I don't really have an official bucket list but there are things I want to do.

1: Go to Israel and see peace restored and lives changed for Christ.
2: Go back to Micronesia, where I was born, and see what it looks like and maybe see some lives changed for Christ there as well. ;)
3: Go to Disney World.

haha those are kind of random. There are many other things I'd like to do but you said three. :D

Bucket list:

1. Learn guitar
2. See Australia
3. Visit a place in Tel Aviv I researched for 3 months for a client

for now...

That's cool, thanks for sharing :). I'm wondering how you knew about asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit when you were only 5 or 6? I was the ripe old age of 15 before I thought to ask, after hearing a sermon about Luke 11:11-13 (if ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?), and also the companion verses in Matthew 7:7-11. And then I was like "I don't think I've asked for that........" So, I prayed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and immediately I felt......different. Like God was smiling at me, at least that's the best way I can think of to describe it. My walk has felt more "super-charged" ever since :). I've definitely seen some things happen in my life that HAD to have been orchestrated by God, as well as some things I KNOW that God told me, because there's no other way I could have known them. But, I'm not sure I've had anything happen that could be considered a bona-fide miracle/sign/wonder. I'd love to hear more......Tell me a story, Uncle Cheeky! :D (pulls up a chair, puts chin in hands, listens expectantly). :)

Part 1:
I remember being in church and hearing my grandma talking quietly in some strange mumbo jumbo to herself. I didn't know what language it was but didn't want to interrupt either. When I got home, I asked my ma, ''What is that language that Grandma speaks?'' Of course, this needed some further explaining from a young fella, but my ma is pretty smart, so she figured out what I meant quickly and explained that it was speaking in tongues. I asked about that as a child naturally would. And believed her answers from the bible just as naturally too. Of course, the next question was if I could also receive the Holy Spirit. We prayed, I asked and received and then spoke in tongues. But much more also, I believe that from that time, the H.S. has given me wisdom and understanding beyond myself in lots of situations. And that's how I knew from that young age :) Thanks for asking.

Part 2:
(sigh)... *scans memory banks to sift and sort and choose something appropriate* Ok, one here comes to mind.
Once upon a time, there was a small group of teenagers filled with a hunger and fire for God. They took a trip together to another town to do some seasonal work as fruit pickers. While there they met some locals and arranged regular meetings for prayer and fellowship. During their time there many wonderful things happened as God visited strongly and blessed them.
One thing that happened was when they were all gathered in the upstairs room of a building that belonged to a local christian. About 20 people had gathered that evening to pray when there was a knock at the door. A young lady entered and asked what was going on. From across the now hushed room someone replied, ''Welcome, we are Christians and we are praying. God brought you here tonight didn't He.'' She said she didn't know, that she had just been walking outside and had to come in off the street and then upstairs, she didn't know why. Then someone else spoke and said to her,'' Yes, that was God's Holy Spirit drawing you here, you have a Grandma who prays for you don't you. But she is sick at the moment and you will see her soon.'' The girl was amazed and seemed shocked. ''How did you know?'' she asked. ''I'm going to see her in 2 days because she needs someone to look after her after she recently became ill.'' At that point the girl began to cry, overwhelmed at what was happening and some of the christian girls gathered her up and they spoke with her and prayed for her. She became a christian that same night.
Later, just a few buildings away in another prayer gathering an old lady from one of the local churches came to join us. She was accompanied by one of her friends as she was almost blind and couldn't get around without a guide. We spent time praying together and then asked if anyone had prayer requests. She asked, ''Would you young please pray for me that God would heal my vision.'' We sat her on a seat and gathered around her and began to pray. Suddenly she shrieked, '' Ahhh!! It's getting brighter, its brighter, I can see, I can see!!'' God had healed her vision totally.
There were many other stories of God doing things like that in just that one place over the month or so while that group of young people were there. And many more again from where they had come from and where they went. But I'll save them for later. Thank you and goodnight from Uncle Cheeky. Now go to sleep.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, Mr. Green. I didn't forget, I've just been busy :)

My parents named me "Nichole" because they both liked it. My mom insisted on adding the "h", because she thought it didn't look right without it. My middle name is "Christine", which my dad chose because it means "From Christ", or "Follower of Christ". Hopefully I'm living up to it :).
Funny story from childhood: When I was 4 years old, my parents announced the impending arrival of a new sister, and asked me and my brother and sister if we had any ideas for baby names. After giving the matter a GREAT deal of thought, I respectfully requested that the new sis be named "Nichole". My reasoning was that my 2 current sibs were both named after my parents, so naming the new baby after me would mean that everyone in our family was either named after someone or had someone named after them, thus correcting the inequality. My parents were amused by my reasoning (it made perfect sense to me at the time), but rejected my request. Now that I think about it, if you count my middle name, I was sort of named after my Righteous Big Brother, Jesus :).

I serve The Big Boss by trying to do what He says, which includes telling people about Jesus when I'm led to do so, or delivering messages to other people when He tells me to, which is really fun and amazes me. It seems like He started using me more when I told Him "Okay, I'm tired of thinking about what I want in life. Please give me the Grace to only seek what YOU want". My walk with Christ has been stronger ever since :). So, in general, I try to seek His will in whatever I'm doing, and do my best to let my little light shine. I would also STRONGLY recommend, to anyone who wants to be The Lord's servant, to ask God to fill you with The Holy Spirit, because it makes a big difference in your ability to hear from "Headquarters" :).

Currently, ceramics don't really work into my life. If they did, it would probably be more as a hobby, because my projects are so time-consuming that I would have to charge a fortune for them, just to make a living. I was led to take a few ceramics classes in college, and that's where all of my pieces came from. It was really fun.

I am amazed that you think my scripture knowledge if deft, because I don't think it's anywhere near where it should be, to my discredit :(. However, when I'm trying to explain a point, both here and in "real life", the verse I need always seems to pop into my mind, and I can usually quote it almost exactly, but have no idea where to find it in the Bible. I'm lucky (oops! I mean "blessed' :D) if I can even remember what book it's in. Maybe it's God making up for my natural shortcomings; I have a VERY hard time remembering numbers. I also think that growing up in a Christian home, where scripture was regularly quoted, plays a big part. Thanks, Mom & Dad! <3

This was probably a LOT more than you wanted to know...........:o

Fritoneato, snackersmommy, cool baby name idea, a bit selfish, but your heart was in the right place :D

Yes, yes, 'ok I'm tired of seeking what I want.....seek what you want.' I'm.guessing you may have said this when God spoke in your dream, JUST GUESSING. Yiu,vI think, said word, 'stronger' in both 'reveal dream' thread and now this one, so that is why my green intuitive brain says that. :)

And , well, well, yes , took you a lot of years for your selfishness to change , like guessing , hmmmm, 3-4 , to guessing 25 or so when you said that 'Grace' quote in true Isaiah fashion 'here I am, Lord, send me.' But, bravo, bravo, you got there :). Only half kidding around with ya ;)

Ok, yes, say, say say (you know Hall & Oates?) what you want about 'numbers' in scripture, that they do not come easy to you nicole with an 'h,' but you got a brilliant mind for matching words and numbers from scripture to your thoughts.

Say it isn't so , green ! So. :)

I can also relate to knowing the scripture, but not knowing exactly where it is written. The numbers really aren't that important anyway, when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He just told the devil "It is written...." Jesus didn't say "It is written in Deuteronomy 6:16...."

However, it is helpful to know where the passages are located if you are trying to teach somebody. Which is where the biblegateway.com keyword search comes in handy!

Brilliant said, mcveggietruthking

I wanted to add one to my favorite scents (or "smells" in manspeak :D ). A couple of years ago one of my sisters bought me a glass tube of myrrh oil. I pull it out Christmas week every year as a reminder. It only takes a few drops, but smells wonderful. :)

Is that an eye patch? If so, what's the story? I'm nosey like that...

I decided to bring an eyepatch on that adventure because my boss decided that they would be fun for alleviating office stress.

I put it on at the airport and a friend of mine saw a good photo op without my knowledge. That is when this picture was born.

Bucket list:

1. Become fluent in German.
2. Head up a Presidential campaign.
3. Get blasted off into orbit.

es ist sehr cool ;)

'As if in Passing' represents not only the brevity of our time together, but the power of every single moment.

That makes me think of the proverb "A word spoken in due season, how good it is" :).

Believe it or not, I put some thought into my own screen-name, but my reasoning was more practical than poetic.

What are three things on your bucket list?

I try not to set too many goals for myself, so my bucket list is really just a list of stuff that needs to be done (like, if someone nags me about that big pile of stuff that needs to be sorted, I tell them that dealing with it is on my bucket list). So, I suppose that the only REAL goal on my list is to fulfill God's plan for my life, whatever it may be.

Having said that, I would sort of like to take the last few classes I need to get my degree, and it would be cool to have a public showing of my artwork someday. But, I won't feel unfulfilled if neither comes to pass :).

P.S. I like the smell of Gardenias. I don't know how my heart is, because I'm not qualified to judge it. And, I don't think anyone (except God) knows just how hard it is for me to stand up for myself/talk about my feelings (that probably sounds ridiculous).

Cool story, thanks :) (Runs off, dragging teddy bear) :D

Mr. Green: You are somewhat correct in your assumptions, but there's a bit more to the story ;). Alas, I think it best that I keep it to myself, for now. The Lord leads, right? :)

Nod - What's your favorite period of history?

I want to have a favorite, but i just dont. Theres no way for me to narrow it down to a favorite. I can tell you what period of history i wouldn't have liked to live through. World War 2.

Green as for your question... ummm i guess i can only say that in my 28 years on this earth life has been completely unfair, and i havent and will not ever understand why somethings have happened. It's easy for me to become angry and resentful over it all. And i fight those feelings all the time. However they win more than i would llike and you can see that through my "hard line comments"

I can also relate to knowing the scripture, but not knowing exactly where it is written. The numbers really aren't that important anyway, when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He just told the devil "It is written...." Jesus didn't say "It is written in Deuteronomy 6:16...."

Funny thing about this reply is that I had to use biblegateway to find out where it was written "Thou shall not tempt the LORD thy God.

Hahaha wow do i sound so pitiful i need a hug!

I promise i'll forgive you if you say yes :D

LOL, no, not pitiful at all, but I know how it is to feel like bitterness and resentment take over too much, I used to deal with it constantly, myself :(. I think the turning point was when I realized that God really did have a plan for me, even though I couldn't see it yet, and there were reasons behind why I was going through the things I was going through (it made me a LOT tougher, among other things).

So, hang in there. He loves you, and He's given you some true talent for comedy, among other things. Maybe it would help if you asked Jesus how He would have you use your gifts for His glory? I saw a thread you started in Bible-discussion a while ago, and even though the subject was very serious, you managed to keep everyone on track, even lighthearted about it. I don't think anyone even got called a heretic. It was really cool . Your merry heart can do us all good like a medicine, if you can bring yourself to let it. Don't let bitterness hold you back, He has MUCH bigger plans for you..........-Nichole

I considered the hug thing earlier, but I remembered Nod didn't like that kinda stuff :) Have been praying for ya though..

Thanks snackers! That was a really nice thing to say!

And jullianna, good memory! :D thanks for the prayers there veeeeeery much appreciated

First off, this is a cool thread.
POP!clickt - what makes you crackle? Snap? how do yoy know God us ticking your life now?

And hey, Greenie asked me a question! But I'm not totally sure what he's asking! I think it's... "What makes you tick, and how is God working in your life?" So that's what I'm gonna answer, and Greenie, if I have misinterpreted what your green brains were asking, feel free to correct me. :p

Well, I think I can honestly say that Christianity is the only thing that makes me tick. Not that I don't enjoy anything else, but... as the song says, the things of Earth have grown strangely dim.

And I have seen God working in my life in many ways recently, the most dramatic way being how I sometimes know very specific things about other people's lives when I meet them. Freaks them out. Words of knowledge, it's called. And no, it's not limited at all in the way that I receive the info. It can come in the form of words... visions... or even (GASP) dreams. Prescient dreams. Foretelling dreams.

WHAT?! NO! God doesn't work that way, right?

Wrong. Just because you haven't experienced something yourself doesn't mean it's not possible. It irritates me when anyone is quick to say "God won't do such-and-such." Because His ways are not our ways. There IS more. You CAN dig deeper. And even if you don't want to dig any deeper yourself, you shouldn't discourage other people from doing some digging of their own.

The other, very dramatic way that God is working in my life is in the form of a healing that I received. It's one of the best experiences of my life, but I'm not going to relate it here. It was quite dramatic. Another thing that irritates me (surprising, huh) is when people say; God doesn't heal people anymore. It was just for "back then". Again, just because something hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it's impossible. Yes, I already said that. Yes, I said it again. Maybe it needed to be said again.

Thanks snackers! That was a really nice thing to say!

Well, I meant it :). We all have gifts we can use for God's glory, and you are certainly no exception. The trick is letting go of the bitterness so that your joy can show through. You can be a huge blessing, when you try ;).

And, I will note your disdain for hugs. I'm not much of a hugger either, so I guess we're both off the hook. (whew) :D -Nichole
