In the South any relationship between a white woman and a black man was considered an act of treason by other whites back then. That fact alone made some women throw out false accusations. They didn’t have the guts to admit the relationship. It was considered a shame to their families and kins as well. They might could lose, no, in fact, they lost their positions in society because they’d been with men society viewed with contempt and disgust. Those were hard times. As you know, our schools were segregated back then and any attempt to be socializing interracially was frowned upon, to put it mildly. Admitting to having a relationship would brand them for eternity.

I think it’s not accurate to compare a woman whose accusing a man of power, not at all a pariah, to women falsely accusing black men back in the fifties.

Accusing a black man back then for just about anything was comparable to putting a bullet in his head in those days. It was as good as no downside. The accuser got shed of him but had by that been showing God her true colors.

What about accusing a powerful white man? How’s that going these days? Accusing a powerful man is never a good idea, that’s the truth. Mrs Ford knew it, yet she stepped up. Do you ever wonder why?
The main point in law, there is no "victim" .......there is only an "alleged victim" because of due process.

No one should be presumed guilty first. That is a very very dangerous path.

Sad to see Americans loosing there bearings and understanding of what has been the backbone of any modern judicial system.... due process.

You are actually supporting my point inadvertently, the veracity of a claim should never be based on status or lack thereof, it should only be based on facts and evidence, Kavanaugh had neither.

The allegations against Kavanaugh would never be enough for him to be proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. I think we can agree on that.

It happened 35+ years ago and any evidence of what happened is long gone, except from their statements.

The witnesses are shady, at best, and can’t be of any help.

One says it happened, the other one denies it.

In a court of law there’d be a big, fat “not guilty”.

If I was on the jury I’d voted “not guilty”.

But he’s not a defendant. He’s a Supreme Court candidate. Any accusation like the one Mrs Ford made, should be instigating some sort of investigation, not only a seven days written report from the feds.

They could have made time for that, but the hurry they were in was the boss of everything.

Taking more time would unseat the nomination, that is how these things work. That is what the liberal Dems were trying to do is unseat it and keep the bench open until after the midterm elections.

Whoever gets to be appointed is the decision of God. Midterm or not.

This man has been thoroughly vetted and investigated I believe six times throughout his career for his various roles in public life.

Mr Grassley said the FBI could not find any people who could "attest to any of the allegations" against Mr Kavanaugh and that there is "no contemporaneous evidence".

I think that the Republicans were more than accommodating to even entertain such spurious allegations.

Yeah well, Kavanaugh got it. The liberal Dems don't believe in God, mostly they are godless communists.
That’s correct. God wanted him for the SCOTUS.

What makes this accusation possibly true? Because it's a woman making it? What if it was a man?

Could the ± $600,000 in her go fund me account have anything to do with it??? btw, she's still receiving donations - I just added up the amount received today [$1,245]. Not a bad paycheck imo ... waayyy more than what I make in a day.

All involved in this debacle need a serious "come to Jesus" moment and I hope/pray for their sakes that moment occurs in this lifetime so their foolishness can be burned away before they have to face God and give an account of their involvement in this mess.

I believe that Bernie is actually a socialist. I did a write-in vote for him in the 2016 general election. My wife said that if I voted for Trump I would be sleeping on the couch for the next 4 years. We both agreed that I would not vote for Trump and that she would not vote for Hillary. She reneged on the agreement. My two choices for write-ins were either him or Mickey Mouse so I picked Sanders 'cause he is more comical and often amusing in his rants against Republicans.

Yea, Bernie is a socialist. He said so himself. :)

What you are saying, in effect, is that if you go to the wrong place/wrong time ... you deserve to be raped. What nonsense. Rape is not about sex ... it is about power and control. If you go to the wrong place at the wrong time and you are killed ... do you deserve to be killed?

What you are saying is that a woman must prevent her own rape? Interesting that. How? Most know the rapist (family, friend, etc). Not a stranger on a dark street late at night. Rape is planned in advance. Most women who ar e raped are girls (under age 17).

Kavanaugh is corrupt, so is Trump, all of them are. Get out of the left/right paradigm, because that makes you easily controllable.
You're saying Trump is a corrupt man? Think again...

Prove it. Give me accredited sources.

I would say that your posts testify to that exact thing

you may not be accredited though and that's ok too because most of the screaming banshees who are and were against Kavanaugh do not need anything other than there own agenda...the agenda of the communist demo party...to rule by mob and illegal power gained through a seditious court system that throws out the law and makes new ones..which is not the function of any court

like them, and I am not calling you a banshee, you have been given all sorts of proof; the voice of the party is all the proof one needs since the hue and cry is a constant Kavanaugh is guilty and Ford is a sainted virginal martyr and this ascertained with no proof other than Ford blinking rapidly under examination and absolutely no one, not even her bestest friend in the whole world, backing up what she states happened

so there yah go

no one is saying any such thing

this is just more of your convenient untrue interpretatons to make it seem this is why you object

you object to what you do not actually like and therefore, it becomes YOUR truth, but it is not THE truth

the democratic party is not about concern for the country. much like rape, it is about power and control

Well, a Supreme Court Justice should under no circumstances be sworn in because there was reasonable doubt about his actions.

I think it’s pretty clear that none of them are saints. However, that be not the case here. What really is the case is the fact that we have a Justice that is being accused of immoral and criminal behavior. How many Justices have been accused of that before him?
