While I was laying in my VA provided hotel room for easy access to radiation and chemo treatments for almost 2 months, I was amazed to see the arrogance and pride of the world, seeing that watching cable was the only thing that didn't take any energy out of me, which I didn't have. It seems that the world is and has been running head-long, embracing the sinful nature. I mean I've always noticed it, but in this situation it was kind of in the spot light. It is though they have no fear of God what-so-ever these days! Their sights are completely set on this world and they haven't an inkling of what is about take place!

There is definitely a big change that has and is currently taking place. And it is not just with the unfaithful, but with believers who have gone back into the world and are once again entangle in the sins therein. In years past, there used to be somewhat of a reverence for God. But today everyone's eyes seem to be on this world and prosperity. I get the feeling that they are close to finishing their tower of Babel.

To further my point, I noticed a recent commercial with the tag line which says "What's strong with me?" When they should be asking "What's wrong with me?" It's as though everyone has abandoned the Lord's promise of the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.

I remember that when Satan deceived Eve asking "Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’? Satan immediately twisted what God actually said! But Eve knew the answer and replied "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; But from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die. And Satan's reply was "You will not surely die,” the serpent told her. “For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” I have often wondered if the worlds desire to impress upon each other their greatness is a carry-over of "your eyes will be opened and you will be like God." Is this what they are expressing?

I also kept thinking of the following scripture which is listed after the 6th Trumpet:

"Now the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands. They did not stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. Furthermore, they did not repent of their murder, sorcery, sexual immorality, and theft."

Because of the OT, when we think of idolatry, we think of little carved images, whether made from gold, silver, bronze etc. However, the 6th trumpet is in reference to the future.

"They did not repent of the works of their hands."

I have known it for some time and realize that "the works of their hands" is speaking about the making of products, which is represented by the material that they are made from (gold, silver, bronze, etc.) For example, look at the obsession the world has with cell phones and each new version. And that's just one product (the works of their hands). For anyone who is not in Christ, any and all things makes them idolaters, including the worlds obsession with those products that the world is running after, automobiles, cell phones, video games, etc., etc. The works of their hands.

The next part of the scripture is also revealing:

"Furthermore, they did not repent of their murder, sorcery, sexual immorality, and theft."

The word translated as sorcery and/or magic arts and witchcraft, comes from the word Greek "pharmakeia" which is where we get our English word pharmaceuticals from, which is defined as "the use of medicine, drugs or spells. from pharmakeuó (to administer drugs). I believe that this is speaking about the current recreational drug problem that the world is and has been experiencing. As far as scripture is concerned, drug use is considered sorcery.

Just some food for thought

I hope you are feeling better but yes much of the world has rebelled against God. I can not say how bad as times in scripture or history in my opinion looked worse than today but we are indeed heading in the wrong direction in sin or right direction according to scripture related to end times. I suppose only God knows the future, how patient He will be, and is He starting to slow the age of grace or will there be further seasons of mass revival. Only God knows.

When a person rejects Christ he has no good alternatives. He has to fill the vacuum of his soul with something. He goes for things, pleasure, drugs, humanistic philosophy, religion, arrogant self centeredness, or even the direct worship of Satan and the demonic realm. Most of the world rejects Christ. One pastor I knew estimated that only about 25% of humanity will be saved. Their souls are blinded by Satan. The devil's world is filled with deceptions; everywhere you turn to see substitutes for faith in Christ. You hear the lies in the news media, movies, music, education systems, political systems, the internet, religions.

In spite of all this, God's love extends to lost humanity all the way down to the end of the tribulation. The tribulation is the greatest period of evangelism in human history. Moses and Elijah return and preach; the 144,000 Jewish evangelists go out to all the world; angels become visible and warn humanity. The disasters of the tribulation serve as a wake up call to shock and humble humanity into seeking God for deliverance as human schemes and the works of their hands fail them. Some will hear the call and believe in Christ, but many in their arrogance will reject.

I think it’s great that the world is in the condition it’s in. The greater the iniquity the more powerful the grace. And who needs a world that has a respect for God and are not born again? No, let them be sinners so that they can see their wretchedness when the gospel is bring preached and the Holy Ghost is convincing the world of sin.

There is going to be a revival that will literally shake the foundations of this planet. I had a dream a few years back and it was so heavy that hardened people that we thought would never bend the knee bent that knee and confessed the LORDSHIP of Christ.

Don’t be saddened over the condition of the world, rather be saddened over the condition of the Church. We need to come together and forsaking the foolishness that has kept us apart from one another and “pray ye one for another that you may be healed”.

The condition of the world is due in part to the condition of the Church. Church folks used to pray for their localities. They used to have all night prayer meetings when there was a disturbance in the force, and God met them every time, because one will chase a thousand and two will chase ten thousand.

We’ve let down our guard and we look and act just like the world, there is no difference. There needs to be a distinction. Not in hair cuts and long hair, not in suits and not in jean skirts, these things are so backwards it’s childish. Let us look modest and look normal, and let us pray to the Father in secret, so He will reward us openly by having someone say, “Hey, I don’t know but there is something about you that is different”, do you remember when people used to say that to us when we walked close to God? A couple of years ago, someone said to me, “Your face smiles, you have a face that doesn’t judge”. I was taken aback by those words. But I walked away praising God that He is the one that is smiling through me.

Thanks for your reply, Roughsoul. Considering how things are now, it makes one wonder what the state of the world will be like once the church is removed.

It's a tragedy that they are opting for this short life followed by eternal punishment, for the Lord's promise of forgiveness and eternal life.

I could imagine like the days of Noah but way way worse. God is merciful to limit it for only 7 years.

Satan is trying to kill all of God's servants and God is using this to REFINE our walk with Him. In the last 5 years I had a Heart Attack, Prostrate removed, then COVID 19 ad C-DIFF back to back. God has humbled me to the point I started saying what I learned for many years isn't always God's truths, that is why in the last 5 or 6 years I have such odd (to others) understandings of end time events. God actually used these events to bring me closer unto Him and to put off old thinking that came from men. I know without a doubt God used this to bring you closer unto Him also. Troubles sharpen us up.

Lord God, give our great brother in Christ a refreshing in body, mind and soul in these last days, Satan, you cease an desist your efforts against God's servant in Jesus' name, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, you will be cast in the pit soon and known a the small liar who deceived the masses.

Be well brother, we have a job to do, lets roll.

The same here. Each problem turns into a step up to the throne of our King, and those trials are wonderful in the manner you have described.

God bless you always, and I pray to see you there....

You know, we don’t have to look too far with people suffering with cancer, it’s all around us. My sister had chemo a few years back. Going through her ordeal was heartening for the folks at the hospital, she came in chipper and went through the therapy process. She always got it on Tuesday, but on Friday was the worst day and then climbing out of it and by Sunday feeling better only to go through the whole process again on Tuesday. For her, it was worth it when the cancer was finally gone. She was ready to depart this world if that was the avenue the LORD was taking her, but she survived it and continues on to this day. She had an advantage, she lives in a care facility and there is always something going on. Comforting pets, everyday noises, other residents coming to her for help, she felt needed and wanted and even though long term care homes maybe a hot bed for COVID, it’s also a living community. It’s too bad that you can’t go home and have people buzzing around you and be in a place of familiarity. I’ve been in those hotel rooms and the only living room is the outside. When the TV is turned on, there is not much on it and the news IS depressing, because we always listen to the same thing over and over while laying there in bed.

Get well brother and get home if you can.

True! The Lord allows us to go through these trials for His glory and for the refining of our faith. This has been a very humbling experience.
