Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
lol.. you did not get the twist.

Only one good is God. jesus is God. he was good.

Your not. so you can keep the commands all you want, you are still not good. and still fall short of the glory of God. thus christ fulfilling the law. You would have no hope.
. . . . . . .

Yeah, he missed that Jesus was asking if they were acknowledging that he was God because they called him good.

And they have been fulfilled, and when the whole NT is considered, we find
they have been set aside (Heb 7:18-19)as the means of righteousness to salvation,

Set aside ONLY as the means of righteousness to salvation, not as useful, beneficial, worthy of study: 2 Timothy3:16

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living;"
also note what "setting aside" means when comparing the same phrase in 2 Kings 4:4 (
4 "Then go in; shut the door, with you and your sons inside; and pour oil into all those containers; and as they are filled, put them aside.") = set aside because they were full and useful.
Hebrews 7:18 "
Thus, on the one hand, the earlier rule is set aside because of its weakness and inefficacy,"

No one here has been advocating keeping the Mosaic Law as a "means of righteousness to salvation." And if everyone who wanted to contribute to a thread would carefully read what others post then there would be much less contention and much more edification,

In the NT only the works of the believer are judged. The works go through the fire not the believer. The loss suffered is the works not the believer.

Christ has justified us according to the law we cannot come under judgment ever again.

David said in the OT blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute iniquity.

yep. and the fact he told them to obey the commands. They should have realised they already failed at this according to the law.

So he made them account for two errors thay were making, and they still did not get it!

To clarify the term "setting aside", or to "set aside" is the same as *Disannulling.

To annul=dissolve, withdraw, invalidate, or put an end to, is not in the KJV.

Disannulled=3722 Hebrew to cover with bitumen (a mineral that is highly inflammable, burns hot)

Isaiah 28:17-18 (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
Isaiah 28:17-18 (CJB)
17 I will make justice the plumbline and righteousness the plumb-bob; hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, water will overflow the hiding place,
18 your covenant with death will be annulled, (invalid) and your contract with Sh'ol will not stand. When the raging flood passes through, you will be trampled down by it.

Disannulleth=114 Greek to set aside by implying disesteem.

Galatians 3:14-15 (KJV)

[SUP]14 [/SUP]That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. (It will stand if it is confirmed)
Galatians 3:14-15 (CJB)14 Yeshua the Messiah did this so that in union with him the Gentiles might receive the blessing announced to Avraham, so that through trusting and being faithful, we might receive what was promised, namely, the Spirit.
15 Brothers, let me make an analogy from everyday life: when someone swears an oath, no one else can set it aside or add to it.

*Disannulling=115 Greek “set aside” (CJB) to cancel or put away

Hebrews 7:18 (KJV)

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the **weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Hebrews 7:18 (CJB)
18 Thus, on the one hand, the earlier rule is set aside because of its **weakness and inefficacy
Romans 8:3-4 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For what the law could not do, in that it was *weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The *disannulling of the commandment was because of the **weakness of the flesh, not the reconnoitering of God.

Galatians 3:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
Galatians 3:17 (CJB)17 Here is what I am saying: the legal part of the Torah, which came into being 430 years later, does not nullify an oath sworn by God, so as to abolish the promise

And you both missed the part about keeping the Commandments...

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

And you still missed the part.

Those saved DO keep his commands. Vs those who are not saved, Who although they may APPEAR righteous on the outside, by appearing to obey his commands/, All they have to show for it is filthy bloody rags, which will have no part in saving them.

This is true.

Time for a fact check. Some here are very definitely advocating that.

Nevertheless, GOD disannulled the commandment.

Now, which Commandment did He disannul?

Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Heb 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
Heb 7:15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
Heb 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Heb 7:17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

this one...

Num 18:1 And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Num 18:2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
Num 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
Num 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
Num 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
Num 18:6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

This is the Commandment that makes no mention of Judah but rather Levi in doing the service of God in the Temple. This is the Law that was changed. According to this Law, Christ could not be High Priest because He was not of the tirbe of Levi. Since Christ gave this Law, He has the authority to change it and He did. The Priesthood was changed from a Levitical Priesthood to the Melchisidec Priesthood. This is the Law that was changed.

OK, I'll put it this way. I've witnessed more than a few here saying that the law must be kept in order to be saved.

Now, I do believe that salvation is conditional, but I do not believe that meeting those conditions EARNS salvation. God gives salvation freely without price (at least to us, it cost Christ His life) but He does not give it to rebellious, evil people who will not do His will.

the words highlighted in red contradict the words highlighted in blue. there is thus a major problem.

Hmmm, and I suppose this is self contradictory also?

Act 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

And this is terribly self contradictory...

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

How about if you explain these scriptures to us?

Oh and maybe use some scripture?

I think this says what you are saying.
2 Chronicles 15:2b (KJV)
[SUP]2b [/SUP]The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Now, I do believe that salvation is conditional, but I do not believe that meeting those conditions EARNS salvation. God gives salvation freely without price (at least to us, it cost Christ His life) but He does not give it to rebellious, evil people who will not do His will.
We are all evil and rebellious until we are saved. It is His will that all men be saved yet some refuse.
