil were only a small fraction of Israel. And you say that synagogue of Satan type Jews existed only at a particular time, and in a particular city? How naive can you be? Are you so lacking in discernment that you cannot see the spirit of their father the devil in those you claim are Israel, in for whom you have blind allegiance?

not only are your sources promoting a lie...each of the sources you mention has a history of promoting anti biblical lies...

eran elhaik believes that adam and eve did not exist...and that the twelve tribes of israel never existed...he is also an orthodox darwinian evolutionist...

shlomo sand believes that there was never a nation of israel at all...and that the kingdom of david was a myth...and that the exile of the jews from judea under the romans never actually happened...in fact he claims that the exile was a falsehood invented by christians in order to get jews to convert to christianity...

arthur koestler was a paranormalist and promoter of psychic phenomena such as ESP and telepathy and telekinesis and levitation...he was also a lamarckian evolutionist...

elhaik's entire study is actually based on a historical and geographical error... if you read his paper you would know that since we don't actually have any khazar DNA samples he had to substitute samples from 'proxies'...that is other ethnic groups that he believed were related to the khazars... however the proxies he chose were the armenians and georgians...presumably because like the khazars they lived in the caucusus region... the problem with elhaik's choice of proxies is that the armenians and georgians had -already- been living in that region since ancient times...and the khazars in fact -migrated- to caucusus region much -later- from central asia... so actually these two populations are -not- valid proxies for the khazars...basically -none- of the populations elhaik studied actually have anything to do with the khazars!

furthermore the georgians and especially the armenians had connections with the middle east in ancient times...so not only are they not related to the khazars...they were involved in the ancient middle east... consequently by showing a genetic similarity between ashkenazi jews and the armenians and georgians...elhaik actually -reinforced- the conclusion that the jews have a middle eastern origin!

of course this was all lost in him...and on you...because neither bothered to do their historical or geographical homework before coming to their preconceived conclusion...

the survivors of the attack are not mind readers and could not have known the thoughts of the israeli pilots attacking their ship... they would have no way of knowing if the israelis actually knew they were attacking an american ship or not...

intercepted communications show that the israelis still assumed that the ship was egyptian even after ending their attack...

the ship was only traveling at about six miles per hour during the attack...and the weather conditions were calm...so there very likely was not enough wind on the ship to extend the flag...

and it is funny that you call other people naive when you yourself made the spectacularly naive suggestion of looking for 'suppressed truth' on google...

Ms. Rachel:

I have sympathy with the situation of the State of Israel.

But I don't see the need to explain away simply everything that has been done by its leaders and politicians. Nor do many Israelis themselves, for that matter. Look at Norman Finkelstein, for example, who comes from a family of Holocaust survivors, and has challenged some of the mythology surrounding radical Zionism. Look at Zeev Sternhell, for example, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, who, having debunked Nazi ideology in his writings, has also in the interests of fairness demonstrated that some of the more radical Zionists have themselves promoted their own myths.

Yitzhak Rabin received the Nobel Peace Prize, together with Yasser Arafat, but 20 years earlier he presided over the ceremonial reburial of the assassins of Lord Moyne.

Ehud Barak has a distinguished military background and pursued peace with Palestinians, although he also lobbied President Clinton for a pardon for fugitive Marc Rich.

Jonathan Pollard is in jail for spying on the US for Israel.

Rachel Corrie, when peacefully demonstrating, was killed by an Israeli bulldozer on the West Bank; influential members of Israeli lobby pressurized Congress not to try to find out what happened.

There were very strong motives why the IDF in 1967 did not want electronic surveillance from USS Liberty: the Six Day War was in progress and the creation of military facts on the ground - without US interference and detailed knowledge - was perceived as essential to the strategy.

One can sympathize with the fact that Israel has for decades been virtually in a state of perpetual war. In war, truth, with its military and diplomatic aspects, becomes the first casualty.

While being sympathetic, I don't personally feel the need to defend every action of its leaders and military strategists.

You have fallen for a lie. Your basis therefore, for identifying latter day Israel is false.

3,000 people in jerusalem converted to christianity at pentecost...and this number is quoted in scripture as if it must have been unusually high in the history of the early church and therefore impressive... the number of people in jerusalem at the time was probably a few hundred thousand because of the feast... so we are talking about probably only around 1% of those present converting to christianity...the other 99% would have remained unsaved...and that isn't even counting the -rest- of judea and galilee...

so while most of the first century christians were jewish converts...it is clear that these converts represent only a tiny fraction of the people of israel at that time...

this is in agreement with paul's statements about israel...namely that they had 'not attained their goal' of righteousness...that they 'stumbled over the stumbling stone'...that they are 'zealous for God' but that 'their zeal is not based on knowledge'...that they 'did not know the righteousness of God' and 'did not submit to God's righteousness'...that 'they did not obtain' what they 'sought so earnestly'...that they have 'experienced a hardening'...that 'they are enemies for your sake'...and that they 'have now become disobedient'

paul also supports his statements by applying several old testament scriptures to the jews in his time...showing that 'only a remnant will be saved'...that they were 'a disobedient and obstinate people'...and that 'God gave them a spirit of stupor' with 'eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear'

so it is clear that your notion that israel experienced a mass conversion to christianity in the first century...and that those who identify themselves as jews today are something foreign...is unbiblical false teaching...

all revelation says about the 'synagogue of satan' is that they were slandering the christians in smyrna and that they would fall down at the feet of the christians in philadelphia...

this last statement alone strongly suggests that the synagogue of satan was a first century phenomenon that was resolved in the time of john's writing...

for a self proclaimed 'historicist' you sure hold to a strongly -futurist- point of view...

While being sympathetic, I don't personally feel the need to defend every action of its leaders and military strategists.

well neither do i...the USS liberty incident was a serious and most likely preventable error that resulted in a human loss of life...and the israeli government agrees...in fact they paid several million dollars in compensation for what had happened...

but my interest is in sticking to the truth...and the truth in this case is that there is simply no evidence or rational motive for a deliberate israeli attack on an american ship...

Navy attorney in USS Liberty investigation dies

Navy attorney in USS Liberty investigation dies

We just lost one of the good guys :(

By CHELSEA J. CARTER, Associated Press Writer

SAN DIEGO - Ward Boston, a former Navy attorney who helped investigate the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty that killed 34 crewmen and years later said President Lyndon Johnson ordered that the assault be ruled an accident, has died. He was 84.

Boston, a retired Navy captain from Coronado, Calif., died June 12 of complications from pneumonia at a San Diego-area hospital, his wife, Emma Boston, said Wednesday.

Boston was assigned as a legal adviser to a military board of inquiry investigating the attack on the Liberty, an electronic-intelligence-gathering ship that was cruising international waters off the Egyptian coast on June 8, 1967. Israeli planes and torpedo boats opened fire on the Liberty in the midst of the Israeli-Arab Six-Day War.

In addition to the 34 Americans killed, more than 170 were wounded.

Israel has long maintained that the attack was a case of mistaken identity, an explanation that the Johnson administration did not formally challenge. Israel claimed its forces thought the ship was an Egyptian vessel and apologized to the United States.

After the attack, a Navy court of inquiry concluded there was insufficient information to make a judgment about why Israel attacked the ship, stopping short of assigning blame or determining that it was an accident.

In 2002, Boston said Johnson and his defense secretary, Robert McNamara, told those heading the Navy's inquiry to "conclude that the attack was a case of 'mistaken identity' despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary," according to a signed affidavit.

Boston said he kept his silence because he was a military man, and "when orders come ... I follow them." He said he felt compelled to go public following the publication of the book "The Liberty Incident," which concluded the attack was unintentional.

Boston said in a legal declaration that he was certain the Israel pilots knew the Liberty, which clearly displayed American flags and had markings in English instead of Arabic, was a U.S. Navy ship.

Ret. Adm. Thomas Moorer, a former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman who investigated the attack as part of an independent panel he formed with other former military officials, wrote in 1997 that he believed Israel intentionally attacked the Liberty to conceal that it was preparing to seize the Golan Heights from Syria.

A. Jay Cristol, a U.S. bankruptcy court judge who wrote "The Liberty Incident," said in the book that 10 U.S. and three Israeli investigations have found no evidence of any Israeli intent to attack an American ship.

Boston is survived by his wife and three children.

The USS Liberty Cover-Up

The USS Liberty Cover-Up

It was “one of the classic all-American cover-ups,” said retired Admiral Thomas Moorer, a former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman who spent a year investigating the attack as part of an independent panel he formed with other former military officials. The panel also included a former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, James Akins.

Fifteen years after the attack, an Israeli pilot approached Liberty survivors and then held extensive interviews with former Congressman Paul N. (Pete) McCloskey about his role. According to this senior Israeli lead pilot, he recognized the Liberty as American immediately, so informed his headquarters, and was told to ignore the American flag and continue his attack. He refused to do so and returned to base, where he was arrested.

Later, a dual-citizen Israeli major told survivors that he was in an Israeli war room where he heard that pilot's radio report. The attacking pilots and everyone in the Israeli war room knew that they were attacking an American ship, the major said. He recanted the statement only after he received threatening phone calls from Israel.

The pilot's protests also were heard by radio monitors in the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon. Then-U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dwight Porter has confirmed this. Porter told his story to syndicated columnists Rowland Evans and Robert Novak and offered to submit to further questioning by authorities. Unfortunately, no one in the U.S. government has any interest in hearing these first-person accounts of Israeli treachery.
