Does the bible say the Holy Spirit Convict the Believer verses please - just for information

Here's what the Bible and J. Prince declare about that:
John 16:7-15 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Of sin, because they believe not on me;
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Holy Spirit ministers to the lost certain ways, and much differently to the saved, not copying Satan's ministry of accusation.

Heb 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

I listen to his sermons whenever they are recent ones, but can't have a bit of distraction while doing that. The way East Asians process ideas and speak English is hard to grasp sometimes, like reading the Chinese minister Watchman Nee, one of my heroes of the faith in the era before the Communist Revolution there, which put him in prison until dead. Prince has a daughter that he speaks of often, telling sweet little stories that he relates to lessons of men and the Lord. I can see how someone might tune in at that moment, then quickly change channels thinking Prince is preaching"puppies and rainbows". I've raised two daughters and know exactly the precious lessons they teach us parents to better know God.

As for Word of Faith, I can't believe anyone condemning it has spent more than one typical sermon examining it. People will more likely believe internet condemnations and never check it out for themselves. Over a reasonable time the truth emerges. The Bible teaches benevolence, helping the poor, needing wealth to establish Christian ministry. Moses led a nation out of Egypt bearing a fantastic fortune that was yielded up to build the wilderness tabernacle, Believers are encouraged to provide for their families, but to also work to have to give to those in need. That is more easily obeyed by knowledge of faith as taught by WOF ministers like Prince, Copeland, Keith Moore. We adopted WOF many years ago after never seeing the "windows of heaven" open up for us to help outside our own 4 walls. It is simply taking the Bible words literally with gusto, never fearing anything, putting ourselves at risk for the gospel's sake, then gladly receiving blessings far above what we've shared. I've watched several WOF churches prosper so much they are able to rescue non-WOF churches that were going under. Even though doctrines differ, the leading principle is loving neighbor.

I've watched many Christians who can't afford to get any more broke curse WOF. I always say back "OK, Let God leave you on your own cognizance, so good luck finding enough". They don't do so well. The reason is God will not bless anyone financially that is stingy towards others. God will not bless with health when a person ignores health wisdom, destroying their own bodies. Just believe the Bible, word by word by word, always scripture interpreting scripture, never letting men's doctrines alter any of it. That is Word of Faith.

Absolutely great teaching! Used to watch J.P. but then noticed that he was preaching that we do not need to repent. HMMM??
No at all scriptural. The Holy Spirit better convict of sin because no other source is going to.

Our conscience is meant to do that. Anyone in the world that doesn't have the Spirit does have a conscience of wrong doing.
Better is a man's conscience strengthened by the indwelling Spirit. When the two agree there is abiding righteousness.

I'm struggling with Prince's concept of there being no need to repent. I've heard him explain it different ways, sometimes leaning 5 degrees out of 180 degrees Calvinism. But he's right that right believing will bring a person to the will of God. If I could so be caught up in the Spirit all the time I should not be found sinning, and even if missing the mark I should not self condemn, but get right back on the path. There's a concept some preachers like to explain what sin is, that if an archer misses the bulls eye he has failed, and if missing the whole target, shamed. I don't like that. Prince mentioned it, saying archers carry more than one arrow, so keep shooting until you hit the mark. Paul taught to keep pressing in towards the mark.

I have no problem consciously repenting when appropriate, as I doubt God gets upset over that. I can see why too much repenting could breed doubt in an habitual sinner-repenter that can't seem to ever get and stay on course.

7 minutes into that video required me to repent for listening to that much of it.

Look up the words "convict", "condemn", etc. Nowhere will you find the Holy Spirit came to put condemnation upon anyone. All have already been accounted sinners, and all sinners know they are sinners.

The Holy Spirit does reprove and convict of sin.

John 16:6-11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [SUP]9 [/SUP]of sin, because they believe not on me; [SUP]10 [/SUP]of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [SUP]11 [/SUP]of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Def: Reprove:

To convince of a fault, or to make it manifest. John 16:8.

To excite a sense of guilt. The heart or conscience reproves us.

When a Christian sins, the Holy Spirit is there to point out the righteous act that should happen, like in John 8:10-12 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her,
Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
[SUP]11 [/SUP] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

So what has any Christian to do with having to be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit? Our conscience has capacity to do that. We are taught to judge ourselves, repent, and return to righteous living. If our heart doesn't

If we are "convicted", then someone has judged us of a crime.

The Holy Spirit works through the preaching of the word of God.

When a Christian has sin in his life, the Holy Ghost will many times use the preaching of the word to convict that Christian who has that sin in his life, hence, the Christian knows what he needs to confess and repent of before God the Father in order to get back in right fellowship with the Lord.

1 John 1:5-9 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]5 [/SUP]This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. [SUP]6 [/SUP]If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: [SUP]7 [/SUP]but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. [SUP]8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Hence, a Christian, although he is eternally saved, still, he has to deal with his flesh, the old nature in his flesh. And so when a Christian does sin, it is important to confess it right away, repent of it, and then to forsake it. Because if a Christian does not confess his sins, and judge them and himself, then his fellowship with God the Father will be broken and that Christian will have to endure chastening from the Lord:

1 Corinthians 11:26-32 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]26 [/SUP]For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. [SUP]27 [/SUP]Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [SUP]28 [/SUP]But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [SUP]29 [/SUP]For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. [SUP]30 [/SUP]For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. [SUP]31 [/SUP]For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. [SUP]32 [/SUP]But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Judgment is coming, but not for those following Jesus. Judas followed Jesus for a while, but stopped following, began betraying. The others pursued following Jesus to the end. I pursuing Jesus, following Jesus, we as disciples learn the Jesus Way, and walk it.

The only Judgment which is coming for the Christian, is the Judgment Seat of Christ:

Romans 14:10-12
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. [SUP]12 [/SUP]So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; [SUP]13 [/SUP]every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. [SUP]14 [/SUP]If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. [SUP]15 [/SUP]If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

2 Corinthians 5:10 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The Bozo making the video doesn't know the gospel. [/quote'

No, the brother in Christ who made the video does know the Gospel. And he knows it very well.

I'm not interested in defending all of J. Prince's doctrines, but the video was blatantly built on ignorance.

No, the video was built on the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. And he soundly rebuked Joseph Prince for his heresies and errors.

As for the "laughing", I know the man making that video has never been in an anointed gospel meeting.

That clip of Kenneth Hagin with his hysterical laughing and with all the other charismatics was not an anointed Gospel meeting at all.

That meeting where Kenneth Hagin was leading that evening was a Satanic meeting.

My wife and I both experienced many such meetings, where the Bible was simply read out loud sometimes, without doctrine,

Why without Doctrine?

The main purpose for the writing of Scripture was to teach Sound Doctrine.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [SUP]17 [/SUP]that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

and at a whisper all the congregation was filled with the Spirit, resembling a drunken crowd. Nobody can stand in the presence (anointing) of the Lord.

Those people in that Kenneth Hagin meeting were not filled with the Holy Spirit. They were filled with another spirit.

When Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit. They have a desire and hunger for the Truth. They study out and search the Scriptures for Bible Truth. Also, when Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit, they have a Biblical Boldness to preach the Gospel to a lost and dying world. They are empowered to witness to the lost.

He can't take that away from those who tasted of that in that video, and continue to taste of the glory of God.

What you saw in that clip where Kenneth Hagin was laughing hysterically along with the other people in that Charismatic meeting was not the Glory of the Lord.

What you saw was in that Kenneth Hagin clip was a manifestation of a drunken spirit. It was not a move of the Holy Spirit at all.

When a meeting is lead and guided by the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ and His word is magnified. The preaching of Jesus Christ is at the center. The Holy Ghost does not magnify Himself, but rather, He points men to Jesus Christ.

John 16:12-15
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]12 [/SUP]I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [SUP]14 [/SUP]He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. [SUP]15 [/SUP]All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Probably very few of readers here experienced Kenneth E. Hagin. The man preached faith, the same faith Jesus and his apostles taught,

You are deceived sir.

Kenneth Hagin did not preach the same faith which Jesus and His apostles preached.

Kenneth Hagin's heretical teachings laid the foundation for what today is known as the "Prosperity Gospel" aka WoF movement.

Sadly, faith is substantially unknown to much of the "Church" today. Acquire and read Hagin's books and whatever videos you can find, and learn all you can about faith.

If one wants to learn about Faith, they should avoid Heretic Kenneth Hagin and his damnable heresy by all means.

A Christian should instead get themselves a King James Holy Bible and read and study it everyday. And they will learn more about Faith Just fine.

A Christian can also seek out King James Bible believing preachers and teachers and listen to sermons by them: (Peter S. Ruckman, Lester Roloff, Bryan Denlinger, Brian Moonan, Reg Kelly, Ed Pfenninger, David Hoffman, Gregory A. Miller, etc.), if they want to learn about the subject of faith.

Heb 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

Hebrews 12:6 Does God Scourge His Kids?
by Paul Ellis

Everyone has a mental picture of God. Perhaps you think he is distant, aloof, angry, even terrifying. Possibly you envision him holding a whip in his hands…

For those whom the Lord loves he disciplines, and he scourges every son whom he receives. (Heb 12:6, NASB)
Yet your heavenly Father is not like this. How do I know? I’ve seen Jesus. Jesus is none of these things. Rather, he is loving, gracious, kind and desires to share his life with you. Jesus said he was about his Father’s business and that business is not the condemning business but the adoption business. God loves you and wants to spend eternity delighting in you.

So how does scourging fit into this picture? It doesn’t. It sticks out like a cobra in a kindergarten. It shouldn’t be there. Yet it is, in black and white in Hebrews 12. So does God scourge his kids or doesn’t he?

J. Prince got a hold of the grace message and went to far. The cross is not a license to sin.

or, as one pastor said when preaching on this passage,
God is not a child abuser! :)

discipline...the root of the word, implies teaching...training...
not beatings.
Jesus took the just and due penalty for our sins, and God does not
punish sin twice. (thank You, Lord!)

Well God certainly beat the u no what out of his Son.

Proverbs

You shall beat your child with the rod of correction and deliver his soul from hell.

God planted a special nerve in children and is connected directly to the brain. It is located in the buttocks and if you hit just right it sends a signal to the brain to not do that anymore. I call it the smart nerve and it goes away about the age of 15.

I am not afraid of nothing as I know where my standing is, because when and if I commit a sin He chastises me through the Holy Spirit. Letting me know that I am one of His sons !!!
For He does not sit back and let His sons and daughters live in sin, and when they mess up He corrects them.
Then He clearly says that if you don't feel this chastising from Him, then you are not his son, but are illegitimate.....

If you deny that He convicts us through the Holy Spirit when we sin, then you deny clear cut scripture.
To say this scripture is false is wrong, as all scripture is inspired by God. If you do not get corrected when you sin then you do not have the Holy Spirit guiding you, as this scripture makes it clear that if you are not chastised/convicted/corrected then you are not sons......

To the main theme of this thread, Does J. Prince preach the cross? If not then don't walk, run.

Well the strength of sin is the law...nothing can help those under the law they are slaves to sin. I hope you are a son Kenneth?
